She's great with kids and is always calm and collected while simultaneously showing enthusiasm for the kids. Stacy has developed curriculum that is fun, multifaceted and holds my daughters attention. I like a balance between play and learning and I feel Bloom gets this right. Bonus: my daughter brings home adorable crafts matching the weekly theme. My daughter attended during the 2020-21 school year. The owner Stacy told me at the tour that she was going to try and find a transparent shield for her face so she could pull down her mask and smile at the kids. She couldn't imagine not being able to show the kids facial expression. **Okay, I don't know about you, but this is exactly the kind of teacher I want for my child. One that sincerely cares about the emotional and social development of her students. ** She would give the parents periodic updates regarding Covid safety rules but she didn't ever appeared frazzled by the changing protocol of Covid mandates. There was one Covid exposure risk during the year and Stacy did a A+ job of informing us and keeping us safe with an appropriate closure and re-opening. Honestly, Bloom was a major "silver lining" for an otherwise CHALLENGING year. I'm so grateful to Stacy, Nicole, and Amber for a fantastic first year of preschool. I am now counting the days till summer vacation is over and school starts back up!

I miss talking to them about any situation or new toddler issue I was having with my son. They had some great advice and tips to use. They will be hard to replace.

They establish good ground rules with the children, provide a stimulating curriculum with age appropriate toys and teaching tools, teaching the little ones numbers, colors, alphabets, sharing, and group playing. This isn't a day care that sits the children in front of the television with movies and kids shows. The hours are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and Aster has always been very flexible with us and understanding when we needed to change our schedule last minute. Blossom provided food for our child and accommodating our dietary needs as well. (vegetarian) Our son was able to get his afternoon naps in as well. They are based in the heart of Columbia City walking distance to the light rail or rainier ave. Easy pick up drop off. There is parking for one car, drop off, with an awning for the rainy days to keep you and the kiddo out of the rain. It is an affordable day care that is convenient for working parents. We had a wonderful experience and our son loved it. He still talks about Aster and his friends that he met there. Aster is a wonderful woman with a kind soul and a very easy going way with children.

She has a great dedicated space on the lower level of her home with a large outdoor space as well. Aster is so kind and caring and dropping our daughter off there feels like leaving her with family.

Although there has been some turnover (as is normal for many daycares), all the teachers have been very responsive to requests, and it's easy to tell they're great when all of the kids are so happy and comfortable with them. One note - there definitely have been repeated billing issues, but that has nothing to do with the teachers at each school and has gotten much better in recent months. I'd advise parents to keep a sharp eye on how often they are billed, and note that tuition is collected approximately 1.5 months in advance.

I live right by cottage schools and Gatewood elementary. Every time I'm there, the teachers are just huddled around talking to each other while the girls get into their caddy circles and exclude other kids. Then there's this one poor little boy who sits by himself staring at the ground all the while the teachers chat it up. If this was my child, I'd be heartbroken. This happens on the regular. We went inside to do a tour and all the students were rude to my daughter. Some of the "teachers" looked like they had zero education. Think about who guides your children. These are not the people you want. Then jve tried to call them. No one ever pics up the phone or it's disconnected. Then the person who emails is extremely short and rude. I'm guessing the reason they get kids to come is because it's tied into Gatewood. Unfortunately, Gatewood is the school my daughter will go to but with this level of education in the pre k program, I'm worried about the level of care my grade school child might not get.

My son absolutely loves all of the teachers and their programming. Any time I voice a concern (like my son being rough, other kids being rough), Laura and the staff have been clearly invested in ensuring that their curriculum addresses the areas (beyond just academics) that the kids need to grow and thrive in -- such as socialization, being respectful, listening to their friends, etc. I highly recommend this wonderful school!

The West Seattle location had availability and confirmed my reservation. On the day of the reservation, when I was getting ready for dropping off my daughter, I got a call from the West Seattle location and they told me that they have no space for my daughter even though they had given me a confirmation earlier. This is not an isolated incident. The same thing happened to me 2 days later. And I had to run around at the last minute to find a daycare option for my daughter. The people working at Bright Horizons West Seattle don't even have the basic decency to give you a heads up 1 or 2 days earlier to let you know that they don't have space for you! I would recommend everyone to stay away from this location due to terribly incompetent management here.

I walked in the door and immediately felt a sense of warmth, community, and love. Many of the teachers have been there for decades, and all of them are deeply dedicated to the growth and happiness of the kids in their care. This isn't just a way to make ends meet. It's their passion. In addition, extended hours and limited closures are great for working parents, and the center has a large courtyard playground where older kids can run around, build blocks, ride bikes, do "water play" on hot summer summer days, etc. With just one class per age group, the center is small enough that everyone knows my son's name and greets him warmly as he goes about his day. I highly recommend!
