An absolute gem on Catawba Island. The Orchard Farm Stand is on the accompanying property of Catawba's popular Orchard Bar and Table restaurant, located across the parking lot with a seperate entrance. This isn't a farm market where you'll meet vendors personally, but rather, a gorgeously curated selection of their goods. On a rainy day, my cousin and I adventured out here and were the only ones there, which was a true treat. This small but mighty "stand" (indoor shop) features everything from woven baskets and bags to wines, cheeses, fresh vegetables, and dry mixes/seasonings/bar items. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Cleveland vendors like STEM Soaps and Revival Body Care featured all the way out here! The shop has a great atmosphere and its fun to browse all their neatly organized products. If you are visiting Catawba Island, this Farm Stand should totally be on your list. Try to do during yucky weather and you'll get a lot of privacy on the property like we did. We loved peeping the adjoining gardens where they appear to harvest their lavender and other herbs. Food is average. Service is awful. Many of the good servers and bartenders have left due to pressure from management, who seem to prioritize profit over absolutely everything, including employee well being. Find a better business to support. read more

Id give this place 2.5 stars and that's because its beautiful and the staff are nice. Is anyone else getting tired of businesses relying on esthetic and not delivering the goods? I ordered 2 eggs over easy, a hashbrown, bacon and toast. There wasn't a speck of any sort of seasoning on anything and none to be found on the table either. The hashbrown was the same as a McDonald's hashbrown but soggy and bland. The unseasoned eggs were fried hard, where the edges were crispy brown and whatever fake butter product they were cooked in left a greasy brown puddle on the plate. It looked like burnt pan spray. Who wants to eat that? It cost $15 and was really bad. Absolutely zero effort put onto a plate. Also they give you a real plate but plastic dinnerware and disposable cups!? Id give it another try hesitantly because they have a nice outdoor area with chickens. read more

I want to start with the fact that the ambiance and drinks are five stars. No question. Think sprawling green grass, lots of well tended tables with red umbrellas, a patio for live music, classy cornhole, water fountains and attentive staff. With margaritas and gin and tonics and craft beers that are perfection. All of that was outstanding. I have it a four but it really rounds down to a 3.5 because of the 17 people in attendance in , I think only half were satisfied with their meals. The perch was overdone, the margherita pizza used pasta sauce, the hot honey pizza was extremely greasy, with non crispy pepperoni cups, and the apple butter pizza should have been for dessert. But again, great service, fabulous music, and an unmatched vibe really made for a good time!! Hoping for better food next time!! read more

This is such a cute place with a great patio. They have a nice river running through the middle and very nice vineyard to look at. I came with a few people and we very much enjoyed our time there. The food wasn't anything to right home about, but they have great cocktails and a great atmosphere to just relax and have a good time with friends or family. The server was very nice and the food came out at a reasonable time. The donuts we got were good but the chocolate dipping sauce was not it for me, and the hot honey pizza was just ok. Was here over the winter, and really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. We went to coffee and breakfast this morning and it was different. The quality of the food was not on par for the cost, as we both ordered traditional breakfast sandwiches and the English muffin wasn't even toasted. The lavender coffee was good (as always). Couple of additional things that cheapen the experience. I asked for the guest WiFi password and was told they removed that (even though shows as locked). This is a basic staple just about anywhere today, but not here. The final aspect I didn't care for was the 2.5% charge added to bills automatically because of minimum wage or something. Businesses need to stop this practice and just price accordingly, as I feel it cheapens the overall value proposition. If you have a quality product and service, price it what you pay, but value is what you get. I think this needs to be examined here. read more

Have previously loved coming to Orchard- last summer season was outstanding. This year, have been disappointed by the service- all 3 times we have come. Fries were not delivered with meal, drinks took 20 min to get to us (and were to strong without flavor) waited 15 min before we were tended to while it wasn't busy (we came at 8 pm). The next morning, we also waited way too long to be tended to. My friend's toast was delivered long after her eggs. She was also charged $18 for a La carte eggs, toast, and a black coffee. It seemed a lot of kids without much work ethic were slowly making their way to us. Then we had to wait longer after mistakes were made. read more

They have grown too big IMO and miss the original restaurant. Had friends in town and went to the farm stand for a meal. Ordered a sandwich and soup - friends soup came out first with no cheese on it (French onion). When he tasted it I knew it wasn't going to be a great meal. Mine was no where to be found. When it finally came out had half melted Swiss cheese and was lacking any taste at all. Soup from a can would have been better. Sandwiches were average at best. Walked back to the Coop. Stood at a mostly empty bar for several minutes as the 2 bartenders just gabbed. We walked away very disappointed with the entire experience. Really disappointed! It was a lovely evening, so we went to sit outside. Only three other tables were filled, so we didn't expect a problem. There were FIVE waitresses. They saw us sit down. They stood up there talking and laughing. NEVER CAME OVER! We waited ten minutes. We got up and left. Walked right past them as the server station. They said to have a nice evening. I said, "You don't even know that we just came here 10 minutes ago, while all FIVE of you were standing here doing nothing, do you?" They just stood there, clueless. They said, "where were you sitting?" I said, "Right there, where you could see us if you were paying attention." They offered no apology. One of them said, "Oh well." Visiting for drinks and dinner. We found seats quickly and the waiter showed up immediately to get drink orders. Those showed up quickly, what didn't show up were any kind of water for the table, we had to ask. Atmosphere was nice when we arrive but shortly after a live musician started playing, it was so loud our waiter could barely hear us order our food. Our group got an assortment, burgers, pizza. Salad. Majority of the food was decent. Their burger special came out with ice cold "special truffle fries"- which our waiter was kind enough to replace after we asked. Update - I wrote my review about the Farm Stand in the off season (honestly the best time to visit Catawba Island these days...) The service that I've been receiving at the Farm Stand hasn't been up to the quality they are putting out. A couple weeks ago we waited an HOUR for to-go sandwiches & sides. This past weekend, I decided to give it another shot and order a breakfast sandwich to go (mind you there was ZERO people in line so I took the risk). Waited another 35 mins for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. My advice, if you want come out here to eat & visit, be sure to leave ample time OR call in your order ahead of time. read more

