We had an awesome visit here as my husband did the Eau Claire Beer Crawl. Our conversation with the owner addressed everything from the beers to the eccentricities of the old auto repair shop garage that hosts the brewery. The tap list here is large and my husband enjoyed everything he tried. There are also several non-alcoholic sodas available. The second of the breweries I visited in Menomonie, WI was Zymurgy. I can't believe the quality of breweries they have in this town. It took me longer than I want to admit to order due to their extensive tap list and everything sounding good. I ended up getting a flight with some additional small pours to get a taste of as many beers as I could! Zymurnator IV: A Doppelbock brewed in celebration of their fourth anniversary. Where most breweries create cloyingly sweet doppelbocks, they lagered this one well creating a good balanced malt sweetness with a clean finish. Barrel Aged Talisman (2022): A Barleywine that they barrel aged for additional character. Tiny flavors of oak and vanilla meld with toffee, caramel, and toasted bread. A beautiful celebration of a barleywine. Marzanna the Crone - Vanilla (2023): A Russian Imperial Stout with Vanilla added. Burn sugar, coffee, and roast malt with a slight vanilla sweetness. Similar to their other beers it is well balanced with the adjunct not overtaking the base beer. Crazy Fingers: A Dunkelweizen brewed in the traditional German tradition. They use a German yeast train that creates the classic banana / clove aroma and taste, but with the darker malt flavors reminiscent of toasted bread and caramel. Think banana bread in liquid form. Afternoon Joe: A Blonde Ale with coffee added from Ruby Roasters of Nelsonville. Big bold coffee bitterness in a lighter bodied and refreshing ale. Very espresso / roast forward, which I really enjoy. We were a day early to their yearly Stout festival, but I made sure to grab a couple bottles of the different Lambics they add to go! ___________ read more

Inaugural visit yesterday about 3 on a Friday only one group @ a table and then one person @ the bar so I was able to ask questions. As I began asking about beers the person @ the bar started rattling off information, then said: sorry but I do work here too. I let Torren know I would have appreciated their input either way so w Torren's input and beertender Colin I built a small four pour flight. Because of the one wall covered in large windows it was a really inviting bright atmosphere. The acoustics must be great, I don't think I even heard the other table. Zymurgy had some good beers, w Torren's input I added the #6 Pukwudgie, Belgian IPA. I said I couldn't place it, I'm not really an IPA fan so it wasn't my jam despite it being wonderfully approachable and well balanced. Torren then pointed out the tap list that I hadn't noticed, in the bottom right corner of each tap number is a letter, this indicates which glassware and size it will be served in, they then went on to explain to me what size each glass was! Such a rookie, it's a well detailed tap list that the entire line is one beer, I tried breaking it up in half, no; it's the tap number, name, ABV, then style. Parking here was super easy w their own lot and the brewery was super easy to find, right on the corner. All of everything on my visit was wonderful.... beer, staff, tap room, the wonderful knowledge drop. Thanks Zymurgy... Torren and Colin for a delightful inaugural visit! Cool place located near the edge of downtown Menomonie WI. Little brew outfit. Artwork on some of the walls is to support local artists and some is for sale. Great list of brews to try. Owners and workers all very personable and knowledgeable. Now keep in mind we are in the middle of a pandemic(12/2020). So when u come here, wear your mask please(right on the door). ((slow the spread/ wear the mask and spread some love )) I like this place cuz it is local. I like to support local businesses. I was told in a pre-pandemic world, this place would have bands inside or outside. They have a nice area for people to sit outside when it is nicer. Help support local. All right, if you're touring around, this place is totally worth the stop. The beer comes in some great varieties including seasonal varieties. The space itself is comfortable, laid back and totally welcoming. The staff is friendly and seem to love being there. The place does not serve food so you can bring pets if you'd like. I've been there for concerts, trivia, stand up comedy and random game nights. And the food trucks, oh god the food trucks.... This is also a good place to meet friends and hang out for a few hours. Totally worth a trip from the Twin Cities (plan on hitting the other two breweries within a 2 mile radius). But this is my favorite. read more

Coolest brewery around. Amazing live metal music, and a muy grande selection of house crafted beers!

Stopped at this brewery on our way through town. Loved the setting and service! So friendly and welcoming. Everyone wore masks and respected social distancing. They allowed dogs inside, which was fantastic for us and even came around with homemade, organic dog treats. There patio was being renovated when we went, so I'm unable to comment on that. I got a flight of 5 beers and wasn't super impressed. There are a couple that I would order for a pint, but I would say 2-3 at most. We will for sure be back to try the few that we haven't yet. Great to see a small, local place like this is Menomonie. read more

My wife and I were looking for a new (to us) brewery to visit between St.Paul and Illinos. We found Synergy online and the selection of beers looked promising. I selected a flight of 4 and they did not disappoint. The Morning Joe was my wife's favorite. It tastes more like a cold brewed coffee than a beer! I preferred the Wizard Robe, with the Terry Porter a close second. So many choices, and not a ton of bitter IPA's. I love it when a brewer takes a risk, rather than making mainstream pilsners and IPA's. A dog friendly atmosphere, and a great server make this a great place to visit. This was a nice stop on or self guided brewery tour,! I dont remember our bartenders name, but he recently start an apprenticeship to be a brewmaster and hes starting a photography class soon. He was SUPER knowledgeable! It was so interesting listening to how each different beer is made, all about the hops, and all the different ingredients, he even let us feel and smell some of the hops! Truly a good stop! So glad we made the stop, would definitely recommend this place! read more
