The amenities are fairly limited compared to larger stations but there are at least a couple of quick food and retail choices. The route options are impressive for the size of the station as there are trains that can be taken to Pairs, Brussels, Berlin and other prominent cities of interest.

My tip to you is that if you do have an extended layover here, use the luggage storage for your suitcases and step outside. You'll find the tremendous Kölner Dom that is worth photographing and touring. I did not have THAT much time so it was pictures only today. The train station has coffee (including Starbucks, yuck), pastries, lots of restaurants, restrooms, a waiting lounge if your train ticket includes that service, car rentals, ATMs and yes, the Ibis hotel. Because it is so open, a nice breeze could be felt blowing through, helping to keep everyone cool. From our place on the platform, we could look out a bit into/onto the city of Liège, and the views are lovely. On the platform was a giant sculpture of a Rubik's Cube. I didn't get a chance to look into it's significance, but it was a nice explosion of color amongst all the whiteness. It is a large station with 16 rail platforms plus four tram platforms and four Stadtbahn platforms. As such, it is Germany's sixth busiest station. The parts that I encountered were step free but I'm not sure if the entire station is such. I was able to roll my spinner suitcase easily from the train, through the station and out to the tram. Signage looked good and easy to read. Lots of food and some retail shopping opportunities here. And in 2021, masks are required throughout the train system. This airport has a lot of connectivity to other airports throughout Europe and north Africa. We recently caught a direct flight from Eindhoven airport into Marrakesh, Morocco for our seventh marriage anniversary trip and it was so very convenient for us. Some of the boarding procedures struck me as odd because since this is a very small airport, you are made to stand outside and walk to your plane. I have done this another small airports but we were made to stand outside in the freezing rain for a long time due to slight miscommunications before we got the green signal to board our plane. If they could iron out these small inefficiencies, I would give this airport five stars.

There is a Liège Tourism Office, Starbucks, and train ticket office located at this station. The station is serviced by both high-speed trains and locals trains. Your B ticket will allow you to transfer to the local train to St. Lambert station in the city center. They where working in the rails the day I was in Liège. You can catch buses #1 or #4 to St. Lambert (city center.) I simply showed my B train ticket to the bus driver who gave me a pass indicating the train line was inoperative. Usually, the bus ride is €2.
