We called 007 Handyman on yesterday (Thursday 31August) to ask about installing a new toilet. To our great pleasure they were able to make an appointment for today, Friday 01September. They contacted us this morning to ask if they could come over early to do the installation! Wow, most handymen we have used before didn't communicate well, were late for appointments, or didn't show up. Color us impressed with Ewald and his son! OMG, what a nightmare. Called this company to do a simple repair. Project: Repair side gate. Replace 1 2x4 which was rotten and re-affix 1 gate latch which was loose. That's it, that was the job. As basic as it gets. Day 1: Avi shows up 3 hours late with no call saying he would be late. Dude looks at the rotten 2x4 and says "No need to replace the wood, it's still ok and I can fix it". I told him a new 2x4 is 5 dollars and do not want him to spend time trying to salvage a rotten piece. Avi leaves after 10 minutes and says someone else will be here tomorrow to do the repair. (See pictures) Day 2: Rick shows up and does the most awful repair work I've ever seen in my 25 years as a home owner. The 2x4 he used was old and damaged, 2 vertical boards are now cracked, 2 screws points are protruding on each side because he used the wrong screw length, the latch is crooked and he left a mess. I called to complain. Avi said he would be out tomorrow at lunchtime to re-do the repair. Day 3: I called Avi at 12pm to find out when he is coming. He said he would be driving to my house shortly. Avi never shows and texted me 2 1/2 hours later saying he would come out tomorrow afternoon. I called him and said that he needs to be here tomorrow morning first thing to get this done. Day 4: Avi shows up on time for once. I start to complain to him about the poor quality work and that I am furious at him for wasting so much of my time for a simple project. He interrupts me several times saying "Let me say something". I said no more excuses and to fix my gate properly right now. This guy has no idea how to deal with people. Here's a clue: When you no show or show up late more than once without calling, and do a crappy job, people take offense. Especially with such an easy project. It is disrespectful and unprofessional. Needed some fixes done at my house on short notice. 007 came out on time and very courteous while also following COVID precautions. I had a list of several things like removing shelves and fixing doors that were off their hinges. Each item on the list was moved through smoothly and they even took the time to explain what they were doing. At the end I paid easily by credit card and was emailed a receipt. I purchased a barn door that was extremely heavy and we wanted to install it in our master bedroom. When purchasing, we were misguided and realized that it could not be installed on the wall; the track only worked from the ceiling. In addition, the direction of the track would not be possible to install the door after the fact. Avi and his team came to our home 3 times to plan and figure out a scenario to be able to install it properly as we could not return the item. They were not deterred and were motivated to make sure we were happy as new customers. After careful planning over a week, the team came to our house, installed the barn door and it works flawlessly! I hired Avi 100% based on his yelp reviews. When he came for an estimate he was nice and friendly, but seemed liked he would cut corners to "save us money". I wasn't so sure but my husband liked him so we hired him to fix our side gate (it was dragging), patch a hole in our living room wall and repair our side door (replace a small portion of the door frame with new wood, sand and paint). All I can say is I wish I'd been home while they were here working so I could have supervised and perhaps things would have been done better (I was out of town on business, my husband was here). It looks like the jobs were done by hacks. Terrible!! The gate doesn't work (It's still dragging), the door they repaired looks like my little daughter filled it in with silly putty, and as for the hole in the wall - it looks terrible. You can see where all of the patching was done, its not even close to being smooth and they painted over it. Now we are going to have to re-do all of the work ourselves which is what we were trying to avoid. When I called and asked Avi to come repair things he said "Well, your husband said it was fine." They also left a huge mess behind - sawdust, screws and pieces of splintered wood. When I asked Avi why they didn't clean up after themselves he said "Your husband said he'd have your son do it to save money since we work hourly." I asked my husband about this and he said he'd never agreed to that, it makes no sense. He did say he'd have our son paint the gate when they were done, not clean up after them. He replaced all of the decaying parts in my tank at an affordable price... he offered a free estimate and didn't overcharge like some of the bigger plumbing companies (e.g. Rotorooters, which I called for an estimate before). He even drove out to buy special parts for my unit and drove straight back to continue the repairs. Although he is based in Westlake Village, he drove out to serve me in Tarzana at no extra charge. Avi is awesome. He not only did great work fixing the sub-flooring and installing tile in our bathrooms, but he was confident enough to know his limitations. We had another issue with a shower pan, and he was smart enough to ask us to bring in a contractor to properly diagnose what the actual problem was. I have now used 007 remotely 3 times. Although the communications don't always go smoothly (I have requested that they contact my house manager when I'm not in California but I would get the call anyway) but overall they have completed all the jobs well and the prices have been extremely fair. Years ago I hired them to replace an old shower (inset) soap dish, they have installed lockboxes, replaced cabinet glass fronts and recently fixed an outdoor garden hose valve that was