When we came to pick them up, we struck up a conversation with a really nice lady and her dog. After chatting for a while, it hit me that she had to be the owner. When it came time to pay, she refused my card. My son stood there, mouth agape, in absolute shock. When he asked how he could repay her, she said he just needs to be excellent and pay it forward (paraphrase). When we got in the car, he told me he felt like his cards were blessed, and I have to agree. What the owner didn't know is that the cards were for his first experience away from home - a 9 day biotechnology program - and he was nervous as hell about it. I prefer to keep my money local in small businesses when possible. I contracted a designer to create my wedding invitations for me as a PDF, then all I had to do was send the files to Michael at Deem to be printed. It took less than a week to have a proof of my invite ready (and it only took that long because the printer was being repaired), and then once I approved the sample, my 80 invites were read the next day. The best part is I only spent $33 on them! Everything was so easy and they even had the invites wrapped in sealed plastic so I didn't damage them on the way home.
