I came here on a Friday night with a large group, and this brewery had plenty of open space with live country music. They have many beers, which my friends enjoyed. I was looking forward to trying their burgers here as I heard this was their main food. Unfortunately, the burger I had was far below my expectations. It did not compare to some of the fast food burgers I have had. I opted for the bulgogi burger because it sounded interesting, and I tend to like fusion burgers. I could not tell the burger had bulgogi flavor at all. There was just some kimchi on top, which probably made the burger more expensive than the others even though it was just a little kimchi. There was nothing else special about the taste of the burger, and it did not seem worth the $20+. The fries were extremely seasoned, and I was probably the most dehydrated I had ever been from eating fries, but they did taste good. We got a large soft pretzel to share, and it was really fragrant. Came here on the Sunday to enjoy some football and a good burger. I got the bulgogi burger and it was insanely good. So much flavor. I just wanted the regular burger at first, but this one sounded awesome and it definitely fulfilled the hype. The sweet potato fries were really good also. My friend got the Parmesan fries and those were really good also. They had a really good selection of different craft beers. The bartenders were super helpful and nice and let you try something if you wanted. We sat inside even though there is an outdoor seating area that looked really nice as well. You pay for your food there then off to the bar to order drinks and have to swipe your card again. Little upset they do not serve beer in a pint glass looks more like a 12oz beer glass. My wife had the Classic Burger with Parmesan Fries and enjoyed them. The extra for the Parmesan sprinkles was a little pricey. I had the Fish & Chips two thin strips of fish with fries that were over seasoned. Need to let people with HBP know about the saltiness of your seasoning. We had a really disappointing experience. I got a classic cheeseburger- it was enh, no real flavor at all. The bun was hard and cold, like it had been sitting out way too long. The fries were honestly SO gross- they tasted old and stale. We also tried the chili fries, and they were just as bad. To top it off, we were served what felt like 200+ greasy fried pickles, all super oily, with only one tiny plastic cup of ranch to go with them and when we asked for more ranch we were given the stare of death from the girl who brought them to us (not our waitress). Even the drinks were off- iced tea with no ice! Our waitress seemed very new and completely overwhelmed, which I can understand, but overall the whole experience just missed the mark. All in all, a pretty horrible experience and definitely not somewhere we'd return to. Your hostess (young blonde lady with blue eyes) working on March 15th needs additional training. We are a family of five, and when we asked to sit at a booth, we were told she didn't know if a bigger family might come in and that the booth needed to be saved just in case. Because of this, we decided to walk out and take our business somewhere else. The hostess is the first impression of your establishment, and experiences like this reflect poorly on the service customers expect when they walk in. They relocated to a larger venue and I'm really impressed with the upgrades. The metal, wood and cement design fit the improved atmosphere of this restaurant. As a brewery they've expanded indoor seating, added an entire bar counter, lots of extra outdoor patio seating, and live music. I love how there's a roll up window in the bar area so customers can order drinks as well from the outdoor patio. An interesting feature in their patio area is they have these attached swivel seats with "arms". We've always enjoyed their food. It's what I'd call "a good fix". Take a look at some pictures for an appetizing feast with your eyes. Food is ordered through kiosks at the entrance. Good idea, and this method trending in many restaurants. I wish I had the opp to hangout once more to try their beers on tap. While I can't cease that moment, this place will surely be on my list if I ever return to TX. In Temple for family business and wanted to try local brew. Nice spot between the Hawn Hotel building and the po-po. Parking spots along the building or on the street. Place your food order and pay on touch screens as you enter. Beer selection can be made at the bar. They do not have flights, but they do let you sample. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered Classic Burgers, one medium and the other Med-Rare. Both were good. Sweet Potato fries were not available but the Reg. fries were very tasty. I would have appreciated bleu cheese and bacon as options for my burger. Also, they have a bison patty, but only if you get the chili burger. The brioche bun was soft and held it's own against the patty. Our beers were good and straight forward. The Crowd Pleaser Cream Ale is better than most. The Flat Penny Porter was easy to drink and complimented the burger. The Basic Blonde was simple and a nice palate cleanser. All and all, a great experience. read more

My family and I came here for dinner and were told there would be about a 15-minute wait, so we waited outside as requested because it was crowded. While waiting, I noticed that several other Black customers were also standing outside, some of whom had been waiting for quite some time. Meanwhile, every white customer who arrived after us was seated right away. When I went inside to ask about the wait, I noticed several empty tables. The host gave different reasons, such as "the table is ragged" or "someone is sitting there," even though no one was. More white customers continued to arrive and were seated before us. The experience made me and my family feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I truly hope the restaurant addresses this issue so that all guests are treated equally and feel valued, regardless of race. read more

