Life got in the way and our efforts were just not making the cut.... it was time to turn to a Professional! Thinking about leaving our "baby" in the care of someone else for 4 whole weeks was a bit scary at first! As soon as Banks met Liz and seemed to just melt around her all of our fears were quickly gone! Liz has the presence where dogs just know to respect her :) 4 weeks later Banks was walking on a leash well enough for a toddler to walk him, had learned how to "Place" on his bed and went into his Kennel with ease. He no longer jumped all over us and had a sense of calm about him we had never seen before. I only wish I would have taken a Before video as the changes were that remarkable. Banks is a very smart dog but we were very amazed at the things he was able to master in his 4 weeks at Carolina Canine Training. I can't recommend this team enough and am so thankful we have a place to send our next puppy!! She edited her videos so we could see a lot of what they worked on each day. Claire really understood Shadow and his needs. At pick up, she did a great job explaining everything to us, guiding us on how to follow through at home, and loving on Shadow one last time. You could tell he was sad to leave her. Claire was so encouraging and loving towards him. Shadow's been home less than a week and because of Claire, he is behaving so much better. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

Our young Ruby was turning into a monster of sorts, treating us like cattle during walks and even getting to the point of pure destruction. Lorrie worked with Ruby and honestly saved her life. If not for Lorrie's unbelievable training we would not have been able to keep Ruby in our lives. From that point on, Ruby was a perfect angel on her walks, respected each of us as her master, and was the most loving, caring and wonderful dog we could have ever hoped for. Five years ago my wife and I decided it was time to add another member to the family. We were looking for a small-mid sized dog, and fell in love with a Shiba Inu puppy whom we named Nala. We knew right away we would be signing Nala up for Lorrie's puppy classes, but little did we know, Shiba's had a nasty reputation and it was going to take a lot more work to mold her into the dog we wanted. Lorrie worked with her diligently and as Nala's Shiba attitude peaked, she worked harder than ever training her during the day, and keeping us accountable at home during the evening. After going through Lorrie's full program Nala was TRAINED! All of those typical Shiba characteristics were gone! She stopped wiggling out of her collar and running for the hills. She stopped air biting and showing her teeth. She was an angel just like our dear Ruby. To this day, friends, family and even strangers on the street compliment us on Nala's behavior. Our dog pretzel had a great first day going through his orientation and play day! It was our first…read moretime going to doggy day care and I was more nervous than he was. The staff was super accommodating with my questions and they were also super thorough on getting pretzels background to ensure he and the other campers stay safe which I really appreciate. Drop off was easy, all of the other dogs were super excited to be there and went straight back which gave me peace of mind knowing other dogs enjoyed it so much. I love that we can watch the dogs on the multiple cameras and that we have a schedule on where they will be through the day. Come pick up time, he had a great progress report and was cleared to come back anytime he wanted! He was also exhausted which was the goal! I like that they offer a discount on return visits within 30 days of orientation too. We are excited for pretzel to continue his socialization and to burn off all his energy in a fun, safe environment.
