If there were more stars, my daughter and I would definitely give Khamoor an unlimited amount. We first met with Khamoor in August 2018, along with 2 other florists. Sara, my daughter, wanted to create a "forest" and "magical" setting inside the white backdrop of the tent at the Maccallum House for her reception. When we showed the florists photos of hanging vines from a tent posted in Pinterest as a thought provoker, only Khamoor quickly jumped on board to offer other ways to build a forest in the tent and was not put off by the prospect of ladders! She was then on-board to create a table mock-up in February 2019 where we paired table flowers in the colors we were considering with Tuscany Wedgewood napkins from La Tavola, a cheesecloth table runner, mis-matched antique crystal glassware, and gold mercury glass votives. She suggested cut fruit be added to the design and tall blue tapers to bring it all together. As we were finishing up, she mentioned an idea for a drift wood design for the place card table. Who knew it would be a work of art? As the next step we received a detailed, descriptive, many page proposal with pricing that helped us shape the final design, to a price point we were comfortable with. Khamoor was great at offering trade-offs to optimize the design and manage the expense. To bring Sara's dream to reality Khamoor planted dahlia bulbs and rose plants in the colors Sara wanted in her garden in Spring. We saw them grow from nothing to handfuls of glorious blooms a few days before the wedding. But NOTHING could have prepared us for the overall design of the tent and the beauty of it when we walked inside last Saturday. I hope the photos give you a sense of it, but believe me, it was 10 times better in person. Our guests said it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to. And I agree. Khamoor is an absolute dream to work with and I can't recommend her and her work enough. From the beginning, we knew we picked the right florist from the sheer amount of "Oh you're using Khamoor?! She's incredible!!" comments we got from our other vendors. Her process is so lovely and stress free- she really takes the time to ask questions to understand our vision along with who we are as a couple before sending along a detailed summary and vision board of the day. It was very easy to ask her to make amendments and when I asked her to create a dramatic installment over the dance floor that resembled a "fluffy cloud", she delivered flawlessly. Our 78 person wedding was inside of a very large tent and my biggest concern was that the tent would feel too empty. Khamoor ensured that her florals were proportional to the vastness of the tent and created a warm and inviting space. I had a large % of guests come up to me and even message me after our wedding raving about our florals and how stunning our tent looked. Her and her husband personally came down to check up on and fix one of the installments after a large gust of wind knocked one of them down. Khamoor is an incredible artist with a remarkable sense of design. Her arrangements are stunning and unique, and she is kind and easy to work with. It's no overstatement to say that she is the best florist on the Mendocino Coast. I reached out to Khamoor about six weeks before my extremely intimate backyard wedding in Fort Bragg. We were planning the event on the fly, and we didn't give her much lead time. She sprang into action with wit and verve and a welcoming can-do attitude. COVID-19 safety was our highest priority, but we also had dreams of a boho cowboy poet wedding. Khamoor jumped right in and created an enchanted landscape of dahlias, cherry tomatoes, rosemary, and many other beautiful plant friends. We loved the outside-the-box touches of culinary herbs and fruits amongst the incredible flowers in Khamoor's arrangements. "Floral Design" doesn't begin to cover it. Khamoor's a set stylist, a collector of all things vintage cool, and a treasure trove of ideas. Got wild expectations? Consider them exceeded. Khamoor procured so many vintage pieces (plates, dining chairs, a fainting couch (swoon!), tons and tons of quits, and a body-form lamp (mama wants!)) specifically for our wedding that her husband accused her of being off her rocker. Which is apparently just where you want your florist/designer. The woman is beyond patient. In the past year, I've emailed her more times than I've emailed my mom, my dad, and my partner combined. Every time I spoke with her, I felt more inspired and more at ease, and the end result was so incredible that, rather than writing well wishes to the bride and groom, our guests ranted and raved about what a rock star Khamoor was. (Maybe we should forward our postcards onto her?) When it came time to say our goodbyes, my eyes got all wet (I think this is what most people refer to as crying). When looking at florists near our venue, Cuffey's Cove, Khamoor from Mendocino Floral caught our eye for her loose, natural, and beautiful aesthetic. We reached out and hired her after a few email exchanges and she was a delight throughout the entire process. We told her loosely what we were thinking for flowers (key colors, a couple of favorite blooms, vibe of the wedding) and she came back to us with a multipage document that described each creation in beautiful detail--we could envision every bouquet and arrangement. It was apparent that Khamoor enjoys her work and puts great care into it. When it came to the wedding, she worked with our coordinator for timing. She knew the venue well and worked efficiently. She worked so seamlessly that we didn't have a chance to meet her the day of the wedding, but when we arrived at the ceremony and reception site, we were blown away by the beauty she created. Every bouquet and arrangement was as she described, but even more gorgeous. She went above and beyond and incorporated tree branches along the barn support poles that really elevated and brought together the decor in the barn. The first time I met Khamoor was at the Design Day at the showroom for Mendocino Weddings back in February of 2012. You can say that I am very particular about the details of my wedding and always knew I wanted certain types of flowers, look and feel for my wedding day. I remember showing Khamoor some pictures I pinned from Pinterest to give her some ideas of what I would want. I knew from the moment we met that I wanted to work with Khamoor, sometimes you just get a great feeling about someone based on first impression and I got that with Khamoor. I would say that her website does not do her justice....her work is amazing because she is an artist, she has a true vision for design and style and that is not something that you can learn...some people are just born with it. I knew I wanted lanterns for my centerpieces and later decided to do a mix of lanterns and stacked books, I emailed Khamoor pictures and ideas to make sure we are on the same page. I was very confident she would deliver on her promises and would make my vision come to life so having her as a vendor made my life very easy. I decided at the last minute to add on a ceremony arbor, I wanted a bamboo arbor that is held together by two flower box with the ability for the flowers to be re-used during the reception. I had emailed her a picture that I found on pinterest of exactly what I wanted. She was able to accommodate this last minute request. On the day of the wedding I saw everything for the first time....the first time I saw my bouquet I was beyond thrilled that my bouquet had beautiful peonies in them...I wanted peonies badly but knew they were not in season so thought I was going to get delia which was the next best thing for me....it turns out I got both and they were amazing. She had to get the peonies shipped in and it was the BEST surprise I could ask for. Even the bridesmaids had peonies in their bouquet as well. When I arrived at the ceremony, I saw the arbor for the first time and I completely loved it. I loved the details of the flowers in the mason jars hanging from the chairs on the isle, loved the rose petals that lined up the pathway. Everything was just perfect. when I saw the reception centerpieces and how it tied in with overall the look of the Barn at Spring Ranch I was thrilled. Khamoor did an AMAZING job at arranging the flowers over the lanterns, the details on the stacked books, the candles and the vases with flowers were all perfectly arranged. The Spring Ranch barn is so beautiful and rustic on its own but adding the flowers and elegant elements to it made it even more special. Khamoor is beyond talented and so creative, she really did help me put together my dream wedding and it wouldn't have been possible with her.
