Zoe is excellence personified. We hired her as our "partial" planner for a destination wedding that included a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and reception. I put "partial" in quotation marks because the label fails to capture how integral Zoe was to the success of our weekend and how supported we felt throughout the entire planning process. Here are just some of the ways she excels. First, Zoe has deep expertise. As my fiancé and I shared our wedding vision -- which largely took the form of spitballing half-baked ideas -- Zoe offered thoughtful advice on how to bring it to life. She was always supportive and collaborative, focused on how we could accomplish our goals rather than whether they were possible. She knows, and has worked with, all the venues and vendors in the Mendocino area, and she steered us toward those best suited to the event we wanted. Every vendor she recommended was talented, thoughtful, and kind, and it was clear each one held Zoe in the highest regard and loved working with her. Second, Zoe is meticulous. She knows everything (I mean every last detail) that needs to happen for a successful event, and she makes sure it does. Our venue required bringing in numerous outside vendors and substantial rentals, and Zoe coordinated all the moving parts so that everything came together in harmony. It was as though she conducted an orchestra that, despite never having rehearsed together, performed brilliantly on opening night. Our already high expectations were quickly surpassed as we moved from event to event, each one more beautiful (in every sense of the word) than we could have imagined. Third, Zoe is resourceful and creative. She doesn't just coordinate; she gets her hands dirty. As one example: just a week before our event, when we realized we needed more decorative elements for our western-themed rehearsal dinner, Zoe proposed hay bales from the feed store. Then she arranged the rental herself and delivered them to our venue personally. They turned out to be an inspired choice. Some of our favorite photos from the whole weekend are of us sitting on those hay bales, laughing as our friends toasted us. Finally, Zoe is a wonderful human being. From our very first meeting, her warmth and enthusiasm were obvious. Throughout the planning process, she showed genuine excitement for us as a couple and for our weekend. On the rare occasion we felt a flicker of anxiety with a vendor, she was quick to reassure us and fix the issue. And on the wedding day itself, she was every bit as essential. Even though the description was "month-of" she provided steady guidance and clear direction over the course of the year before our wedding that helped us feel confident and comfortable leading up to our big day. Zoe was very nimble in her approach, she listened and steered us in the right direction for every decision to make sure our day would turn out just as (or even better!) than we had imagined. During the actual wedding day she made everything look effortless and we barely had to pay attention to any of the logistics of the day. At no point were we worried that something was not going to happen or happen as planned. Zoe knows all of the vendors in town and they all know her. This goes a long way. If you need something, she knows someone who can do it. Zoe is a familiar face to all of the vendors and they all seem to enjoy working with her and each other, which adds to the magic of the wedding atmosphere. And because she knows all the local vendors, she was able to foresee any potential challenges of the day and take care of them well in advance without us even needing to think about it. While we only had Zoe "officially" for the month leading up to the wedding, we met with her 10 months out to do a venue walkthrough, and she did check-ins a few times leading up to the month-of, both to make sure we were on-track and could help provide advice on some of the things we had no expertise in (how much time does it take for people to eat dinner? how do we move everyone inside after happy hour?).  We got married on November 2nd, 2019, which for anyone that lives in California, you'll remember as falling at the tail-end of a 6-day PG&E forced power outage through most of Northern California, including Mendocino. This meant that in the week leading up to our wedding, we had vendors back out who could no longer get supplies to the area in time, meaning we had to come up with quick alternate options, and make a mitigation plan in case the power didn't come back online, all without power through the area. Zoe was truly a lifesaver, staying in touch with all of our vendors/hotels to get a pulse on what things we're looking like, and finding a last-minute dessert option through her local connections in the Mendocino community. We felt at ease with her at the helm. Our wedding was at an untraditional venue - an off-the-grid farm with little infrastructure for a big event. We had to bring in a moving truck full of rentals, mobile toilets and nearly no cell phone reception. Zoe mastered the farm layout and the event flow, which was incredibly important since we had so many vendors who all needed to know their place and time. When the generator went out during dinner - something bound to happen and so typical of the farm's infrastructure - she fixed the situation quickly and calmly. I'll be honest, we appreciated the blackout as an opportunity to eat and enjoy the candlelight! I spoke with other wedding planners/coordinators, and all of them paled in comparison to Zoe. We worked with her for the last month before our wedding and she was our day of coordinator. Wow what an excellent service provided by Zöe and Chris and her gang. We had a medium sized family/friends wedding out in the remote woods near Mendocino. She could not have provided better service, nor better response to a few curveballs that inevitably crop up. The only downside was the DJ equipment subcontractor, who should not be used, but that was not her fault, and she was outstanding in sorting things out. We had a really great experience working with Zoe. We chose the "day of/month of" option she has and it was perfect for what we were looking for. We hired Zoe to plan our wedding at the Harbor House in Elk, CA, and she did an amazing job! Zoe helped us plan an entire weekend of activities at the Apple Farm (welcome event), a tea ceremony, the wedding at Harbor House, and a farewell brunch. It was a beautiful, elegant and amazing weekend. Zoe has a very strong network in the Mendocino area, and was able to recommend many high quality vendors at reasonable prices, which made the planning process much easier. She was also able to leverage her relationships to get specific rentals, deliveries, etc. which otherwise would have been difficult. Zoe is very resourceful, and when we faced issues such as policy changes at our venue, she stayed positive and worked out solutions to ensure we could execute on our vision.
