I really wanted to love ZOEM. But after having lived in my apt I started to notice some work were very carelessly done. The ceiling, window sills, and trim were painted with poor quality and it seems it did not dry properly bc I can see imprints of anything where behr paint was used. The window sill cracks that were patched are starting to show again. Yes I chose the cheaper option but ZOEM advised the option would last one year at least and I've only been here under 5 months. The caulking for my bathroom tub were not evenly distributed in various places so visually I do not like how it looks and even after requesting it be redone it still looks sloppy. I also requested the shower head to be swapped and was sent on a wild search for the parts that it needed due to the threading/ size of the shower head differences. In the end to be told it was not possible. But it was possible. A family plumber friend took a look and swapped it to a new shower head without any additional parts. The next work was changing outlet plates to give it a refresh but upon checking the work done many of the wall plates were not properly secured to the wall and the explanation to me was there was no supporting structure inside the metal box to secure to. I also had semi custom closets done and that I do like very much. Though they were called customs, I don't think that's correct bc the pieces were ordered. Lastly ZOEM had changed several lighting fixtures that was not part of my contract. I asked if lighting fixtures can be changed and the reno project lead Annie said of course and that "you better take advantage of us while we are here" which led me to think she' was doing me a favor. WRONG. Later on Annie brought up needing to calculate cost of all light fixtures changed so I was caught by surprise. Never once was price mentioned and I feel as a business it should have been brought up immediately because you cannot throw a price at someone after the work is done. All in all, I felt ZOEM did the job very literally - as stated on contract, but did not spend the time on details and the work was quite expensive compared to other quotes I received. I ultimately chose ZOEM because the project lead Annie had good suggestions and creative thinking. But that was not worth the price I paid. read more
