I visited on a Monday night. My plan was to get a sandwich. I was informed they were doing a special on the spaghetti and meatballs. So I decided to try it. Wow, it was probably the best spaghetti I have ever had. The waitress said it was the family recipe. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The service was spot on. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck on a beautiful warm evening. Must try the Spaghetti. read more

I have this place a rating of two stars only because of the Zimmy's Bloody Mary are the best I have had in years. The atmosphere is that of a lake side bar. I do not recommend this place after the service we received and probably will not go back. And I really really wanted to like this place. The pizza was nothing to write home about. The crust tasted like it was frozen, it had that freezer burn taste to it, toppings were slightly over priced, but not crazy over priced. Service was the biggest issue. It took 10 minutes for our drink order, and the server only brought my beer, and not my wife's cherry coke. That came 25 minutes later, yes 35 minutes to get a cherry coke. The server actually had to come back and re-ask my wife's drink order. Would have loved to tried the onion rings, we did order them but the server failed to bring them. I suggest you pay in cash, as you get the order ticket to use to pay the bill, and it looks as if a drunk chicken ran across it. read more

Met here to meet up with some old friends. Service was super slow, and pretty rude. Food was pretty terrible too. Never got a drink menu and regular menus took forever to get too. We got asked to leave immediately after we paid because there was a wait? We spent MAYBE 15 minutes out of almost an hour with food in front of us, and drinks didn't come out until then either. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch at the recommendation of a friend. The Olive Burger was really good, the beer was ice cold - very nice. Huge side if crispy fries. Table service was fast and friendly - I told her we were in a time crunch to get to the airport and she was very accommodating!! Prices were very good - I'll be back!! read more

Let me tell you this place is a home run! From Chicago to Cassopolis Mi this place not only has great bar food the customer service is 10 +!!!! The servers always have a smile on their faces, our drinks were never empty, food was soooo good but we will be back again because of the service, you dont see that any more, the ladies who work so hard to take care of the customers are the reason we will be back! Can't wait to try the bloody Mary's and coney dogs! read more

We were playing at George's one night and some college kids had rented a lake house up the road. They stopped in to hear us play for a bit and went over to see what was up at Zimmy's. They came back 5 minutes later. They said when they walked in to Zimmy's, they were asked if they'd just left George's. They said yes and were told they were not welcome at Zimmy's. They tried to explain they were from out of town and just renting a lake house for the weekend, but still they were told to leave. I had heard there was some kind of a stupid rift between Zimmy's and George's, but to take it out on unsuspecting customers is both childish and unprofessional. I've not ever been in Zimmy's. I won't ever be in Zimmy's and I make sure to pass on this story to everyone who asks me about bars in Union. read more

Zimmy's is great. Being from Elkhart, just south of the Michigan border and close to Union, I used to hit up this place because it was the best kept secret dive in the greater Michiana area. Zimmy's is tucked away on a lake in the middle of nowhere in Union Michigan. Great time for some cheap shots, fun live music, and some dirty dancing w/ the local girls. Etown lacked a truly great dive like this one. One day I will make it back to relive the glory days. read more

Can get really crowded at dinner time, but that's what beer is good for, right? If you go expecting to have a couple drinks while waiting to be seated and sitting down to some simple tasty food, you'll be fine. Good for groups 2-6. Hubby and I went for our 1st visit. I had a sausage pizza and hubby had the perch. With all the good reviews of the pizza, I was really looking forward to it. The perch was fantastic, the cheesy noodles not really good. The sausage on the pizza was very crumbled and bland. I like pieces of sausage on a pizza, not crumbled sausage. If you haven't experienced this place you have missed out. Outstanding staff. Food is great and it is a fun place to take a break. You don't need to go only in the summer it is fun year round. We love to come here and will continue as long as we can. All the regulars are very friendly. Get out and take a ride. It takes us about 45 minutes to get there and it is worth the trip. There are tables for diners who can order from a limited selection of burgers, sandwiches, and fried fish. The food is average, the service is adequate, but the strong suit of this establishment is the local atmosphere. The tavern has a long standing reputation and tradition as a "The" place nestled near these little lakes. It was nice...not great, but nice.
