Honestly not sure when the last time the whole air ducts were cleaned out. There was a strange smell coming from the air vents while the heat and A/C was running so needed to get them cleaned out. The price for the service is amazing honestly you get more for your money. We had a deep clean and sanitize. When I came home after the service was completed it smelled like a brand new home. The owner came, went up a ladder and walked around in my attic took pictures. Showed me the pictures told me what would be done. Asked for my opinions and information sent me a bid and I got the rollout kind which is the better kind and a beautiful clean job at a really good price. I was very pleased. The second company that came out to give me a bid, had the word crawlspace in it, but there are several companies that do. He went up the ladder and did not go into the attic. He just swivel his head around, came down and told me I had quite a few few pipes that would need to be fixed. He told me that the ball kind would be cheaper for me. I said well the ball kind will float around with the draft in the condo attic area and he said no they could make a little dividers that would be about 2 feet high to keep it all in place. And I said well you told me I'd have it 36 inches deep so that wouldn't be high enough to keep the stuff in and he said oh yeah yeah it would it would. Obviously, I did not use him. read more

Dustin, the owner is amazing. Responded to my inquiry within minutes and scheduled an inspection. Dustin confirmed that the horrible smell is most likely a deceased rodent. Since I don't have a crawl space, the exact location is unknown. Recommend I contact my pest control company, have them patch up the entry area that he found, then reschedule for the HVAC cleaning. Dustin did not want me spending money on the HVAC cleaning until the entry areas have been sealed. It's so nice to find a business that is honest and isn't trying to take advantage. For the dryer vent cleanup service - the technician showed up, said its clean and left without any cleanup but I was charged the full amount. I wish this was communicated more clearly or more effort was made to diagnose the issue before scheduling. My experience with the Duct Cleaners was fantastic. They were responsive and squeezed me in for an urgent appointment the next day. When the guys came out to check my dryer duct, they discovered that I had accidentally blocked it and the duct didn't need cleaning! They offered to just leave and not charge me for the visit. I still can't believe how nice and honest that was. I went ahead and asked them to clean the duct since they were there, and they told me their work is guaranteed for a year, so if I need help again before then, they'll come back at no charge. I can't say enough great things about Dustin and his crew. I came home from some time away to find what I assumed was a dead critter, inside an old decommissioned ceiling air vent in my kitchen. I was so freaked out, not even knowing where the vent led to or what was up there, and the old metal grate was painted to the ceiling so I was convinced it would be impossible to get out. I dreaded what I might find. Well Dustin immediately put my mind at ease and figured out the situation and where the vent led to within like 5 minutes, and gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work. He and his awesome crew came back to complete the work, carefully removed the vent grate and got the critter out (squirrel, sadly), cleaned it all out, sanitized, and capped off the duct to keep it from happening again. I can't express the relief I felt that the thing I had been agonizing over was solved in just a couple of hours. I ran into an issue with my 2nd floor dryer. My "check vent" sensor kept popping up during a high heat cycle. I investigated the dryer vent and cleaned out the area, but the sensor kept going off, so I contacted Dustin at the Duct Cleaners. He sent a crew over to my house to see what the issue was. Eric took a look at my roof and used a drill snake attachment to clear out the lint. He also checked to ensure that the airflow was properly coming out of the vent. We did a couple of test runs and the dryer seemed to be working, but then the sensor went off again after they left. I told Dustin and he sent his crew back to investigate. Dustin's crew was accommodating and willing to figure out what the issues were. They took a look at my dryer vent and the attic to see if there were any issues. He also sent a camera up the vent to ensure that the duct run was clear and free from any obstructions. We did more test runs on the dryer and the sensor didn't turn on! I asked Dustin if there was an additional charge for the second visit and he said all their services have a 1 year warranty, so it was covered! This team has been wonderful to work with. I was able to coordinate everything through Yelp. They were great with rescheduling. The team was super friendly, top to bottom. On the day of service, I missed them knocking cuz of a conference call and they drove back after I called to figure out what happened. They were at my house for 6 hours, cuz they discovered there were holes in the air ducts so they couldn't create suction with any of the machines. I then spoke to the owner and he referred me to another company that specializes in Insulation, who can fix the problem and then said he won't charge me for the time. I had a great experience with this business. We called them about 2 weeks ago, and they were super friendly and clear about what they could and could not do for us. We recently moved, and we have been spending many hours cleaning up after the people who previously lived in this house. (We are very clean... and they were very dirty. One of many examples was hundreds of pieces of their cat's food were scattered underneath our washer and dryer! Yikes! We took care of that!) Among our many cleaning projects was cleaning the furnace filter, then replacing it with a better filter, then buying air purifiers, and then deciding that since the furnace filter was that filthy, the air ducts probably needed a thorough cleaning. We spoke with Dustin on the phone. At first this company was booked out further than we would've liked to wait, but fortunately they had a cancellation so we jumped on that, so they were able to get out to our house within a week. They did ask us to move the arrival window from 9am - 11am to 2pm - 4pm the same day, which normally I wouldn't like, however, it was same day and I was able to move things around, and they had fit us in super early on a cancellation so I decided to be flexible. Their communication was really great around this too, which matters a lot to me. The guys that showed up were helpful, engaging, thorough, on time (they arrived within the delayed time window), and efficient. I thought it was mildly humorous, but their massive duct-cleaning machine actually blew a couple of electrical