We officially decided this is the place to be in Sandusky! They have indoor seating as well as a large covered patio outdoors. At the time we went, there was trivia going on and you could tell this was a place that locals really enjoyed. Our service, probably beause it was so busy, was a little lacking but we weren't in a hurry that night so it was fine. All food was ON POINT. Hush puppies were awesome, walleye bites were BOMB! You can even get them tossed in a buffalo-type dust. The pub burger was really good and you could customize it a good bit so I got the pretzel bun. read more

The positive reviews of this place steered us here, but I'd say we were mislead. We were seated inside and they had all their fans on. Granted it was a 65 degree day in NE Ohio which feels like a heat wave this time of year, but it was uncomfortable and pretty chilly w the fans. I ordered a margarita and husband ordered a beer. Margarita was terrible. So sweet and full of mix - I can count on one hand the amount of times i haven't finished an alcoholic beverage and this is one of them. Beer was a bit warm and thus why he didn't order another. Had cheese curds for an app and they were very good. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger w "spicy" fries. The burger itself was good (although I removed the bun bc it was soaked in grease), but what threw me off was the amount of liquid the fries were sitting in. I was hesitant to eat them until I could ask the waitress what exactly it was... I couldn't figure out if it was butter, oil, grease or something else? When I asked her, she said she really didn't know what it was but it's just something that they "pour over the fries." So I guess if you're going to get your fries spicy - check out the photo below bc that's what you're going to get. I couldn't stomach all of the grease, so I barely ate any. My husband ordered the Sandusky chicken which was a take off of the Nashville. He said it was seasoned well, but it came plain. You could pay extra for a piece of lettuce, tomato, onion, or coleslaw... But isn't that what you're ordering when you order this type of sandwich? He paid extra for the coleslaw and said he doesn't know how it would've tasted good without it. He had onion rings which were average. Daughter ordered chicken tenders and also didn't like them (and she too got the spicy fries dredged in an unknown seasoning), so those also didn't get eaten. Although she is a picky eater... I had to agree that they were very seasoned and dry. Not exactly what I would serve from a children's menu. Our service went downhill... Our waitress was pretty good, but for how dead it was, we had to do a lot of waiting for our check, to cash out, and for an extra side here and there. We're back again for the 2nd year in a row and as always, it was so delicious! I made the sad mistake of getting my chicken BTL with grilled chicken (worst mistake!) instead of fried and it wasn't my favorite...but that was MY MISTAKE! We went with a large party and sat out on the patio. There's a very large outdoor area which is great for a nice night, and also works well for those who prefer to dine outdoors due to Covid. We had been there before the menu was redone, and there's been great improvements. If you haven't been lately, give it another try. Since it's a brewery, I'll start with the beer. I had a lemon wheat and it was a nice summer drink. The cream ale was also good. We came for dinner and the food was great. The burger and hot chicken sandwiches hit the spot. The Buffalo cauliflower and mushroom goat cheese pizza are great options to share with the table. My only note of improvement is that I wish the to go containers were a more sustainable option instead of styrofoam. read more

