Today, I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but wasn't seen until 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I ended up leaving the treatment room just 12 minutes into the session. The service was completely unskilled: rushed, inconsistent, lacking rhythm, and missing the foundational techniques that define a competent, professional massage therapist. A skilled therapist uses intentional pressure, consistent/proper flow, and an understanding of muscle anatomy to create a therapeutic and cohesive experience none of which were present. Realizing the session was doing more harm than good, I made the decision to end it and leave. The front desk staff clearly knew something had gone wrong, as my early departure was obviously due to dissatisfaction. Yet I was still charged $139. Not only is that unreasonable, but deeply unprofessional. When I called for clarification, I was met with a scripted cancellation-policy explanation given by the same employee who witnessed me ending the service early and leaving the studio upset. Only after pressing for details was I told I'd need to speak with a manager. The entire interaction was dismissive, confusing, and frankly, insulting. This visit brought frustration instead of the relaxation this business is supposed to offer. And for anyone who believes the service I received, particularly from Pam, is acceptable, I can assure you they have not experienced a true massage from a trained, skilled professional.

I don't know any of the therapists so I let the system choose mine for me. I arrived 15 mins before my appointment time as most places want you to chill out with a cup of tea and some relaxing music before your massage. No dice. The (kinda rundown) building has a janky call box to let you in and you can't hear I'd and when someone answers to buzz you in. Another person came in with me and told me how creepy the building was - the floor she got off on was barely half lit. I get to the floor of the place and it was stinky and dimly lit too. I find the door - it's locked - and I knock. No one is there. It's late morning not first thing in the day. So I call the place and a guy answers but sounds like I bothered him - tells me that he's working remotely and will call my therapist. Then calls me to tell me she's in her way. She arrives just after when my appointment was to start. So now I'm a bit worked up but also weirdly nervous because the whole thing was so off putting. Therapist was curt and arrived with a child. I nearly changed my mind and left but decided to stay went with it. Since no one was there nothing was prepared. Cold table - warmer not on. No music, no ambiance. No offer of a drink before. Just a lot of turning on computers and lights. I don't want to be there for that when I'm there for pure relaxation. The massage itself was decidedly fine. Not terrible but definitely not the best I've experienced by any measure. It was matter of fact with no consultation really. Just business and done. I wasn't impressed. This isn't the experience I'd ever want someone else to spend their hard earned money on for some relaxation. There are comparably priced places where you'd get the full experience of a spa relaxation. Go there.

I walked up to the door and it was locked (I think only on Sundays), after re-reading my email about using some code to unlock the door I tried to use the key pad it ended up dialing for someone. As I was calling the office, Tyler my masseuse walked out to open the door. He was very polite and friendly. He led me to the office to fill out a form. I used the bathroom quickly it was small but they really tried to make it nice for customers. I also asked if the facial that came with the package, could be skipped since I didnt want to wipe off the makeup he was flexible about replacing that with a longer massage. My massage included hot stone but there was not quite a prepared flow instead he focused on the problematic areas that I pointed out in the form. I also told him that I pulled the area below my shoulder blade the night before he suggested to massage the psoas which was overworked because I use the pilates reformer everyday. He took some time to massage and relax the area. After the massage the remaining soreness around the shoulder blade was eliminated. I enjoyed their innovative focus on muscles that were not traditionally massaged or paid attention to. The masseuse was knowledgeable, patient and listened to customer's needs. I contacted The Spa Room on the same day I purchased the Groupon and was told by Mary they didn't have any weekend availability, and asked if I would like to come in during the week instead. I again reiterated I purchased a weekend slot, and Mary replied that if I didn't want to come in during the week, I should contact Groupon and cancel. I pointed out that the weekend deal was still available on Groupon, and she stated something to the effect 'that's Groupon's problem, not mine' After several email trying to work something out, I contacted Groupon and let them know the circumstances and they refunded my money. The Groupon rep also stated they will be contacting the business to see what the issue is since the posting is still up for weekend classes, but obviously they are not able to deliver. After reading other reviews stating how bad the massage class is, I am glad I was able to get my money back!

I've been coming here regularly for over a year now and this place is great! Prices are a little…read moreover a dollar per minute plus tip and you don't need an appointment, there's almost never a wait. I don't have back pain or anything like that, I just come in for relaxation. It's always a nice experience there, but more than that I've found I benefit when I'm in the habit of coming in regularly (i.e. every 1-2 weeks)- my body just feels better overall, and my baseline mental health improves. As others have said, it's no frills so don't expect a spa type of experience. You keep your clothes on (best to wear sweatpants or shorts), and you can hear the noise from the mall and people talking in the background. But it's clean, the massage tables are comfortable, and the practitioners are very good. They do tend to use heavy pressure, so if that's not your thing be prepared to ask them go lighter. Beyond that it might be a little difficult to communicate detailed preferences, but personally I don't really find a need to. They will include feet unless you ask them not to. My advice is to do a 45 or 60 minute session (30 is not enough) and just let them do their thing!
