In the summer months, make sure you check out the exterior patio space which includes luscious green grass, yard games, a gazebo, fire pit, large benches, adirondack chairs and more. Offering wood fire pizzas, varying specials such as soups and sandwiches, along with kombucha on tap and other drinks, makes this a must stop. The cherry on top? Dogs are encouraged! We were fortunate enough to spend my grandpa's 103rd birthday here and enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly patrons and staff members. Beautiful little place. Our waitress was sweet and professional. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. Brisket Nachos were dry and came with little convenience store packets of sour cream. The cheeseburger flatbread was cold and tasteless, and the flatbread tasted like it came in a can. I've had better food at gas stations. read more

Stop #54 on our Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour I'm getting some side-eye from the hubs on giving Amery 3 stars &, believe me, i wish i could justify a higher rating. The signage is great & the property is fantastic. Staff are welcoming, energetic and plentiful. There are a variety of products available for purchase, such as soap made from the beer... pretty cool. Add in the very reasonable pricing. We had 2 pints and pretzel bites for $10 after our discount. So, the 3 stars come down to a brewery is only as good as its beer. While they do have some decent guest taps, the in-house brews are lacking. Finish on the summer wheat was like alka seltzer, and the porter was only a touch better. Worth a visit? Absolutely! Set out Saturday for a short Wisconsin brewery trek... as the saying goes... saved the best for last!!! Amery? Wow!!....just...WOW!!! I was skeptical as I made my way down the woodsy road.... then excitement kept growing!! I parked and headed to the backyard(?) arriving to a patio full of people! Albeit beautiful and welcoming, I made my way inside. I had a seat at a standard height table and Maverick greeted me and we quickly began discussing all the options so I could build a flight!! After I ordered I started randomly spewing brewery experiences beer goodness to the two beertenders. The more I said, the more beertender Destiny said... Wait. Hold up. Did you just say you're the Brewer? Well HELLO there!! So I of course had to run by her the worst beer I've ever had so I asked "hey do you want to hear something offensive?" She replied "YASSS!!" We laughed and I told her about the offensive beer I'd had where a brewer took three good styles and made one awful beer! Which led to more discussing and styles exist for a reason.... With the assist of Maverick I built a flight of: Amber, Mango Slush, Sour Red Gin & Oatmeal Stout. Let me tell you... this Amber is HANDS DOWN the BEST Amber I have ever had. A beer that should be the bar which all others should be held to!! There was a Red Kolsch on the tap list but I asked Maverick "is it more red or more kolsch?" Maverick confidently replied "more red" so I opted to skip the beer. One of Maverick's current go-to's is the Sour Red Gin so that's how I opted to add that one. Amery Ale Works beer isn't good...I don't say this lightly but it is SO DELICIOUS!!! Can you believe Destiny's brew house is the little kitchen looking area off to the side of the bar? She doesn't brew in a big barrels producing tank... Destiny brews 50 gallon batches!! I don't know if that's her secret/special power that she's able to get such a perfect beer? Whatever it is, it's working for her, which works for us, the customers!! Bonus, Amery Ale Works is roughly an hour from the Twin Cities so... just try and keep me away!! Amery Ale Works for being my 365th visited brewery you in no way disappointed...dare I say.... you raised the bar?! You flow beautifully in to my hard & fast brewery rule: no matter how good or bad the beer is, 90% of why I come back is because of how cool/fab the employees are. Brewery Destiny was a wealth of knowledge, an outstanding brewer and just a really cool and vibing human. The tap room was comfortable, spacious & well lit. Unfortunately my flight filled me up so I wasn't able to dig in to any of the food offerings or the absolutely delectable sounding desserts!! I will be back...back w a bigger appetite!! What a pleasant surprise when I left, there was live music on the patio! Amery Ale Works is worth the driver, wherever you are coming from! Staff is friendly. Could be a little faster on food delivery and drink refills. Seems they want to sell beer so food takes awhile to come out. Ordered Nachos and Pizza. Pizza was really good. Brisket nachos were ok. Here's the deal if you make a multi layer nachos you put cheese on each layer. This is Wisconsin. Throw cheese on each layer. It was like 2 bags of chips with some cheese and brisket sprinkled on top. This came out after the pizza. Folks ordering Nachos want that out to snack and talk while drinking. Ambiance was really nice. The set up was great. Think id spring for another bathroom. The bathrooms are individual. Will go back but won't order the nachos for now. read more