**Review of new location** The building itself and ambiance is great! They stayed downtown which was great as temple of trying to bring more people down there. Tons of seating and stage outside for bands! Now let's get to the food. The old bird creek was 5/5 on food. A little on the pricy side but you could guarantee a good meal. New bird creek is new menu options and crummy food. We got the pretzel for the appetizer - where could you go wrong? - well it was way too salty and greasy. The cheese dip that came with it was very spicy and just didn't match with the pretzel. My husband gets the same thing every time previously called frito pie burger, now called chili burger. It was disgusting. The chili tasted old, he took 2 bites and was done. I would say we would be back again, but not anytime soon. For the price and what you actually get, it's not worth it. Overall experience and feeling was pretty bad. I don't do well with rude employees, which most were when we went to celebrate a big event. You walk in and it's all self service, you'll be lucky if anybody bothers to check on you at all for your entire time there. You're mated with a bunch of screens as soon as you walk in and order your food by yourself, We tried asking for help but was ignored, even when the guy next to us was getting help and was buying alcohol. But even he said that nobody greeted him or even came around to check if he needed help, especially since he was an older guy and was visible something wasn't going perfectly smooth. I guess if you buy alcohol here then you get service. Had an issue with the one male server who continuously touched his hair and face and then would touch working surfaces. I was very grateful I wasn't ordering anything from the bar or taking any supplies or condiments that he had touched. Yes it's a cool place because of the brewery, but very metallic inside and open windows. They do have an open outside dining area that looks bigger than the inside dining space. They do not have anything gluten free, no gluten free buns. We ordered a few burgers with the western burger, hot and spicy chicken sandwich, and the shroomer. We all got fries. Chicken sandwich is super spicy, and we can handle some spice. The chicken itself wasn't spicy but the sauce they put on it was, try getting it on the side. The chicken had a very weird texture, not even sure how to describe it, but it wasn't being eaten past a certain point. I ordered the western with no cheese, came out with cheese. I'm lactose intolerant, and was pretty upset about the fact that not only do they expect you to tip when you pay but that I have to order all my food on their machine and tell them exactly how I want it, and it still gets messed up. The people who brought the food out were nice, but wish there would have been an apology for the mistake. Not a big deal, but just recognition. They atleast got the burger right with the no bun. Fries were good, had some sugar on them but needed to be fried about ten more minutes so there was something of a crunch to them. Definitely wouldn't be coming back here again even if it was a free meal. Also states that it closed at 11pm, but had employees saying they were closing at 10. While visiting Temple I decided to check out Bird Creek Brewing for an early dinner. I read a lot about how delicious their food is and I figured that pairing food with beer was the best way to pass the time while in town for work. Parking was super easy and along the street. I came in on a Sunday so parking was free but be sure to read street signs for parking in case there is a charge. Upon walking in I noticed how spacious this spot is! You can definitely come in and bring a group of friends and family here as there will be table space and a seat for them. The inside/outside patio is super large! I saw a group of 15+ finishing up Sunday brunch. I bet this would be a good spot to celebrate and come together with work friends over the holidays. I sat at the bar since I was solo. High chairs and a clean and modern bar was part of the asthetic of Bird Creek. I love the vibes here. I was presented with a beer list and menu when I sat down and noticed the various options for beer here. There is a beer for every beer and non-beer drink here. Ask the bartender if you are unsure what to get. I ended up taking 2 beers to go when I left to enjoy later in the evening at my hotel. They are able to can ANY beer you want on the menu right then and there so make a note of what you liked when you are here and take a can or six to go. Food was delicious! I got the fried brussels sprouts. cheese curds, and yjr jammed bacon burger as I had read these were cited, on another reviewers review, as "must" orders. The portions are large here so be ready to eat and/or share with the company you bring. I happily ended up taking my leftovers that paired well with my beer to-go later in the evening. I saw a brunch menu for the weekend that looked delicious too. Just as I said about their beer there is literally something for everyone to eat here. I saw shrimp & grits, strip steak, fish & chips, and a couple of salads and pasta to choose from. Bar staff and wait staff were superb! I had excellent and attentive service even as the brewery was bumping and busy from Sunday brunch. Every employee was smiling and happy. I dug the music that was playing overhead too - lots of indie and rock mix of songs. I don't think it was a jukebox but I had to make a note of the great music. Next time I am in town I will definitely be stopping in to Bird Creek. They have wine, mimosas, and canned/bottled beers in addition to their Bird Creek beers on top. I've been there twice. Once for lunch, once for a late supper. The bar is understaffed. One friendly cheerful bar tender, one I never saw smile or engage with customers in any way other than slopping orders together. The bar backs were friendlier and more productive than the wait staff. The beer was good and cold but that's about it. The beer is over priced. Not even a pint. It's served in a 12oz glass or thin plastic cups. If you sit at the bar and order food and drink and are paying cash you must pay in advance before you are served. Of basically you are a hostage until your room temperature food comes 30+ minutes later. The place is open and noisy. Way too much light in the evening. Brighter than your high school cafeteria or manufacturing floor in a warehouse. Very industrial feeling. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen. Very loud in the evening. Young couples drinking beer, with their young board children. More of a family free for all than a pub brewery. I had side salads both times I was there. Both times it was not chilled. So both times is was warm and wilted. Both times the portion were small. I also ordered a chicken sandwich off the specialty burger menu. It was missing two main ingredients when served at room temperature. It then took several minutes to request them from the distracted bar staff and several minutes to get them from the kitchen. And like I said earlier, I was forced to pay in advance so I felt trapped in a bad food and bar experience. If you are looking for a noisy industrial place to drink with your kids, and are not looking for food or drink value, this is the place. read more

He was also eye rolling when asked about the name of the place. Maybe we weren't cool or young enough to sit at his bar. I had a salad with fried chicken on top with ranch dressing and it was delicious, the ranch is good, I think it might be made in house. My husband had a hotdog and loved it.