Kind of a cross between a farm/winery, beautiful outdoor deck. they have a couple of fire pits and a water fountain on the back deck definitely a place for a date. Staff is friendly and the service was very quick I was surprised. The food was hot fresh and just cooked. Amazing. I had the burger and today they had dollar wings so I had to try the peach buffalo. I'm stretching to give 3 stars which are solely based on the atmosphere and tasty unique drinks. Service at the front bar on an early Saturday afternoon was poor at best. Waiting almost 20 mins for service that only came because a regular yelled at a bartender to get his attention. I had been making eye contact and raising my hand several times prior to that. The bar was maybe 1/2 full. We saw several upset customers getting slow service and no plates or silverware when food was delivered. We've had many good experiences here....I guess it comes down to who's working the bar when you sit down. read more

As a local who chooses a plant based diet, it really sucks when Orchard doesn't have ONE vegan or vegan option on their menu. They used to have a vegan sandwich but I guess they don't care about people wanting healthy food options because it was taken off and nothing else was added. Such a shame because we used to frequent this place fairly often but haven't bothered since they cater to meat, meat and more meat. We go to Twin Oast and Gideon Owen instead. read more

Beautiful location for an outside lunch. We could choose our own table on the patio and were promptly served. Whipped feta appetizer had the delicious touch of hot honey and crushed red pepper and paired great with the pita wedges. Truffle fries were salty and loads of crushed rosemary. But our favorite item was the wood fired pizzas - we selected the pepperoni and hot honey and it was divine. Smoky, chewy crust with a generous amount of pepperoni which curled up to hold the hot honey. I'd definitely order everything again. read more

Sigh This place was so good last season. The service was execrable. They brought out the appetizer at the same time as the entrees. Server didn't know the wine list. They brought out all the food at once so my flatbread was room temperature by the time we ate the appetizer. They just threw two big cardboard boxes on the table with our flatbreads in them. "Oh, we are out of plates!" No plates? You charge 20 bucks for a doggone flatbread and you haven't a plate? The staff never cleared the table next to ours. Oh they had plenty of time for chatting and checking their phones, but none to clean up the place. We had to buss our own table as they couldn't be bothered to prepare one for us. The coconut shrimp was burnt. The margherita flatbread was burnt black. The other 3 pig flatbread was burnt but not to a char. 70 bucks for something Pizza Hut would have been ashamed of. Pricing is more favorable at this location vs the Orchard restaurant next door. The market area has some really cute finds including their own line of hand soaps which smell delicious! Another beautiful establishment that we went too that's definitely overlooked on Catawba Island is this place. Sure, there stuff is quite pricey. The view and the Vineyards are definitely really great but this place sells everything from food, candles, fruits, gift ideas for the pickiest of shoppers and even a restaurant to visit (which I didn't visit) overall, definitely worth checking this place out! read more

Visit was on a late Tuesday afternoon (9/12) Ordered Burger & Truffle Fries special for $12. Also ordered a single glass of wine at $11 for Sauvignon Blanc. Burger was very good, cooked medium, with gooey cheese and fixings served hot with Truffle Fries. The fries are good, but are shoestring and the amount of them get cold very fast. Didn't eat half of them. No dipping sauce except optional ketchup. The wine was crisp and fresh, but not sure I would pay that again for a single glass based on pricing. Included this beautiful and fun sounding place as the first stop on our cross country trip after seeing a spot about them on the magnolia network. It did not disappoint and was well worth the deviation from our intended route and weathering the massive hurricane force winds and hail to make it there. Food can't get any fresher or more yummy! Fun custom cocktails, Lattes & teas! Great gift shop and grounds to explore! Service could not have been better or more accommodating to us and our 5 month old energetic puppy! NEVER will I go there again!!! We went last Friday for lunch, it was a beautiful day and thought that would be a perfect spot for lunch! Well, we were fooled! Every table was filthy, I don't think they wash them off. And the flies, oh my goodness, they were horrible. And this is supposed to be the less expensive of the two restaurants, and for what we got the value was not good at all. We would have been better off going to Arby's. The service was OK and our waitress was OK but she just laughed when we complained about the flies. I can only imagine the kitchen. The food was mediocre at best, my salad was supposed to be a cranberry chicken salad with pecans and there were no pecans whatsoever, and the greens were not nice, for 14.95 that was a ridiculous price, the salad dressing was horrible so I requested a different kind and they also was bad. After having an outstanding dinner the night before at the orchard restaurant we decided to give the farm stand a try for breakfast. Service was very slow and overall pretty bad. We ordered right at 11am and it took 45 minutes for avocado toast, a breakfast sandwich and over easy eggs. The food was ok once it arrived. Nothing really special but it was what we ordered. This place has a great vibe otherwise and if they could train their staff better maybe things would go more smoothly. Don't go here if you have a schedule to keep. read more

We always eat here nightly when we come for the Biggeat Week in American Birding every May. Wonderful food and the truffle fries alone are worth the trip. Nice servers and the food is always hot.