My family stopped in during the fall when they where having a make your own caramel apple bar for the kids upstairs. The building is amazing and the patio was great with a large yard to play bags or just a place for the kids to run around while you enjoy a beer. My wife and I tried two beers both that are on their taps that they made one was the red ale which was very good and I can't remember what my wife had but it was more of a light beer and that was a day drinker for sure. We saw people eating pizza and it looked amazing so next time we will be having that during our visit. They also have a great event space and do fund events like comedy nights that we hope to try too. read more

First time ordering from Amery Ale Works. We are staying at the Airbnb on the farm and it was getting late so we opted for nearby pizza and nachos. The nachos had shredded chicken and lots of veggies. Good flavor but the chicken was a little dry. Pizzas were good and big slices. Good leftovers the next day! Couldn't tell where the pepperoni's were under so much cheese. I couldn't order online and they didn't have the appetizers menu available for viewing online. My husband walked over to order the food and it was pretty quick about 20 minutes for our food to be ready. Loved the Airbnb and wouldn't mind coming back again. read more

Good wine selection also including my fave, Prosecco. Food was very good. We had soft pretzels and beer cheese to start. I had the Guinness beef stew (St. Patrick's Weekend special) and it was SO GOOD! Flavorful and tender meat. My companions had taco salad and Cuban Panini. Both really good eats. This is a beautiful venue, a great courtyard and grounds with ample seating, the inside being what appears to have been a milking parlor and we were told there was a lovely wedding hall on the main floor of the barn. Now as far as the brewery goes, that was a major disappointment. They brew one beer, yup, one! And it wasn't very good. They did have some stellar guest beers from other breweries in the area. I only know this because I was more familiar with the beers than the bartender. Another customer came up to the bar and asked for a dark beer, she said they didn't have any, I told her they had a stout, she said she didn't realize that was a dark beer! As I said, it was a beautiful facility but it would appear that they are more interested in being an event venue than a brewery. read more

Amery Aleworks has come a long way from a humble beginning. My family and I drifted in here within weeks of it opening. The menu consisted of nachos and four beers on tap. The place was still being built, but the property and the ambiance made it worth staying. Now, the beer list is long enough to make deciding harder and the menu is still concise, but completely supports the sport of beer drinkin'. There are lawn chairs and lawn games, great staff and the inside is small but perfectly warm and cozy. This is a year round destination. We fell in today for live polka, Hammerschlager, and other Oktoberfest fun. People drinking from glass boots and shouting "Prosit". Yes. It's that kind of place. The Amery Ale Works is a place to socialize and drink quality beer in a relaxed, cozy, Teutonic environment with just enough Midwest flair to keep to yourself and drink in lone misery if that's what you like instead. Be careful: you'll blast right by the sublimely labeled entrance to the lot if you aren't observant, and you'll miss a great time. If they upped the menu and put in some small craft beers, they'd be a five star to me. But then, that would get in the way of drinking beer and attract hipsters. Now that I mention it, I'm going 5 stars because the ambiance is amazing and there are NO hipsters here. Real people only. Better to enjoy this place just like it is. read more

The grounds ate simply lively if you like the outdoors north woods and rustic feel. The outside and inside both are done with quality materials. Had a red beer there, will update when I remember the name, but it was yummy. I did not have any food there yet but the menu looked tasty. Maybe next time I will try something to eat took. Great atmosphere but the beer, food and service are all mediocre at best. $15 nachos have almost no meat and about $4 worth of groceries. Beer is nothing to write home about, and why they put fruit flavored syrup in their hard seltzer is beyond me. read more

This is near our family cabin and we love to stop by for a fun night of laid back beer, food, & yard games! Anytime we are in town we usually run over for a night! We held Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary's Birds and Beer program here at Amery Ale Works, and it is such a beautiful venue! It has a clean and modern look, while still keeping its rustic charm. Upstairs there is an event room with a built-in speaker system and bar. Downstairs is the regular bar and kitchen. They served excellent drinks and delicious pizza. I read about this place in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and decided we needed to visit. Since we were heading to Stillwater, MN for some rainy day exploring it was our time to go. Amery isn't necessarily on the way but whatever! I mean who doesn't love beers on a farm in a barn though, am I right? I'll make this quick. Super cute spot, the taproom and kitchen are in the lower level of this renovated barn. The upper level is being renovated for a future event space. The outdoor patio space looked very inviting. It has ample seating along with a fire pit for those colder nights. The inside of the taproom is really well done. Cliché to say but it had that rustic barn chic with a modern twist. Kitchen is open to the taproom, we didn't eat on this visit but I'd try an appetizer or two next time because the food did smell good. They have a good variety of beers, a cider and multiple wines. They are not brewing their own beers yet, but hopefully soon they will have their own creations to try. Amery Ale Works was worth the initial stop and we definitely be back to visit to try some of the new brews once ready! read more
