Two words: STAY AWAY. This guy is bad news he'll talk all over you in a very condescending tone. And I only got so far as to ask him for a quote. After sending him a dozen photos of the porch repair work I needed done we made an appointment for a free estimate the next day. 1. He came right on time with his co worker. 2. Co worker looks at my 125 year old historic Victorian house and asks me if I want to replace the turned porch spindles with PCV spindles. Ok, I think, these are probably not the right guys for this type of work. 3. I say no I can't use that, it must be wood -- authentic to 1897. Morgan then asks me if I " won the lottery or something? ". What!? Is this his way of saying he's going to be very expensive or asking can I afford him? I don't know, but I thought it was very strange .... And very unprofessional. 4. I tell him that No, there are no lottery winnings and that i want his best price. I mention that am getting quotes from other carpenters ( who wouldn't?) and he asked me how much they had quoted. Ok, Another red flag: I NEVER do business with people who try to lowball. It's just bad business. 5. And I told him so. It was then Morgan called his co worker over and told him he wanted to leave. The co-worker was very annoyed and asked Morgan why had he wasted his time!? They then both turned and left. So thanks for wasting MY time. Good riddance. After hearing so many horror stories from so many people about contractors who take your deposit and you never hear from them again, or they get 3/4 of the way through a job and suddenly cease all contact, I procrastinated on my home project for several years, not wanting to deal with that hassle. But, I can honestly say, Morgan was the total opposite. He was responsive, he was proactive, he showed up, he finished the job approximately when he said he would, and genuinely cared about his work. He and his crew set up a lean-to in my backyard so they could cut wood in the rain and they worked weekends to catch-up when they briefly fell behind. No project is without its share of hiccups, but whatever hiccups we had were relatively minor and we were able to navigate them as they arose in a frank and honest manner. Not to mention, we are absolutely delighted with the end product. He converted a non-functional basement bathroom into a functioning mop closet, which involved relocating plumbing inside our walls. My wood floors are now a work of art!!! I was so worried about this project not going well as our house is more than 100 years old, but Morgan knew exactly how to gently and painstakingly refinish them. He was a pleasure to work with too, very funny and enthusiastic about his work. Morgan did a fantastic job with a small carpentry project in our apartment. A pre-war door in our apartment was damaged and had a big hole in it. Replacing a pre-war door would have cost on the order of $1000-2000 because of the weird dimensions and being solid wood. But Morgan saved us that headache and did a fantastic job repairing the hole and he did it quickly. It's really not noticeable that any patchwork was done. We need to have two custom tables built for our design teams. Each table had specific requires in terms of the shape, height, and shelving. One even required a light box to be built into the table. First, Morgan came and took measurements, that came back with Mock-up samples of the the tables with various materials and finishes so we could both see and feel the material. Also sent me progress updates every couple of days with photo so I could see how the finished tables were coming together. When we received the final product is was nothing short of incredible. Can't think of a better person to trust with your carpentry projects. read more

Morgan is a complete and utter joke of a professional. I've never left a review before (for anything) and I doubt that I ever will again. But this guy was so ridiculous I honestly hope to stray anyone from anywhere away from ever having to deal with him. There were multiple times where he was high or smelled like weed. He also drank on the job, or as soon as the day was over, grabbed a bottle of liquor to drink while I drove him home. Yes I had to drive him home because he doesn't drive. He does however own a car. And one day "while working" was on speaker phone and got into a heated argument about his ownership rights of said car. During that argument he cut his toe open and began bleeding over the floors. This is also a good time to point out that Morgan works barefoot, often. Yes he is a contractor who works barefoot. If this wasn't enough, at random times throughout the night he would bombard me with a flood of texts trying to game plan the next day. While to him this might seem like being communicative it actually comes across as a man on a late night binger chasing his next high and trying to make sure that his next dollar is coming the next day. He is also generally rude to most people he interacts with whether it be a day laborer he hires or an employee at Home Depot trying to find something for him. Part of our agreement was that I would provide some "sweat equity" as he called it to cut cost. What this turned into, was him constantly complaining to me about how I need to prioritize my life to be around for him. This is a good time to mention that in the middle of this project my wife gave birth to our 2nd child. And yes, Morgan was well aware that my wife was due because he met her, we talked about it and I told him that once my wife gave birth I would have to tend to her, my new born and my 20 month old child. Morgan's problem was that he took an exceptionally long time to put together ikea furniture like two weeks time and then later took even longer to make shelves and put them up. And when he finally got anything accomplished he was completely self gratifying as if doing what was required to be a done was something special as opposed to just his job. On top of all of this, Morgan is a liar. Not once, but twice he said he was at the apartment working when he was not. When I called him out on it, a slew of "I mean I just left" or "I'm right around the corner" spewed from his dishonest text. He also lied about pieces missing from a pulley system I ordered just so he wouldn't have to assemble it (I put it together after watching a 3 min you tube video) If this wasn't enough, he lost the keys I gave him for the apartment then came up with an excuse that his dog ate the key. YES!!! his dog ate his homework excuse! Then he probably found the key and told me that he mistook my key for another key that his dog ate. I was so over this clown that I wasn't going to even take the time to write a review but after I thought I was finally done with him and never going to have to interact with him again, he sent me another string of text saying that he wanted to come back to the apartment to fix something for the "safety of my children" and to install a kids chair to the wall which was agreed to earlier. He then rescheduled and asked me for more money and a ride to come to my house and do the right job and finish what he was supposed to do. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I blocked him from my phone and I will either fix this stuff myself or hire someone who is an actual professional to do the job right. The only reason he has even one star is because I have to rate him with at least one star in order to post this review. read more
