After my chiropractor of many years, Dr. Levan, retired, he recommended a few other chiropractors. Of the various excellent chiropractors I tried out, I found that Dr. Cradic really stood out. Dr. Cradic's adjustments are exceptionally good. He is unusually strong, incredibly fast, and very precise. Parts of my spine, especially in the upper spine between my shoulder blades, often would get stuck and resistant to moving. Dr. Cradic reliably gets them moving, with adjustments that are incredibly fast. Dr. Cradic also used a couple of adjustments that were extremely effective, but I had never seen before. This includes an adjustment of the shoulders that has done wonders for my pain and ability to work out intensively. In addition to adjusting my spine, Dr. Cradic has also helped with my wrists and even an issue I was having with my feet. He mentioned that his chiropractic expertise is actually enhanced by additional training in osteopathy. This, combined with skill and experience, may help explain why his adjustments are so phenomenal. The appointments begin with a combination of heat and electrical stimulation to relax the muscles, followed by a roller table. Sometimes, the roller table comes first, followed by heat/stim. After that, he does the adjustments, along with any soft tissue work that is needed. For example, in my case, he often uses a massage gun on my shoulders and rotator cuff, which I have found quite helpful. The hygiene is also good. For example, each person has a set of pads used for the electrical stimulation assigned to them. You get your own pads, rather than sharing pads. Equipment, tables, etc. are wiped down after each use. One concern I had was parking. That part of Silver Spring can be tricky to park in. However, there is a parking garage right across the street with plenty of room. I have never had any difficulty parking. There is also some limited street parking, but with the garage right there, I have never bothered with it. read more

Dr. Shane Cradic has a small but well-equipped office. His practice is medium-busy, so there's little, if any, wait. Dr. Cradic's a tall, and necessarily strong, young man, but he obviously subscribes to the "first do no harm" school of therapy. My neck and shoulders had limited motion and the knots on my muscles knots made it worse. I can now lie down on stomach with my head turned to either side. If you're like me, you've been getting along and have come to accept the discomfort of misalignment and overwrought muscles as a given, and the price of working in an office. I'm glad that I gave Dr. Cradic, and myself, a chance to change my health substantially for the better. read more

For the last several years I have experienced pain in my left arm usually from my elbow to my wrist. I have seen other chiropractors who told me it was an entrapped ulnar nerve and there was little that could be done other than regular adjustments and eventually surgery. Recently, the pain was getting to the point I couldn't do some of my regular functions, so I went in search of a chiropractor near me. Yelp brought me to Dr. Cradic's practice. I was easily able to get an appointment for 9am on a Monday morning and finding parking was easy as there is a county parking garage across the street from the office. During my first appointment, I got dizzy and lightheaded while he was doing his evaluation so we stopped. He was incredibly understanding and told me to reschedule. Turned out I had an ear infection which was throwing some things off. But before I got dizzy he was able to make the determination that the problem wasn't where or what I had been told all along. The problem with the nerve actually starts way up in my neck and shoulders which are tight from sitting at a computer most of the day. A few quick adjustments and massage have brought me great relief. I haven't had any serious pain issues at all. Highest of recommendations! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Cradic for a few months now. I found him on yelp after not being happy with my previous chiropractor. The first thing he did was ordered xrays for my back and we established I had scoliosis and that changed everything! I had it when it was younger but I hadnt realized it was why I was in so much pain. After a few sessions and suggestions to buy a foam roller, I started to feel better and now a few months later, I can go two weeks without an adjustment if I need to. I've been in the care of a Chiropractor almost my entire life after suffering a serious car accident when I was 5. Dr. Cradic is by far the BEST I have ever seen. He takes his oath to do no harm very seriously and will take the time to understand your unique situation. The office is small, and fairly bare-bone, but he has better equipment than some of the "prettier" offices I've been to, and he offers better service. Even when he has been short staffed I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appt. He offers a number of therapies, including electro-stim, spinal traction and acu-pressure. If I could give Dr. Cradic and his staff 6 stars, I would. I've been seeing him since about 20 weeks into my pregnancy, and am currently 34 weeks pregnant. I am not really a devotee of chiropractic work and had never been to one consistently in the past. When I started seeing Dr. Cradic, I had daily, wincing, awful pain in my SI joint and he's pretty much completely eliminated it. When it flares or another area comes up as a bit uncomfortable as the baby grows, a weekly appointment always brings relief. He is knowledgeable, professional, and a great chiropractor. This place might be the right place for some people, but it wasn't for me and Dr. Cradic wasn't professional or knowledgeable enough to let me know that. I came here for about two months, once per week, for back problems. I would feel some relief immediately after the sessions, but the issue never really improved, and these sessions weren't cheap. Dr. Cradic said just to keep coming back and hope for a breakthrough - he said he didn't know how many sessions it would take to relieve me of my back problems. I felt pressure from him and the staff to keep coming back. Thankfully, I went to another chiropractor for a consult, and this other chiropractor was professional/knowledgeable enough to tell me that I didn't have structural problems and did not need chiropractic services. He referred to me to a colleague who does soft tissue work. His colleague's services were exactly what I needed, and I have had huge improvements. My only regret is that I spent so much time/money at Altacare. read more

I was very impressed with this chiropractor! He has a good bedside manner, listens, takes his time. He doesn't just snap and twist your back into place; he uses a number of machines to stretch, massage, and warm your back before he attempts any adjustments. He really knows what's he's doing and although I was more sore for about 10 minutes after the session, once the tenderness wore off my back felt great, better than it has in a while. Dr. Cradic is wonderful! He really takes the time to listen to patients and explain treatment. His clinical knowledge is exceptional! Dr. Cradic listened to me when I described the pain I was experiencing and, unlike the orthopedic surgeon I saw only a week before going to Dr. Cradic, ordered an MRI for me. I am so glad he did--as it turns out, I have a complex sacral fracture! If Dr. Cradic hadn't been so thorough I would not have known the source of my excruciating back pain (the orthopedic surgeon told me he thought I only had a "muscle strain").
