My husband planned a Mothers Day trip to Helen. We are frequent visitors as Helen is a home away from home for us. And as an avid rock collector and crystal owner, I was soo excited about finding out about this shop. I hadn't realized it was there during our last visit so this was my first experience and visit. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. My husband is not as interested in crystals as I am so he did not come into the shop but my 12 year old daughter tagged along with me to learn and look around. My daughter and I were walking around the shop admiring the beauty of all of the rocks, gems and crystals. It felt like heaven to me. I had planned on browsing first and circling back to make a large purchase and as we were walking, my daughter spotted the "little crows". She knew how much I loved crows (but knew, ravens are my favorite), and so, she pointed them out. We were having a conversation quietly amoung ourselves and I said to my daughter "Awe, look at those little crows! They're so beautiful! I love those!" And then, I then pointed out and said "Look! A few of them with the bigger beaks even look like little ravens." We were innocently admiring them and the older lady with glasses that was standing behind the counter very rudely spoke up and said "Those are Crows! They are Crows while they are in here and they can be Ravens when they leave!" I looked up surpised that she had butted into mine and my daughters conversation the way that she did. I did not know how to respond or why she had been so incredibly rude. However she felt or whatever kind of day she had, I felt like that was unfair and honestly uncalled for. We were not trying to offend the carver and did not understand why she spoke up and said what she did. My daughter and I were just talking to each other and admiring as we shopped around like all customers do when they browse through a store. My intentions was to browse through the store first and circle back to the items I loved most and wanted to purchase. I had planned on purchasing several very large crystals and a 3 of the "little crows" but after that rude comment, I decided not to make any purchases at all and kindly leave. That experience stuck with me the rest of the evening. Not that this review matters or makes any difference to the buisness or any tourist that goes in there but I am going on a limb here to assume that the rude older lady with the glasses is the owner of the shop. I am assuming that since she owns a crystal and rock shop, she knows and understands that some of the crystals she sells absorb negative emotions and energy. A rude owner could be precieved as a disturbance and block to the crystal's natural energy flow and healing properties. Her creating such a negative atmosphere in the store with her rude behavior to her customers, it would make one worry about how it affects the energy and perception of the crystals that she sells. Something to think about. I'd hate for other customers to get the same impression. read more

Absolutely love this place! Wonderful rocks of all kinds, and the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Good price point for their stuff as well, including the bigger pieces. It is very small, I don't believe a wheelchair or other mobility aid would be able to fit in comfortably. That being said, if you're close by and able to squeeze in, do! read more

My first visit was in 2014 and we bought several nice pieces of jewelry. The owner (Zuzu?) was very nice and very informative. We aren't local, so my husband contacted them via their website at Christmas time and did not get a response. Our just visited again this week. I was disappointed that there wasn't as much jewelry to select from this time. The owner's son was working and he was very pleasant to work with. My toddler enjoyed browsing and we ended up buying a few $5 pendants which he graciously added to cords for us to wear as necklaces. read more

Cool little gem store in the middle of kitschy Helen. Family owned and operated, they have a selection of geodes and other gems from around the world. BUT, they also have handmade jewelry, much of which is made right there in the store. Spent some time chatting with the owner when we were there. Interesting fella. This place is super tiny but its jam packed with awesome stuff. Rocks, minerals, geodes, those cool salt lamp things, and handmade jewelry. They have a sweet cat and dog in the store and allowed my friend to bring her dog inside which was really cool. They were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and even provided me with some info about a lapidary school when I mentioned that I was interested. Such nice people, will definitely go back next time I'm in Helen. read more

This is an amazing little rock shop! By far, this is my favorite rock shop in Georgia! Their supply of rocks are genuine stones that are free of dyes and other enhancements! Linda, Vern, Jeff and Frodo(the general manager & canine) are very knowledgeable about all the stones and are always willing to make sure you leave the shop happy and know about your purchases. If they don't know, then Melody's book is on the counter, and they will find out! If you are into the metaphysical, and healing power of rocks/crystals/stones..... This place is incredible. The owner is very friendly and an extremely knowledgeable gemologist/mineralogist, and she's always educating and advising and telling stories about how she obtained various stones. Great selection of stones that could only be compiled by someone who really knows the trade - unlike the "other" mineral shop in town where they just have the usual tourist fare (geodes and tumbled rocks and that's about it). I picked up two amazing Labradorites, and they even gave me a great deal on two because I was on a tight budget for that trip to Helen. ZuZu's Petals is a wonderful rock shop! The inventory of rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, and handmade jewelry was wonderful. I found the owners, Mr. and Mrs. McAllister and their son, to be so helpful and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to help me and my family shop in their store. They helped me put together a comprehensive rock collection to share with students that I teach and shared all of their knowledge about each rock so that I could videotape it and share it kids.
