    a patio with flagstone

Zack and team did a very good job constructing a stone walkway and patio at our home in Weaverville. They also filled our raised garden beds and applied mulch throughout the yard. The crew was efficient, polite and friendly. They worked on a Saturday to make up for a lost day of bad weather. They put straw and grass seed down on areas of the side yard they had walked on and transported materials through to get to the backyard. They were careful of the existing fence and screened patio, and were able to preserve some existing plants. Pricing was competitive and work was done per schedule. I would have given them 5 stars except we had a few questions during the project and our project manager was never onsite or reachable (we never saw him again after the first day). We had to contact Zack directly or work with the crew lead (who was very knowledgeable and should probably be paid as the project manager, too). I would recommend them and would use them again for future landscaping work.

Zach and his team was all hands on deck!

Poor. They did not follow written instructions. Thus, causing more corrective work and potential expense.

Where do I start??? I hired Jeff Cornett to dig a foundation and lay block. He promised once I…read morepaid him I would have to do nothing else to do and guaranteed that I would pass all the inspections. I have been trying to repair the mess he created ever since and ended up spending another 1000$ plus dollars to finally get my inspections. He took no tIme laying out the footings. They were completely off square. He then laid the block hanging over the edge of the footing by 4 inches in places. I ended up digging them back out myself. He did not seal the walls as promised and instead mixed the sealant into the stucco. The structure ended up being several inches off level and 1 and 3/4 inches off square! And on and on and on. Do not hire this man!! You will be sorry.

Would NOT recommend at all! Initial contract was for a 24'x25' slab for a garage, $1900 for labor,…read morehis estimate was $1700 for materials (to be paid for by me) when he ordered the first load of gravel he underestimated the quantity needed which would have thrown the job out of budget, so we reduced the slab size to 20'x25'. The final cost of materials was 2537.20, over $800 more than his estimate for a smaller slab... The final product was a slab that starting from the high corner was out of level 4 1/2", 6" and 6 1/2" going counter clockwise to the other corners and nothing flat between those points! (obviously, a level was never used on this job!). Also, no footer was put on the adjusted side (going from the 24' to 20' width) or the front. I ended up with an unusable slab, about $900 over his original estimate of cost, with inadequate footers that cracked down the middle within 2 months. (I'm not even sure he ordered the concrete with the fiber like he was supposed to, since you can usually see traces of it on the edges and surface of a slab that it is in.) With trash left behind, a form board half buried left behind, concrete cowpies left in the yard. Completely unprofessional, useless job!

I will have to say that weather did play a roll in some of the delays, but we have a home business and set four different times aside where we shut down in order to allow for the job to be done and allow for drying. None of those times were met, and I don't feel that in all cases weather was a factor, and revenue was lost. I feel that communication played a big factor. Calls and e-mails were not returned, and when they were, excuses were given to the effect that larger jobs were taking precedence. The folks were nice and indeed personable, but smaller jobs don't seem to be their forte. Again I will say that they did finally finish the job adequately, eventually, which is more than I can say about other companies in the area which never even bothered to return even the initial phone call. I would use them again, but would not hold my breath waiting for the job to get done. By the way, I'm still waiting for a receipt for part of the work that was done and that has been almost a month. I have tried to honest and fair with my review and in no way saying that their work was not good. Just slow and unaccommodating to the customer.

While it is true that the crew at Asphalt RX is personable, it is not an easy crew to work with…read more Once on the job, they work consistently; however, what they view as a completed job may not satisfy many people. Because of their failure to call me to set up a schedule, and the fact that they did not return my calls, I had to terminate their job. In the end, they charged me 80% for a job that was 60~65% completed. Like many other companies, they are not happy to work on small jobs.
