Yeah, I did a Grubhub order and I gave very specific instructions on everything that I needed because I have a broken back, a sinus infection and a viral infection so I end up with a guy banging on my door demanding a code that I never received which is not taphouse on the edge's fault, but I requested very specific things like a sandwich be cut in half and crispy, tater tots and extra napkins and etc., etc. and receiving none of it and I went so far to call the restaurant to let them know about it and the manager pretty much said well there's not much we can do about it or that was the attitude so I said I'll never order from you again and I won't. Because my order is wrong and it's their fault. It's called accountability. I will never order this again from this restaurant. Or anything from this restaurant again based on the way that they didn't make it right. I even went so far to call back a second time and got excuses as to why they include onion, tomato and lettuce in an order that is excluded on tomato, onion, and lettuce. Onion makes me sick and everything had an onion flavor to it so I spent $20 at Grubhub to not have dinner and when I tried to explain that to the manager, she said well so many people get upset because it says that it comes with that. So I told her I said that's fine. I told her that I'm got these things going on and it's not her fault the Grubhub delivery driver isn't her fault, but the reason that the order was wrong on several different levels, not cut in half no mail on the sandwich not extra pickles not extra napkins, not extra salt, etc. etc. and everything tasted like onions so of course I don't wanna eat it and I got excuses so I told her I won't use her restaurant again and she said OK. I would recommend that she don't go there because they don't fix things when they screw them up. I have no intention of ordering or going to that restaurant ever again. And it's funny because my nephew used to work there and I used to love the place. Well I guess I'm done with it. read more

It's close to UND. But food quality is questionable at times. Service staff again is questionable. At times some of the best service, then at times not so good. Its proximity to UND probably has a lot to do with your experience depending on if there is a home game. read more

The service was great! Our server was very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere was cool and comfortable. Felt like a good place to have a private conversation and plenty to look at on the walls. The food had some good flavors, but everything tasted greasy and like it had been fried in old oil. Nothing wrong with good bar food that's been fried, but this felt extra greasy and the flavor started to get really old. We saw a picture of a great burger and decided this place was a must. When driving up the to restaurant it sits in a strip mall. The exterior gave off "maybe not" vibes. Walking in it has a divey comfortable feel. And it did deliver. We started with some wings and stuffed potato skins. Also a couple of beers. That day domestic on tap beers were $5. The potato skins were huge! The wings were solid. After the potato skins and wings it's was too much. We never ordered entrees. So you know what that means, we have to return. Taphouse on the Edge exceeded my expectations! My boyfriend I stopped here after a long drive from Pittsburgh. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and our waitress was the best!! I ended up getting the strawberry margarita and it was so big, one drink did the trick lol. We got the queso and chips to start and the queso was so bomb. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was very tasty and the battered type fries were my favorite! Will definitely stop again next time we're in South Bend!! read more

As a local favorite restaurant right by the Notre Dame campus, it is quite a sports bar and has many football features in the restaurant. I ordered a take out for the famous bacon bacon bacon burger. It was okay, a bit dry but still very meaty and flavorful. The bacons have different flavors, and are tasty. You can also choose buns whether to be white or wheat. The wheat ones that I had were very soft. Overall the burger was good but not that of great as I expected. I also waited for another 25 minutes even though the app said my order was ready. I have no idea why this could happen. read more

I had 20 minutes to finish the "Monster Melt" challenge, which consists of their Taphouse Melt (2- 1/2 pound burgers, cheddar, gruyere, sauteed onions, Thousand Island dressing and grilled cheese as the buns) with an extra grilled cheese that has ghost pepper cheese and bacon, along with a side of loaded tots. For completing the challenge in 9:14, I received the meal for free, a tshirt & a spot on the wall of fame! The food was great. I loved the extra spice from the ghost pepper cheese. The jalapeños included with the loaded tots were absolutely delicious. This restaurant is within walking distance of the Notre Dame campus. When the food arrived, it was piping hot. Pretty standard sports bar with slightly noisy interior, but quiet enough for private conversations. Plenty of big screen on the walls as well as a small screen right at the booth where we sat. Great wait staff ready to serve and advise if you have questions about the drinks or the menu. Great selection of drafts on hand that change from time to time....Draft Menu even had "On Deck" for brew that would soon be added. List also included ABV and pour sizes available. Excellent information! Food...a lot of fried items - so be careful what you choose. Burgers! - good choice, Fried Portabello - sorry this is a real grease bomb (but savvy eaters should know that already). Elote Fritters (Street Corn Hushpuppies is another way to describe these) really good. Think it was December when Fleet Feet switched our weekly run start / end location to TapHouse On The Edge (near Notre Dame). Rated 5 stars as the location, food, drinks and service are spot on perfect every week. Ashley (our friendly server) efficiently and smoothly juggles orders for our huge group (35 - 50) with a smile. She even greeted me by name tonight! The cooks offer yummy food. Prices reasonable too. By the way, we're in running gear, may even be a bit sweaty, however, casual fits in well here - treated as valued guests and welcomed to drop in as you are. This past week, during Taphouse's weekly trivia night, my daughter, who uses a wheelchair, was told by a waitress that she was a "fire hazard" because her chair stuck out from the end of the booth. When my daughter offered to change tables, the waitress told her that they were at capacity and that "this isn't going to work". My daughter requested to see the manager. Not only did the manager never come over to the table, but the waitress never returned to take her order. Instead, the waitress returned an hour later to once again reiterate that " this is a hazard". We will not be returning to Taphouse and encourage you to do the same. Not only is this illegal & discriminatory; it's humiliating & wildly disrespectful. read more

