I sold/sent Zumu a bunch of DVDs back in April of 2013. They received the items and everything seemed okay. After about a month and no check for the items or date given when to expect payment, I inquired with their customer service when I'd be paid since payment was overdue according to their site/advertisments. They responded in 3 months (late July 2013)! This was 2 months worse than they advertise and at no point did anyone inform me, I had to find this out myself. Well that date in July came and went and no check came. I again received no notification that payment would be late, I had to find out myself. They told me the date would now be early August. Well guess what? That date passed, and again no check and no notification. I then asked that my items be returned to me as it had now been over three months and clearly I wasn't getting paid. Here's is there exact reply cut and paste from and email: "Unfortunately per our Terms of Use any items submitted to Zumu can not be sent back as it is likely that most if not all have been recycled or re homed. Based upon our current time frame your payment has been sent to be processed, and is assigned to our payment cycle being issued by Friday 9/20/13, without any further delays." Okay... "withoutfurther delays". I guess I can accept that. Even though they pushed it out another month and a half. Well guess what happened next? Still no pyament. Still no heads up that payment wasn't sent. I emailed them again. NO response. So now they aren't just not paying for the items I sent that they agreed to pay for, but they aren't even responding to my inquiries via customer service. This is CLEARLY a scam. I bet if they did pay I wouldn't even get the full amount they said they would pay. read more

I wouldn't even give this one star if there was an option! They are HORRIBLE! Way back in APRIL, I received an e-mail from the company stating they received my cd's (4/11/2013). On June 3rd, I e-mailed the company asking about my payment. On June 3rd, I received an e-mail back from Devon saying the company is backed up and that my payment would be issued to me by 6/28/2013. On July 19th, I received an e-mail saying my payment is being processed. However, a month later, I still had not received anything. On August 16th, I sent another e-mail asking about my money. On the same day, Devon e-mailed me back saying there is a problem with PayPal payments and if I am willing to be mailed a check. I responded yes and sent my address. On August 17th, I received a confirmation e-mail from Devon stating that my payment will be issued to me by Friday August 30th. It is now September 19th and I have NOT received anything. This is by far the absolute WORST service I have ever received. Sending me a check is not that difficult. read more

Do not use, especially if you think that your gonna get your money fast. I sent DVD's and CD's back in April. Got 1 check in June. The other 3 checks that I finally got today after numerous Emails and threats. I also had 2 packages that were mysteriously lost. ZUMU claimed that they were lost by USPS. I spent several weeks looking with USPS and they claim that they sent them out and no notice of receipt by ZUMU. After reading another post, I am wondering if ZUMU did receive but they have lost the items. I also did not insure my packages as I have never had any problems sending things without insurance. Unfortunately this made me start using insurance. I guess maybe need to contact BBB about my missing money for the 2 missing boxes. People please stay away from this outfit. I shipped a box full of CDs to Zumu in March and followed up by e-mail several times over the next couple of months. I finally received my check for $19.60 at the end of July. I deposited it last week and see today that it bounced AND I was charged a $12 fee. I was able to get my bank (after much arguing and cajoling) to refund me the bounced check fee. I've e-mailed Zumu regarding the bounced check, but am not going to hold my breath that I'll ever see that money. read more

Instead I was notified that the money had been deposited into my Paypal account today. I still advise you to not use this company unless you love getting the run around! Two months and no reimbursement! They have even stopped responding or answering my requests. DO NOT USE!!! After 2 months and several e-mails saying that had not received my package or that my trade expired; I finally had to threaten to call the BBB and Consumer Protection before the "Financial Manager" approved my payment to be done in a special run. Items were shipped to Zumu 08/Feb/2013, delivered by USPS on 13/Feb/2013. Zumu did not acknowledge receipt until 25/Feb/2013, almost 2 full weeks after delivery was actually made. It then took Zumu until 19/Apr/2013, more than 2 full months after Zumu received the items, to send a check, and that check was short by $0.50. It is obvious that short-sighted accountants direct Zumu. Taking forever to pay is just bad business - paying less than the agreed amount is gross negligence and just not very smart. As a follow up, I received notice from Zumu that one of the DVDs had "damaged artwork" and so was sent to "recycling". I packaged all items myself and know for a fact that there was no damaged artwork. Let us add blatant lies to the long list of Zumu negative attributes. read more

I'm still trying to figure out why I had to wait six weeks to get my money, from these folks, after sending them a huge box of used dvd's that they paid the shipping for. Maybe it was just my experience, but I did notice two previous complaints with the BBB on file. I eventually received my money after emailing them a few times, and having to shame them on their Facebook page. There has to be a better resale business out there, for the customer. read more