circuits in our house, so I had to show the lead guy where our circuit breaker was. Not a big issue, pretty minor and easily solved by flipping some switches. Just an fyi for anyone who may be concerned about losing electrical power in certain areas of your house temporarily, this could happen to you too - their duct-cleaning machine uses a lot of power! This company said that they could clean out our furnace too for a reasonable extra fee, but only if the furnace wasn't too dirty. Given the state of the filter when we moved in, my hopes were not high. Indeed, our furnace was incredibly filthy, and they gave up all hope of being able to clean it for us. However, they recommended another company called Better Air Northwest, which I called that same day, and that company came out the next day and did a thorough cleaning of our furnace. The guys did a great job. One thing that I noticed and felt very impressed and grateful for was that the guys wiped off the wheels of their duct-cleaning machine prior to entering my house, to be sure that the wheels did not leave track marks on my carpet or hardwood floors. I felt like cheering! The final bill was very reasonable. I had earlier considered asking this company for a discount due to the delayed time slot (I had to reschedule a couple of things that day last-minute due to this), but I decided against asking for that - mostly I just felt grateful that they could still come out on the same day. However, they did give us a 10% discount of their own accord due to this issue! Very thankful for that. The 10% discount just about covered the tip that I had given the guys. I felt badly (but at the same time was rather impressed) that the guys lugged that enormous duct-cleaning machine up and down 2 steep flights of stairs in order to get the job done. I had noticed prior to the air ducts being cleaned that I had been having some minor headaches and sinus aches. After my ducts were cleaned, these issues have disappeared! Hurray! Before I even got a service scheduled, he responded to me here on Yelp messaging and let me know that they might not be able to see me in time for any major issues. Not only that, but he recommended other cleaning services in the area that might have more availability. We were already at 4 stars based on that alone, if I'm being honest. Elena messaged me soon after and said they had a time slot open up and I jumped at it. I was already impressed by letting me know other companies that Dustin trusted in lieu of taking the business himself, so I wanted to give this place money. We got all scheduled, and I let them know what the issue was: Dryer stopped drying after roof work done by our HOA. Figured either they clogged the vent somehow or maybe some roof tar caused a buildup, who the heck knows. Dustin came out on time, gave me a call beforehand, he and his coworker were masked up, and distance-respectful. They went up and came back down in 10 minutes. He handed me a little mesh grate and said "You had the roof worked on, right? So the vents they used up there, they got 'em at Lowe's, and there's this little yellow sticker on the underside that says 'remove mesh filter if using with a clothes dryer.' And they didn't. And it'll clog every time if you leave this on." So I took pictures and thankfully my doorbell camera caught this whole discussion (which I later used to yell at my idiot HOA for installing 9 fire hazards per building). Dustin waived the second-floor fee and only charged me for the cleaning, and said something to the tune of "I don't wanna charge you for your homeowner's messing up." Dustin, Duct Cleaner crew, I'm so sorry this review took so long to post. You did right by me and I've recommended you to my workplace whenever anyone asks about vent or duct cleaning places. They are a good company, but I think the communication could be better. I would still give them another chance. Here's my story. I asked Dustin and his team for a quote to clean our dryer vent. The problem is our vent is outside on the 3rd floor of a building. Their company is the only company with 40ft ladder and willing to come help me out. The first visit they forgot to bring the 40ft ladder that we talked about. So we have to reschedule. The second visit, they brought the ladder but it's too short. His team asked if they could clean from the inside. So I told them that the duct looked clean from the inside and that's why I wanted someone to clean from the outside vent. They wanted to look anyway and he took a picture and the duct was clean. Still they wanted to try to use a brush to clean, but they could not get all the way. Finally, they went to look at the outside vent and use our broom to brush lint from the outside vent. All in all, they could not really clean the vent. I think they were trying their best but the service was below my expectation because I had to pay the full price of the service even though they could not clean it properly. I think what they can do better is to set the right expectation for me about what they can and cannot do. In short, I'd still hire them but I'd communicate even more and discuss options, and set the right expectation from the start. read more

Hired Dustin and his team to replace my crawlspace vapor barrier and old blown-in insulation. He was able to match the work on a higher estimate at his original quote price and even did a little more than asked for when we discovered other things. Prior to the installation, I had informed Dustin that I would like to run a CAT6 through the attic in between the work and he graciously let me borrow his spade drill bit set so that I could drill the holes to drop the cable. I ran into some snags in the process so had to bleed into their work time during the day but he was happy to workaround me. There was a small cosmetic crack line on one of the ceilings after the work but Dustin came back to take care of that with some caulking and helped us paint over it. Very happy that we didn't have to have an argument over that. Loving the batted insulation vs. blown-in and my internet works great as well now =]. The crawlspace was a quicker job and his team was willing to remove some of the old half-built remnants of the previous owner so the area looks much cleaner now. They also did some mold treatment on some areas in both the attic and crawlspace so we have a 6 month check-in on schedule to make sure nothing comes back. Insulation was way below grade, not enough output vents, the pitch on my roof had melted during an incredible heat wave, it was going to be a much larger issue than I initially thought. He was so prompt and thorough, answering all of my questions, giving me a very fair price and even threw in the duct cleaning for free in consideration of everything I had going on. On top of that, I have a very obscure schedule and an unusual house. His whole crew was polite, showed up when they said they were going to, did the great job fast and flawlessly.
