I wasn't planning to do the work this year, but Jordan offered me a very attractive price (lowered…read morethe offered price 3 times) in order to get the job. The crew showed up on time at the agreed upon date. This vendor had previously done work for me with no problems on a prior job and I was expecting everything to go smoothly. I even referred them to my neighbor who hired them for some additional work to be done while they were onsite at my house. Unfortunately, there was a disagreement about what 2 large branches were supposed to be trimmed on a large oak tree. I did not get the work done that I had agreed upon with Jordan. I needed a large branch removed that was in danger of falling on my neighbor's shed. That had been discussed at length with Jordan and was the primary reason for the job. A different and much smaller branch was removed instead. Stump grinding was part of the job and that part was completed as agreed. The stump grinding equipment was left in my neighbor's driveway and a truck came to pick it up. The truck drove across my lawn. This was really not necessary since the equipment was parked in a driveway and easily accessible without driving across my lawn. This is not a big deal for me (my lawn is ok) but some folks do get upset about this stuff. Misunderstandings about which branches were to be trimmed can happen. However, I don't feel that they really cared to try and resolve the issue with a reasonable compromise in good faith. Poor attitude. I paid them in full for taking down a different branch and will now have to hire another vendor to finish the job. This vendor is no longer welcome on my property. If you do use this vendor, make sure you get each branch clearly marked.

Don got me the written quote about 5 days later and was a little bit higher than other quotes I received but not by much. I appreciated his willingness to come out on a Sunday that was a holiday and his at that point quick response time so I wanted to work with him. The day he sent me the quote he let me know he would be out of town for the weekend fo DJ a wedding (his other business). I emailed him back to ask him about a specific controller I wanted to use that would integrate with my home automation system. The following Monday I hadn't heard back from him so I emailed him that night to follow up, not a big deal he was out over the weekend. Still got no response. I called him Wednesday to follow up again since I still had not heard from him, when I mentioned I had emailed him and hadn't heard back he immediately started getting upset with me and told me I said I was going to be out of town. Never said that, we thought maybe he confused me with another customer, no big deal mistakes happen. So I ask him the question about the controller and he tells me he needs time to research it and he will get back to me on Friday. Friday comes and goes no contact. I emailed him Monday (it was memorial day, and I didn't expect a response until Tuesday to my email) and Tuesday morning I receive an email from him stating he doesn't want to work with me. I respond back no problem it seems like he has a lot on his plate and its probably best we go our separate ways. That is when the trouble started. He responded to my emails telling me how unrealistic I was expecting him to respond to me on a Holiday weekend. What? you told me you would call me back on Friday and I heard nothing. The continues to tell me that I owe him an apology. We start exchanging emails back and forth and then he calls me 5 times, FIVE and leaves me 5 separate voice mails about how pissed off he is with me and I an unrealistic for expecting him to work 7 days a week and on holidays etc. I never once expected him to work 7 days or on a holiday, what I expected was him to respond to me in a timely manner which didn't happen with my emails and to call me back when he said he would on Friday. He had enough time to call me repeatedly and email me back and forth all day arguing but he didn't have 30 seconds to shoot me a quick email or a phone call saying he needed more time to find out if the controller I wanted to use would be compatible the week before. So bottom line is Don is great to work with if you don't ask for any changes to what he wants to use and you are ok with him contacting you when he feels like it. All I wanted was him to call me or email me when he said he would and I apparently expected too much which has now turned into an email battle between the two of us.