We came with a group of seven and we're hopeful this would be a great experience based on other Yelp reviews. Happily, we had a wonderful experience. The table ordered spicy cauliflower and the walleye spread as appetizers. They came out quickly and we're large portions; especially the cauliflower! The only complaint we could make (which is so minor I'm not sure it's worth noting) is that the amount of dipping sauce compared to cauliflower ratio is off. Additionally if it was served with ranch and blue cheese, it would be ideal. The spicy Sandusky chicken sandwich was raved about, but then the burger was tasted and it took the top prize for best tasting meal of the table! Although I will say that the wild mushroom pizza and the walleye platter were also delicious Are you bringing children with you? Or adults with bland pallets, fear not, because the cheese pizza is very tasty! From a sustainability standpoint we were happy to see metal soufflé cups for dipping sauce, but were disappointed with the styrofoam to-go containers. Brewery's are something that I seek out as they are often some of the best of the best when it comes to food and drink so much so that it keeps you wanting to come back again and again! Coming here has been a long time coming since they have been closed for most of the winter which I hope won't be the case for this next one as I can see myself becoming a regular here for more than one reason! First off let's start with the brews they have a decent varying of brews some light some dark and some spice all of which were yummy and just what was good in a brewery type of way! Of the brews I especially enjoyed the White Cap Ale which was a bit creamy and a bit blonde but don't let me not talk about the Merry-Go Brown which was a yummy brown ale that was rich but not too rich and just perfect! Besides the brews they have some insanely good shots the two I tried were the Lucky Charms, & Sugar Cookie the Lucky Charms one tasted like a fruity sugary mix just like the cereal complete with some on top! The sugar cookie one was just yummy it reminded me of horchata which is something I totally love! The food was delicious like in many ways of the starter options we went with the Buffalo cauliflower which was fried then covered in Buffalo sauce making for what was just yummy but don't let me sell that pretzel short as it was served with some beer cheese some maple butter and some Dijon mustard making for a yummy different dunk every single time! Of the dinner entrees I went with the Bait House Burger and let me say that this was delicious be if the best burgers I've had in a very long time as it was cooked perfectly the bun was delicious the sauce was pure flavor and let me say it was just perfect like it was that good and this is something I don't always say as I'm very picky about burgers! The fries that came with the burger were also yummy served very hot and fresh but they were just on the side as it was all about that burger! My friend ordered the wild mushroom pizza he totally enjoyed it and said it hit the spot after the few drinks he had. The service here was totally on point the staff was very friendly and the vibes were all positive making for an even better time all the way through! They are also pet friendly so bring your doggies as everyone always loves the dogs at the brewery! Overall this was a delicious time all around good beer good vibes awesome food and a friendly staff I know I'll be counting the days until I can come back here again! Disappointed, because this is such a cool place. There was a good crowd at 7:20 on Saturday night. Waitress was very attentive and took our drinks and took our app order. After the drinks came, she took the food order. As she went down our party taking the order (seven of us , four adults, three kids) it was apparent that a good number of items were sold out (understood) or not even on the menu anymore. (It's a paper menu. Update it!) 15 minutes after placing the order, she came back to tell us it was going to be at least an hour for our food. At around 8:30 we finally got our apps. They were amazing! But the kids had had enough. We let our server know to cancel our food order, and we cashed out. It's a shame, because we've been here before and the food and the margaritas are amazing. Sadly, they couldn't get their 'stuff' together to handle a Sandusky summer Saturday night. read more

Another brewery. Baithouse Brewery is located on the shore of Lake Erie. It's the best place for beer in Sandusky. Even though it's a small place, it still has a good variety of beer. They also have a food truck. From the outside it's not impressive. It looks like an old hillbilly bar more than a microbrewery. They even have a sign out front that welcomes bikers, so you can expect the crowd to be rougher. It still is pretty new. They are a small space so it's expected they should've limited in selection. About half of the beers on tap are their own. The rest are guest taps. It's about $6 for a pint. The one I like the most is the SandBrewski. I would come here again. It's close to the waterfront and in a quiet neighborhood. There's not as many tourists. read more

If you spend $12 to utilize the Touchtunes jukebox and select music other than the country music that is playing the owner will skip your music choices, even if they're the edited version to appease the complaining old lady with her barking dog because she "assumes" all your music choices should just be skipped at the direction of the old lady. Ordered the Buoy Brat without peppers and without onions however adding mustard cost $.25! Same on the burger, $.25 for a little plastic container of ketchup and another $.25 for mayo! "Bar Food" at best. We left Max a $10 tip as he was a great server. Waters came quickly but the beer took 10-15 minutes to arrive and was not all that cold. Even though most of the patrons are gone at this time, Out good order took well over 30 minutes. Two burgers showed up with fries and one didn't. Who would serve a a plain burger without a side? The chicken sandwich was horrible and under cooked. We sent it back to have it cooked more but and they redelivered it, they didn't provide a the sauce or toppings so it was served plain. Then the appetizers were served last after we were nearly done eating. Needless to say, we will never be back. read more