Be careful using Zumu.co! Back in June of this year I shipped a collection of 500+ new, factory sealed CD's and I still have not received a dime. I have contacted the company several times and their replies and nothing are the same thing. I have multiple documented conversations/correspondence between myself and Zumu where I've been given the absolute run around concerning my payment of $70 they owe me since June 2013. It's now been almost a year, and still nothing from them. I've completed a complain on the BBB site and was told by the BBB in Michigan that they sided with my case but unfortunately had to close it as they were not receiving any further correspondence from Zumu. I've since contacted not only the Attorney General in Michigan but as of 2 days ago, the Attorney General in PA where I reside. I've now looked and i see there's no website for this company anymore which leads me to believe I will not be receiving payment. We are working hard here at Zumu to issue all payments as quickly as possible." 1/14/14: Completely forgot about sending this stuff in, but came across an old email that reminded me, frustrated me, and I decide to write a poor review about this process. (This is over 2 months since I received the "your payment has been sent for processing" email). Meanwhile, I had used MusicMagpie.com (which appears to have changed to Decluttr now) for some other DVDs stuff the same day I started all of this with Zumu They gave me more money on some of the DVDs, CDs, and video games I was trying to sell. Again, some of the things. BUT, they were able to get a check to me (in my hands) in about 3 weeks. That was after I listed all the stuff online, mailed in the stuff, they processed it, and notified me that my check is being printed and mailed. 10/28/13: List all stuff online... 10/28/13: Receive shipping label; mail DVDs and CDs out... 11/5/13: "Items are here" email... 11/12/13: "Items have been checked" and "processing your check" emails... 11/13/13: "Printing your check" email... 11/14/13: "Payment is on the way"... I don't remember exactly when I received the check in the mail, but I am sure it was only a few days later. I sent in a stack of video games in February of 2013. They sent me a confirmation of my order being processed and quoted me at over $100. 4 months go by and nothing. I e-mail them and they said that my check will be in the mail the next month (early August). The end of August rolls around and still no check. I e-mail them a few weeks later and their response is computer generated, saying my order will be processed as soon as possible. Another month, still nothing. I filed a BBB report after that, but they never responded to them. It has been a year and I am almost certain I will never receive the money they owe me. If you want to sell games, DVDs, etc., don't use Zumu. It is a joke and a scam. I would rather have burned my items if I knew that they were going to steal them from me. read more

I am unable to give them any stars. I run a program servicing adults with disabilities. As a fund raiser for them to have a special day, we collected cd's and dvd's to sell to Zumu. We followed the directions and sent them in. After 3 months of no checks I filed a complaint with the BBB. Zumu responded back that with proof of the bounced checks and service fees, they would reimburse. All information was sent in to BBB, and ZUMU continues to refuse to reimburse these individuals with their monies for their special day of fun. Unfortunately it was AFTER my problems with ZUMU that I checked them out closer. There are to many complaints that can be counted. All saying the same thing. I sent my CDs to Zumu on October 13, 2013. In January, when I still hadn't heard from them, I emailed - several times - and got either no response or a "we are overwhelmed with orders right now but rest assured we are processing your order". On April 8, 2014, I emailed again and got no response. Yesterday, I try to email and found out that the website no longer exists. If you are thinking about using Zumu to get rid of some old DVD's, PLEASE, I beg of you to think again! You will be saving yourself from a horrific customer service experience - one that can only be described as one frustrating excuse after another - crafted so Zumu can avoid issuing payment. First, I was never even contacted to notify me that my products had arrived in their warehouse. When several weeks had passed and I had not yet received payment, I emailed them. The first excuse was that they were changing billing cycles and everyone's payments were back-logged. However, they promised to push me to the front of the line. Sure! No payment. When another couple of weeks passed, I inquired again - this time with the promise to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and State's Attorney General if payment was not received by the end of the week. Needless to say, once again payment was not received. Now, months have passed since I sent in my DVDs. I filed my complaints on a Sunday and on Monday I received an email from Zumu that my check was being processed and would be mailed soon. Like everything else with Zumu, I will not believe it until I see it. I firmly believe that Zumu is nothing more than a scam; a business with deceptive practices who preys on weak consumers. I have viewed other on-line complaints from individuals who have had issues similar to mine. Zumu plays the odds that many customers will not fight them for their money and simply give up; when people do fight back and contact agencies like the BBB - Zumu capitulates and pays-up. This is a disgusting way of doing business and probably illegal. DO NOT do business with Zumu and please share this message! read more
