When I tell you that my girl Kourtney & my waitress (I apologize for forgetting her name) came through with it. I'm loving the classy aesthetics, it reminds me of some of the restaurants up north. Of course I ordered the lamb chops, which were beyond amazing. Well marinated, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked! I added of that slap somebody in the face, dirty rice and candy yams mmmmm, my back got a little big. I must be honest I was upset when there was no more, the food disappeared quickly. This is an astrology themed restaurant (hence the name) serving zodiac themed drinks and good southern brunch food. This restaurant is located downtown Killeen. They don't have much parking however, we were told parking in the lot across the street is fine even though the sign says otherwise. I don't think it's a must to make reservations but we did and was seated promptly. As a heads up, they won't seat you if your entire party is not there. You can never go wrong with chicken and waffles and I'm glad that I ordered this. I ordered my chicken fried hard and they executed the job perfectly! The waffle is served cut into 4 pieces with a tasty glaze and 3 full sized wings. The waffle is so soft and fluffy, the fork cut through it effortlessly. The chicken was also fresh and seasoned well. Too fresh that I had to wait until it cooled to eat. They also have other southern dishes like shrimp & grits, fish & grits, and seafood pasta. Overall, the customer service was great and food even better. If I'm in the area and feeling brunch, this restaurant will be at the top of my list. read more

We went to Zodiac for lunch on Friday and in true old people style showed up at 10:30 AM. It is a nicely appointed restaurant which also contains a bar. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had shrimp and grits. Both dishes were delicious. I think the waitress was named Candice...she told me her name several times which ensured that I didn't internalize it. Anyway, the service was good and everyone at the restaurant was most pleasant. I was in town in Killeen for the weekend and wanted to go somewhere new. Somewhere that is not a franchise but local to the community. I saw the pictures of Zodiac and the food looked amazing. Nestled in Downtown Killeen, this hidden gem is what you would not expect Killeen has to offer. As soon as you walk in it has an astrology oriented theme to it. The hostess was very prompt and polite and seated us at the table. Our host, a young male whose name I don't recall was also polite and made sure we did not need anything. Drinks were quickly refilled without us asking. Looking at the menu it is very moderately priced. I elected to go with the boudin egg rolls as an appetizer and lamb chops with asparagus and smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. The wait for the food was not long. The egg rolls were delicious. I do feel like the mayo-mustard sauce that accompanied it did not belong. I feel like a sweet chili glaze sauce or some type of sweet sauce would be perfect, except to not inspire any Asian influence cuisine. The lamb chops, oh my. Probably the best lamb chops I have ever had in my life. The sweet glaze it had, and how beautifully seasoned it was surprised me. The Mac and cheese was a let down and let me explain why. It did come out cold and soupy and a bit al dente. However it tasted very well. The asparagus was on the thin side but it was cooked nicely with garlic. The love potion drink was so good, I am normally a light weight and this was a sweet drink. I did feel like the presentation was a bit overboard with an empty lamplight holding your drinks but I understand. It's part of the presentation with the name of the drink. Normally I would have given this a 4 star but this hidden gem in Killeen is exactly what I was looking for. A restaurant like this is what you would normally find in a big city like Dallas or Austin. But the food here and the Chef making the food are doing big things for the culinary scene in the small city of Killeen. Would I eat here again? Absolutely. For an overall experience it was great. We came here while visiting for a friend's surprise party. We came on Saturday and Sunday. Both days the food was excellent. The service could use some work not because they are not nice or polite or attentive. It seems more like a bit of understaffing. For the volume on Saturday. On Sunday the service was perfect. The drinks were a bit of small put in my opinion but all well made. On Sunday sadly we came in the last few hours of service and a number of things we wanted to order by hey did not have available anymore. Which was unfortunate. Since visiting Zodiac I have yet to receive my deposit refund. If you didn't know for parties of 6 or more, you are required to put a deposit down that is refundable when requirements are met. Requirements were MET. After my event on December 6, 2025 I have left multiple messages on their online portal. I have called the restaurant countless times and spoke to "DeeBoe" their manager, a hostess, and also left messages for their general manager Courtney Holmes. The owner greeted us upon our arrival which was a great first impression. The Ambiance was perfect with a lot of natural light! The Decor and concept..... spot on. We called ahead to ask if we could come in or if a reservation was needed. The young lady on the phone assured us that a reservation wasn't necessary and encouraged us to just come in. However, when we arrived, we ended up waiting for over an hour before finally being seated. Once seated, we were unexpectedly asked to get up and return to the front lobby to wait for another table to open. The owner explained that they needed to move us because they had wanted to seat another party at our table. This was both confusing and frustrating--I've never encountered anything like this after already being seated at a restaurant. Although, we did return to the lobby no one was ever seated at the open table in our place. Back in the lobby, we were told it would only be a 5-minute wait for another table. However, 10 minutes later, they returned to apologize and informed us that the only food available was chicken and waffles--nothing else on the menu. At this point, we still hadn't been properly seated, and the entire experience had turned into a frustrating and disappointing ordeal. Eventually, the owner apologized once more and offered a 20% discount for a future visit, since they were unable fulfill orders from their menu. We had high hopes for the restaurant based on previous reviews. Unfortunately, this was our first time at this establishment, and first impressions are everything.
