I cannot recommend Prasada highly enough as an event planner. Let me the five top reasons why: 1. She is calm, steadfast and truly mindful in details and countenance. (Her second 'job' is helping people learn how to regulate their nervous system using breath work.) 2. Our weekend - which was at a venue (our retreat center, Whispertree Retreat) that was largely outdoors. The weekend weather went from hoped-for blue skies and billowing white clouds to a 30 degree temperature drop and rain forecast. Prasada patiently held the line assisting us with a Plan A, B AND C for the weekend, depending on the weather, a call we would make the morning of. I cannot tell you how much forethought this took! But Prasada did not complain ONCE. Rather, she held the course and even spearheaded the final plan C option that eventually turned out to work perfectly(!!) for us. 3. During the event, itself, Prasada spun plates behind the scenes. protecting us from a few (unavoidable) things that happened - some of which I STILL think we don't know about. 4. I really care about details and how things look. Beauty is so much a part of what people can notice and feel that helps make an event feel warm, welcoming and heart-opening. Prasada gets that, too, and has a great eye! I really trusted her to set things up just as I asked, and even improve on the outcome. 5. Prasada ALSO works at an event rental company. She has years of experience understanding issues related space and rentals and could probably help you address these issues in her SLEEP. When my fiancee and I were planning our wedding weekend in Mendocino, we had a DIY vision for the whole thing. We wanted to do the work ourselves, and enlist friends and family to help out in key roles. As the wedding got closer, though, we realized that we were going to have to hire someone to direct the actual wedding day, overseeing our volunteer army of friends, managing rentals, catering, dealing with furniture-rearranging at the venue, coordinating babysitters, and handling all the unexpected things that we knew would come up. On the Friday before our daughter's wedding in August, we hosted a beach BBQ for all of our guests (just over 100). We wanted a casual environment where we could combine lots of beautiful outdoor space, good food, activities for adults & children to achieve a festive, get-to-know-each-other party. We worked with Prasada to plan & cater the event for us and what a fun evening we had! We opted for the burgers/hot dogs/portobello mushroom menu with grilled corn, herbed potato salad & a yummy green salad. The food was terrific and everyone found something for them. We were very lucky to have a phenomenal, calm night on the beach, but we are sure we would have still loved it with a bit of wind and a bit cooler temperature (she provides blankets and builds a fire for s'mores and congeniality). In addition to what Prasada provides (absolutely everything you need), we added a guitar/singer, a shuttle to and from Mendocino for our guests, and porta-potties (as we opted to host the event further down the beach away from the public facilities). My daughter, new son-in-law, and all our guests raved about the beach BBQ and how much fun they had. Prasada was a dream to work with. She provided a clear estimate and list of options to choose from. She and her team took care of the set-up and clean-up. Her team did a terrific job - gracious, fun, and helpful. Prasada was the work horse for my wedding a few weeks back. Not only was she my coordinator, but her and her team also took on the catering side of the event. After hearing my menu over one of our fun phone calls, she insisted on catering. Having her as our caterer even knocked off some of the cost of her being our coordinator, she even threw in a hired coordinator to make sure everything would get done. Prasada suggested an evening on Big River Beach complete with a barbeque, bonfire and smores. It was fabulous; the evening for many of our guests was the highlight of the weekend.
