This was a cool little experience. I like books myself, so the mix with a little alcohol can't hurt. Finding it was fun. Thought I was lost until I could hear people. I didn't look the place up and know that it was kind of hidden. My friend knew of a secret menu. But we had to find the rest of the quote that the bartender sent us out to find amongst the books. It was kind of busy when we went. Didn't take us long to get our drinks. I'd like to go back and try them out again sometime.

This is such a cute bookstore! It has a hidden entrance behind a painting door at a little building with other shops and cafes. You can order an assortment of drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) and look around the shop where they sell book related items, jewelry, stationary and other unique little trinkets. I met my friend here one Saturday around 1 pm and it was busy, so I'd like to stop by again so I can snag a spot by the fireplace. Most of the tables were already taken when I got there.

This is a cozy bookstore with a bar that has good vibes for chatting, working, or playing board games. They have a menu with cocktails, mocktails, wine, and beer. The cocktails are pricey. I got the Songteller cocktail ($12), which is a banana pudding martini. It's a sweet dessert drink that kind of tasted like banana cough syrup. The alcohol content was extremely low (I began to question myself if there was any). My friend and I got some work done here. There aren't any outlets close to the main tables, but there is one next to a side picnic table area. It didn't look like there was public wifi, but we asked the bartender and obtained the wifi information. When we got bored, we browsed the very small book selection. There was a prominent spirituality section, which mainly had books about witchcraft. Interesting. They played very sad music almost the whole time I was there. There was a brief respite of jazz music.

First time coming to Blackbird and I will definitely be back! The vibe was moody and intriguing. The cocktails tasted great and you could tell a lot of effort went into them. The service was friendly as well. I like how you can browse books, play board games, and drink your favorite cocktail (or wine/beer/coffee).

Cool place. If you don't see the sliding door then you'll miss this place. It's super cool. Bartenders were knowledgeable and fast. Sat downside relaxed on one of the chairs and noticed they were super quick at cleaning up right after someone left (in a good way) this place was laid back and I even saw some well behaved children in there my banana pudding martini was legit !

This little place was a delight! You walk into a pizza place, all the way back, then slide the picture aside to walk into this neat little place. Great atmosphere! Cool drink selection, too!!

    Secret entrance

It's like stepping into a secret library. The dark, cozy ambiance is wonderful and there's tons of books to check out. I ordered two different drinks and both were fantastic. The staff are so sweet and one of them even gave me feedback on a book I'm writing.

She has hand written signs that states she will name her price. The lady running the place admitted that her house had been bulldozed by temple. then stated about how much stuff she had lost. I really like this place. I'm a bibliophile, myself. I have way too many books to read in my…read morelifetime; I suppose part of my book obsession isn't only about reading the of books, and extends to the finding and curating of a book collection, as no working dad has the time for reading the entire library that I'm building. Idk. Maybe I'm just preparing myself for a retirement spent in the books--either way, I have a habit of buying too many. Thus, it's rare that I leave a bookstore without a few or more in hand. In this case, I only purchased one upon my first visit to Fletcher's, and I believe the reason I purchased so few is simply that it's so difficult to sort through the books here unless one has much time to meander and stare at every book on the shelves and tables--and, for the tables/islands of books in the middle of the room, one must have time to pick up books stack by stack to search through them, else you can't actually see what the books are; it's like losing sight of the trees for the forest. Still, upon my visit, I did find one book that I've been meaning to purchase for years, and it happened to be in one of the stacks I picked up. I suppose there's something cathartic about picking up a stack of mystery books and searching through, hoping for a gem. It's a bit like gambling. Although, I simply did not have time in this visit to linger longer and meander through all the mystery piles. It is for the reason of accessibility--though the search may be fun--that I do deduct one star from my review. Were it easier to find books on the tables, I suppose I would leave a 5-Star review. And, on the surface, they really seem a 5-star independent bookshop. They have so much packed into such a quaint and whimsical location; I really loved the ambiance. The antiques were a nice addition--I'm now convinced that all book shops should double as antique shops with stained glass windows and panels such as this. It's gorgeous. And, yet, again, I still wish it were easier to search through these mountains of books on the tables. So, will I go back? ABAOLUTELY! and you should, too--but plan to need longer than expected to find books of interest. They're there--you just have to search through their tables thoroughly.

Great place to find incredible books at reasonable prices. The owner is a very nice person who…read moreyou'll find helpful in finding something interesting.

This location is in a large shopping center, with plentiful parking. The interior is on the older side, slightly dingy, but it was clean enough. They seemed to have pretty much exactly what I remember: cheap tee shirts and accessories, books, games, inexpensive board games and toys, snarky magnets, crafts, posters, chips, candy, and other snacks. In the summer, I recall many pool toys and other outdoor goodies, and they seem to make a point of carrying a generous selection of seasonal/holiday treats and things. We were here about a half hour, and I wandered around without finding anything tempting. My nephew, of course, selected some fun toys, and others in my group picked out a few gifts as well as some nostalgic candy (there is a whole section of 10 and 25 cent sweets, so that's a great option for kids to pick a lil' something for themselves). They only had one employee working the cash register, and though it was not particularly busy, there were several other customers, so check out was not immediate. We marveled at the phenomenon wherein places from our memories (and really, just memories in general) seem so much better than the reality. How many times have you savored the idea of a particular dish only to, years later, finally taste it and find it....fine? That was certainly the situation here, and while it is still a fun enough little shop, and I can absolutely see the appeal for 12-16 year olds, it doesn't quite grab my adult attention so well.
