If your looking for someone to do your hair Gloria is the person to go to she makes you feel comfortable the entire time. If I could give the Salon negative stars, I would. I called in to inquire about the cost for a manicure and pedicure, and the lady I spoke to was incredibly condescending and rude. She would not tell me how much the cost would be unless I set an appointment. I had to ask her multiple times to give me a price. I was not going to set an appointment before knowing how much the service would cost. After she finally told me the price she asked if I wanted to set an appointment and I said, "thank you, but I am all right." Her response was to scoff, say "I thought so" and hang up on me. I went there for 2 years, and there were problems with scheduling. If they needed to reschedule, they might text you. If you didn't't get the text, they would not follow up with a phone call. The last draw was the profanity used in the final text when they told me to go elsewhere. Now, I am speaking of the owner. I was in town for a wedding and needed to find a salon to get my hair done. It's always a bit scary going to a salon you haven't been to before, but after checking Yelp and Facebook, Elan looked like a good choice. They responded quickly to my fb message, and I booked an appt with Brittany. She was so nice, and I could not have been happier with my hair! I loved it and received compliments all night. I was a new client to the salon. Upon arrival I was not greeted, nor did anyone ask who I was waiting for. After sitting there for about 20 minutes, I got up and asked who Jamie was, and explained that I had an appointment. Jamie came to my area and said that she had texted me the day before to remind me of the appointment and I did not respond. She later admitted that she made a mistake and had texted a different client with the same name. So Jamie gave my appointment time to someone else. She assured me that she was almost finished, and that it would be just a few minutes. NOT TRUE! I had to wait an hour and ten minutes before Jamie began. I should have left because I regret allowing her to touch my hair. She gave me the WORST haircut. I asked her to trim about an inch, but she decided to take off 3 inches. I have gotten far better cuts at SuperCuts. She also doesn't dye hair well, she missed an entire area. Going to a salon is supposed to be a relaxing experience. This is not the case here. Save your money and your hair, and NEVER allow Jamie Harlan to touch your hair. read more

This experience was horrifying. She had some good reviews and I have a friend that used her and her brows came out ok. She may have gotten cocky because when she drew my eyebrows for Microblading she did it free hand. When I questioned her about not taking measurements she was quick to remind me she's been in business for 16 years. After she completed the tattoo I told her my eyebrows were different shapes she assured me that once they healed everything would be ok and she would fix her mistake. I paid cash, a total bill of 550$. She informed me she did not have a way to give me a receipt. After my eyebrows healed they were so awful it was embarrassing. When I tried to get in for her to fix them, as she had given her word, she tried to charge me for a "touch up"! I reminded her of our conversation that this isn't a touch up and as a self proclaimed "artist" she should stand by her work. Needless to say she refused to fix them without me paying additional money. We defiantly do not live in the same era that I remember. A time where integrity supersedes the all mighty dollar. Furthermore my eyebrows are worse than prior to having Ms. Harlan touch them, they are two different shapes and I still have to pencil them in everyday. read more

Jamie made my experience worse when she cut my hair off so short and instead of an apology she turned into... very unprofessional! She seemed to have preplanned my cut , didn't ask me what I wanted just started w the cut , I showed her a picture she's like ok then she chopped of my hair and tells me that I needed it . So I like the environment at this salon and I loved my old stylist Alexis (who moved to the east coast last year) so I called in and they referred me to Jaime. Terrible, terrible. I ask for bangs (which was the only good thing she did) and for layers and some volume in the back. She was suppose to start my layers below my chin, it's below my eyes, the layers don't flow, they are super choppy. And it's totally uneven in the back! I'm afraid to go back and and have it fixed in fear the next person will have to cut more off! So I'm going to have to walk around I. A bun or ponytail till this grows out. Please do yourself a favor and see someone else! Oh and she she kept walking away to answer her phone while cutting my hair, she burned me twice with the blow dryer and once with the straightener and I think she was hung over from the night before because she smelled like alcohol was sweating from her. read more

I am not impressed all around. The environment looks and feels cheap, very dated and dirty looking. The staff there have no manners and indifferent to customers, lazy bunch I would say. Got a same day appointment for a hair cut. My hair went past my shoulders, and I wanted it cut to a layered, A-line, chin-length hair cut. It took a while, but the attention to detail that went into my hair cut was awesome. Best of all it was cost-effective. I used to spend 3x as much for the same kind of quality of service. Moving from CO to CA was stressful enough, but finding someone to cut my hair was nearly as harrowing. Relying on Yelp, I found Elan Salon, made an appointment, and told Gloria what I was interested in...tight on the sides and a bit longer on top. She listened well and then executed a scissors cut flawlessly! The true test will be how it grows out so please stay tuned. This is a review that was probably predicted by the stylist who did my hair, since she knows what a terrible job she did. I made my appointment the week before mother's day, excited to get a fresh look for my 1st mothers day. Sadly Jamie, who was my stylist, wrecked my hair. I had a color/highlight job 2 years ago, which I informed her about. She was extremely nice & seemed confident. My request was to go lighter overall so that the previous color mixes well. Instead,  she bleached my hair improperly which caused only my scalp to take hold leaving me with a orange colored bleached scalp, with natural brown color between the old blonde highlights that are at the bottom of my hair. That's 3 different hair colors instead of the overall ONE I went in requesting. I expressed my problem as I'm sitting in the chair & she offered to "even me out" for $25! I wasn't paying to fix her mistake so I lightly tipped & left. After 2 days of people telling me how horrible it looked, I spoke with her hoping to have it fixed. While speaking with Jamie on the phone she hastily offered to fix my hair while blaming the problem on "miscommunication" while she continued to argue with me over what my hair history must've been, instead of taking account for her work. At that point I denied her ever touching my hair again & was offered a refund that I have yet to see. I've sent her several messages that I know she's read. It's sad that my first participation in mother's day is with tri-colored hair as I avoid cameras thanks to Jamie. Now the $65 I spent that day will be exceeded by the starting price of $150 it costs me for "color correction" from a real professional. read more