So sad! We went there on the Sunday of Memorial day weekend and they were closed. I had been on their website, Facebook page and yelp page the day before and everything said they were open. We boated over from Marblehead, docked and walked over. CLOSED! No sign on the door. I called and called, no machine with a message or anything. We had two small children with us as well as my older parents and it was disappointing to have planned to much and then have to walk somewhere else. After a long day at Cedar Point me and the three others in my group were dying for a good burger. Luckily we found the place! Bait House offers a few burger options, but 3/4 of us decided on the Pub Burger, which has smoked Gouda and Beer cheese. Who would have known that would be a killer combination? Horrible service. My group of friends and I sat down to eat around 6:00 pm and did not received our food until we'll after 8:15 pm. If we weren't already in the hole with drinks and appetizers (which also took a long time to be served) I would have walked out of the dreadful establishment. There were also multiple customers who sat down near us and were never served forcing them to get up and leave. Normally I would not be so upset but our server never really even checked on us or gave us an update. To top it off we were all also played at different time over a 20 minute period. Been here on trivia nights with some friends. The service has been very good. I am not into beer that tastes like a fruit bowl so I tried their Lager. It was mostly harmless. Not very easy on the tongue, like most micro brewing joints this acquiescence to a traditional flavor is obviously an afterthought. They really want you to get a pitcher of Peach-raspberry-mango-pimento-rhubarb-shandy-seltzer. Just ugh. The Housewives of Sandudky probably think it is swell. The food is hit or miss. I had the boneless Buffalo chix and it was exactly what you are thinking of right now. Nothing special, just decent and edible. On the subject of edibility... The Sandusky spicy chix sandwich was a significant disappointment. All of the pieces seemed to be there and nice, except for the protien slab. I have had plenty of "hot" chicken over the years so I feel like I have a reasonable expectation. This was exceptionally oily, and if the oil had been hot chili oil that would have been OK. It wasn't. The breading was mostly flavorless, hints of black pepper... The protien itself was strange. Grainy, like eating chicken sand after biting from the sandwich. I cannot recall ever having had chicken with that consistency. Yet, I delved in deeper hoping that the middle might be better, it wasn't. Soooo bland, the mayo helped, but it was no match for the slab of chicken sand. It tasted terrifyingly bad Thank your favorite diety that the fries were actually VERY lovely as were the pickle slices. I wish the ramekin containing the catsup would have been filled even half-way. No bottles visible from my under tent position. A friend I trust had a pizza and reported that it was pretty good. I had no sample. The potty was spotless, which was surprising considering its a one-holer and the line outside was three deep when I got there and four deep when I got out... So to summarize: One star for good service, despite the servers being overwhelmed by the volume of guests. One star for the clean potty, despite it being about two openings short for such a big place. One star for the effort to provide a not fruit flavored beer, despite being just passable. Minus one star for the terrifying chicken sandwich. Minus one star for the ubiquitousness of the atmosphere. You can get this atmosphere, literally, anywhere. Will I go back? Sure, to spend time with friends playing trivia and eating some generic bar food and a beer from a macro-brewery, yeah. Unless something changes, thats all this will ever be. Fantastic! A+ food! So sorry that while we were there a baseball group had completely taken over the restaurant and had ATTITUDE. Our server told us that the group called ahead and was told that the restaurant didn't have enough capacity to serve them, yet they came anyway. I feel bad for anyone in the food service industry who has to endure the badmouthing and snarky remarks that their server got (we were also told that the young man had just started working there). Obviously if you bring in 30+ people into a small family restaurant you won't get served super fast. Our waitress was amazing and the food was fantastic! Yes, we did have a wait a bit but the walleye was well worth it. To the "Academy Stars" baseball group from NY who showed their true colors, you all should be absolutely ashamed of your behavior and the example you are setting for your children. I had high expectations to try this place out- it had great reviews. But everyone, including myself- was really disappointed in the food. My burger was very sub-par. Fries were good. My friend got a salad- it was super small- especially given the price. They didn't give her dressing with it. Then charged her extra when she asked for it. We loved going here with our dog, Ranger, last Saturday night. They had great food - I got a burger and my husband did too. They were both cooked exactly the way we asked them. They brew their own beer and my favorite was the Sandbrewski. It was a really smooth IPA. We sat ourselves in the covered patio at a table with metal patio chairs but after dinner we stayed for a bit to listen to the live music, which was great also. We then moved outside to a comfortable area with a couch and two chairs with an umbrella. Ranger helped himself to the couch! read more