Taphouse is alright. The food is standard bar fare with a few additions, but a consistent theme is butter and grease. Especially in the pretzels, it was somewhat overwhelming. The service is not great, but at least on Wednesday they have half-priced appetizers and cocktails. read more

Just off the beaten path in South Bend. In a little shop center. We actually drive past it while trying to find it. It's a little spot. The staff were nice They have tots as a side and also loaded tots as an appetizer I had the loaded tots. They were good. As with most they got a little soggy by the middle. But not much you can do about that. I had the boneless wings in mild. Let me tell you. These might have been the best boneless wings I have ever had. First they came out stacked high and they looked like regular wings. What ever they do in the kitchen they cut The boneless wings to mimic the appearance of a regular wing. Maybe it was my visit, but I didn't get the hoopla surrounding this place. Or maybe it's just the alum in me who knew this place as Between the Buns and loved it then. Regardless, this isn't what I was expecting or hoping, but it wasn't terrible either. The menu is actually pretty solid and includes a lot of different options. I got the chicken strips, and they were really good. The batter was excellent, and the meat was tender. I really enjoyed them. What I didn't enjoy was the extremely slow service. It took forever to be seated, to get glasses of water, to get drinks, and to order food. The food came rather quickly, but getting there was a marathon. For me, that always ruins the experience. I also appreciate their willingness to keep some of the drinks from Between the Buns on their menu, but it's just not happening. You won't ever truly recreate a Papa Smurf like it was in the old (not that old though) days. read more

Taphouse on the Edge is a credible take on the taphouse theme. The menu is creative and not overly huge. They have some nice touches fur the COVID era, like a hand free menu that you can download into your smartphone and a separate beer menu that is also phone accessible. The beer list is what you would expect, with a few standout stouts. The menu focuses on burgers, which they do well. Worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Walked in waited about 10 minutes before someone (waiting customer) told me I needed to write my own name on waiting list. Got seated ,very short staffed... (I get it not their fault) noticed they were doing some "food event" but nothing really outside hard to explain (loaded fries or something weird) but I noticed someone bringing in propane tanks inside the restaurant 4 in total. I was baffled like that is not safe at all and everyone knows not to bring propane inside of a building. Ordered an appetizer came fairly quick but about 5 min later had to ask for plates... couple minutes later had to ask for silverware (they didn't have any clean so took about 10 minutes to even get) appetizer was cold at this point. Went to order another beer and she comes back with a small plastic cup stating that they have no clean glasses to serve me a "proper pour" but still got charged for the 23oz. Just very disorganized and very poor management on things. Sad I came into town and I am used to "Between the Buns" such a shame how downhill this place has gotten since last visited. read more

Great service, abundant drink menu, and tasty small plates! The restaurant is conveniently located near Notre Dame Campus, right off of 23, and has plenty of dedicated parking spaces. The atmosphere is very casual. There's plenty of seats at the bar, tables, or booths - take your pick! The staff is friendly and courteous. The sliders are tasty, the fries and nachos are crisp and delicious and there's a wide variety of shrimp and wings to choose from! Perhaps my favorite thing about Taphouse was their drink menu. Their root beer is locally made - creamy, bubbly and delicious! Their strawberry lemonade has the perfect twist of fruity flavor and zesty tang! I don't consume ethanol, but I'm told their selection is impressive! Overall, though not ideal for a quiet evening, Taphouse is a solid place to chill with medium to large groups of friends and enjoy good food and drinks. read more

I had passed Taphouse several times and it just looked like a typical bar - I had no idea they had a complete menu! I was very pleasantly surprised by the food and beers on tap at Taphouse. They even had my favorite Rhinegeist beer "Bubbles" on tap and anywhere with Cincinnati beers is an A+ in my book! The menu is actually pretty extensive with good specials and what looks to be a great lunch menu. We went with the recommendation of our waitress to get the hipster salad and a grilled chicken tender basket with tots. The hipster salad is SO good and has some delicious unexpected toppings like pear, apple, feta, and almonds. The grilled tenders were pretty good but the tots are awesome dipped in their cheese sauce! I feel like this is a place I could come several times and always try something new! read more

Overall - if you're in town for a game or a resident you should definitely stop by. A fun place for a great burger. Have been multiple times. Food: The peanut butter burger is my wife's favorite, but I am in love with the 'bite your face' burger. Spicy cheese, frizzled peppers, bacon & more. I get it every time (my wife is amazed I can leave with any taste buds intact.) It's not often you can find a place that serves tater-tots. The 'loaded tots' are a great appetizer. Cheese, sour cream, peppers yum! They successfully adopted the 'Smurf Drink' from the previous restaurant, so those who remember it, your favorite South Bend cocktail has not faded away. Service: Hostesses & servers seem to always be friendly & in good spirits. Some have been there a long time and will be recognized. The cooks come up with a 'burger of the month' that always looks interesting, however I always seem to stick with my fav. My first time visiting this spot was the day of the Garth Brooks concert. The place was packed to the point where the line for men and women's restrooms was seven deep, and that was only if you had 10 minutes to maneuver your way around the bar to get to the restrooms. Every seat taken and folks were packed like sardines around the bar area. Being so crowded, it was ridiculously loud in there, even for a sports bar. We stayed long enough to have a couple of drinks and lunch before we braved the dismal weather on our trek to the stadium. I will give props to our server, who did her best.
