Scrooged For the last several years I have hired Zoro Christmas lights to install and remove my holiday lights. I decided to purchase the lights from him and enter into a deal for annual service and a 5 year guarantee on the lights back in 2018. Fast forward to November 2021 to where this turns from a Christmas story to a horror story in the blink of an eye. Back in August I receive a text asking if I would like my lights hung again this year just like years past and "oh by the way I have upped the price 15%". I indicate that yes I would like to them hung in early November similar to prior years. November comes so I reach out to make sure Zoro has me on the schedule and receive the following reply "YES" November 30th. Although this is not what I requested I reply back with that would be fine. In the afternoon of November 30th I reach out to make sure they are still going to arrive that day and I am told the following: "unfortunately no, my guy fell off the ladder we are in urgent care. IDK when where or how at this point bc my guys safety is first. I am sorry I will get back to you when I know more" I replied back that I hope his crew would be ok, slightly confused by the message I asked if that means he will not be installing my lights. The response I got back form Zoro was "let me worry about your lights I will drop them off tomorrow". Well 90 minutes later their truck pulls up with 4 guys in it, one jumps out grabs a box of lights on leaves them on my porch. My wife comes to the door to ask what's going on and not a word was mentioned they just turned and walked away. Just what am I going to do with a ball of lights in a bin when I hired this service so I didn't have to hang them, just super frustrated at this point so I look at reviews on this company? Yep he has pulled the same stunt for years. I chose this company over others because I saw interviews from many local TV stations on the quality of his work. This is why I feel the real story needs to be told, he is quick to take your money to buy the lights but when it comes to following through he is a joke. This has taken the joy out of the season and I would hate for others to get taken as well. His prices are super high and you will end up with less than all your lights returned to your porch one day. Zoro's Christmas Lights is an ingenious company. They help you design the outdoor Christmas light plan, they take care of all the shopping, they put it up, they take it down and they store it for next year!!!! Martin the owner is a complete gem, not only do they do a fantastic job they are quick, clean and soooo nice! Now that spring has sprung, guess what they do Windows and power wash!!! They are the best. They got in touch with me first and set it all up. As usual they are the best!!! read more

We used Zoro for 1 year. The price for the lights and the service of hanging up the lights was very high. The team that put up the lights did an ok job--they left a bit of a mess after leaving that I had to clean up. We had a couple problems getting the lights on and working, and Zoro fixed this. Zoro took down the lights and stored them. The following year, Zoro gave us a very high quote for how much it would cost to put the lights back up (much higher than what he had told us the cost would be the previous year). We asked for the lights back, and Zoro was extremely rude and unprofessional, and even yelled at us on the phone. We would avoid this company. read more

I worked for Martin for about a month at first he seemed like a great guy. Never came in late never missed a day. Worked 60+ hrs a week for him. Then he calls me one day out the blue telling me that I'm missing little things and he's gonna have to let me go. Mind you I've done every single thing this guy has asked to the tee. Went on every single roof he needed done without question some I'd literally hanging on for dear life with the only piece of safety equipment being a pair of roofing boots. No harnesses no planks, nothing. There's one of two reasons this man fired me. One reason I believe why is cuz he couldn't afford what he was paying me. I came in making 25$ an hr which was great until he fired me a month later. Second reason is because in my spare time I smoke weed. I have a card and I've had one since I was 18 and as soon as he figured this out he started acting very different. And I honestly find this biased as hell. Considering after work on some days when we were out of town I watched the whole crew sit back and have some drinks, but I can't smoke in my spare time? Mind you a week before he fired me he asked me to stick around all year round. And he gave me absolutely no warning no 2 week notice nothing. Yet he tells every person he sees that "he takes care of his guys" yet all I got was shit on. I had a lot going on before I started this job and when I fist started I had every intention on leaving at the end of the season as I'm in the middle of trying to get all my permits and license for my own business this job was meant to help me get there money wise. And all he did was delay everything I was trying to get done. Dude does some great Christmas lights but I'd think twice before you work for him. A lot of manipulation a lot of shadiness. Like I said dude tried so hard to convince me that he was a good person to work for it was ridiculous. Then fired me for absolutely no reason proving he was not. And if you do work for him make him sigh a fair termination clause or something I will definitely remember that mistake. I'm leaving reviews on everything so that anyone that goes to work for him will see this. And hopefully thinks twice. And don't trust a world out this guys mouth cuz out of all the people I've worked for I've never worked for someone so low/fake/shady dude had me convinced I'd want to work for him the rest my life then fired me out the blue shits was wild read more

He is a crook!!! He ripped the lights off our home with no care at all then tried to charge us double because he couldn't return them for new ones! He has zero integrity and I would never trust him again. He will return lights to you you never had that don't work. We spent thousand of dollars and got back maybe 20 strands that work. We've used Zoros for 3 yrs now. Despite what they claim, I no longer believe they are actually "storing" the xmas lights we originally purchased, because every year after the first year, we have had less lights. Last year, they didn't run the lights all the way down the front of our garage like they were supposed to. This year, we have a small tree in front of our house with lights only up 2/3 of the way. For what we have paid them, this is ridiculous. Look elsewhere, you can do better. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional owner. Have used their service for years. Called them earlier in October to ask about getting our light install appointment scheduled. We were told "oh we don't service your area anymore". Didn't get the impression they had any intention of contacting us to let us know that nor to return our lights to us they store every off season. Owner is a jerk. Avoid at all costs. Would give them zero stars if that was an option. read more

Unreliable. Scheduled a day and time but when I asked to move it forward not only was I told I didn't have a scheduled date I was treated in a poor manner. They may do Christmas lights but are in no way professional. read more

They installed Christmas lights for me in 2016 and I referred my two neighbors and a close friend that lives up the road from me, which in turn made my price cheaper. He explained to me that next year (2017) would be cheaper because I already have the lights and all I would have to pay for was installation. When I contacted him in 2017 he wasn't returning my call. Finally when it was October he contacted me saying he never promised a cheaper price. Thank god I saved my receipt that he wrote on to show him that my price would be around $375, he realized he lied to us and agreed to call back with a installation date for that price. Never called us nor did he ever return our calls OR my neighbors or friends calls! Than came spring of 2018 and I received a text asking if I wanted my windows washed......?! My neighbors and friends received the same text! After receiving the text he said sorry we were busy I'll come this year! He pulled the same crap on me and my neighbors Christmas 2018. Now today my neighbors and I receive a text AGAIN asking if we want window washing! I told him to take us off his contact list and that his services are disappointing. His response to me was, "I'm sorry it didn't work out." ...? Is this a joke! You charge people full price for lights and installation that you know very well we wouldn't be able to put back up our selves because you mangled and shoved them into a box, lights half popped off, so of course we'd have to call you! This guy is a scam and he's done this to four families! He charges you high and promises to come back next year with a cheaper price knowing he won't return for you to be able to get a cheaper price! I highly recommend this company for installation of Christmas lights. This is the second season we have used them. Each time they have communicated when they were coming out and were right on time. The lights are beautiful and professionally installed. We will use them every year. read more