leaking at my home. We did have one issue whereas the repair person brought the wrong drill and had to come back and do the fix the next day. But I wasn't charged extra so it was fine. I tend to have patience with the scheduling because I would rather have the repair done correctly and take a bit longer than sloppily and hastily. Thus far, I've had no problems. This review is specifically for Pablo, who works for 007 Handyman. I had a vision for some wall space along my stairs which involved hanging 16 different frames, shelves, a large mirror and artwork. Pablo arrived alone, patiently listened to what I wanted and worked for several hours until the job was done perfect. He came prepared with all the necessary tools, nails and anchors - and added wire to frames that didn't necessarily need it, but it ensured they were extra secure against the wall. 3 stars because Avi was prompt at accepting my business, however very shady and I don't know enough about plumbing to know whether he is trustworthy or not. Note that I manage this property for my parents from afar. Was asked to replace a faucet in my parents' rental property. He did so, suggested we also replace the upstairs faucet, and I confirmed that was okay. Apparently there was water under the sink immediately after the installation that our tenant pointed out, but Avi said that was normal. A week later, there was still a puddle of water. The tenants eventually called back and Avi's tech returned to fix that problem, which was apparently due to corroded shut off valves. Then the tech noticed another leak at the second sink that had its faucet replaced. Apparently the seal (which was not replaced during installation) had the water supply leaking from it. After the first return, I received an email from Avi telling me the situation and that he would be billing me for both visits post-faucet installation. Yes, he did the job of installing the faucets. However, he did not do a thorough job, looking at the environment surrounding the faucets to see if anything would need to be replaced since the pressure would change (?) with a new faucet. And to tell me he was going to charge me after performing the work does not seem professional. Too many times I have been taken advantage of trying to care for my parents because I cannot physically be there all the time. This one seems like it should be added to the list. read more

The 007 Handyman business is a family owned business. On 6-25-2018 Ewald Landmann and his son Andre came to our house to do projects for my wife. I have a new knee and can not climb ladders. I am not handy with tools. They did four projects in less than an hour. These projects would have taken me 2 hours on a good day. They charge $75 for the first hour. They do Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Drywall, Doors, Windows, Locks, Flooring, Cabinets, Tiles, Carpentry, and Crown Molding. They did a great job on the projects at our house. I used these guys to repair a damaged access point from a crap plumbing company my crap home warranty sent out. These guys came out, fixed the molding and drywall and did so correctly. Fully cleaned up when they were done, no issues and was a wonderful job. They floated the drywall and even caulked and sanded. All I had to do was paint. I have mixed feelings about the two toilets we had installed at our house. We ordered two toilets, one of which, was delivered broken, the other was fine. It wasn't until the the plumber showed up to install the toilets that an issue was discovered, my bad. We already paid for the job up front through Amazon and they were accommodating with coming a second time to install the replacement toilet. The first toilet appears to be installed perfectly, no problems. This might be attributed to the fact that Avi was supervising. It was the second toilet we ran into issues. It started because the previous flex line was short given the old toilet was low to the ground and the new one was higher. I guess they didn't carry extra flex lines with them. So what happened was they seated the toilet bowl at an angle to reach the existing water supply line and used the old flex line. As such, the previous flex line was fully stretched and the toilet bowl was tilted to the left to reach it. There was also a slow leak from the water supply valve. Additionally, the caulking around the toilet turned blue after it set. I have never seen this before, but it appears to be because it wasn't cleaned properly. The previous caulking on the older toilet that was applied about a month ago was completely white. We called them and they came out to fix everything. I walked the installer through the issues I noticed but never took ownership of the issues noted. During his repair, I chit chatted and asked if they would be interested in demoing our SPA deck. He mentioned he could provide an estimate for the job after the repair. When the repair was done, the installer asked for $15 for the water supply line as a "materials cost". It was my understanding that a toilet water supply line costs about $6, so I offered for him to take his water supply line with him and had a talk with his owner (Andre) over the phone. Given all the issues with second toilet, we didn't think this should be our burden. The owner spoke with the installer and worked it out. The installer left without doing the estimate for the demo job. He either forgot or no longer wanted our business. Anyhow, later that evening I notice small instances of blue on the caulking again with the second toilet. I think if the area was cleaned properly and better caulking (polyseamseal) we wouldn't be having this issue. We tried contacting the owner, but he was unresponsive. I guess I'll be doing the cleanup work. The main takeaway is that a company should do things the right way as a matter of principle from start to finish. read more

I hired 007 Handyman to trim a pocket door once new flooring had been installed. Avi quoted me a price of $250 which was $120 higher than my contractor's price! His subcontractor went to the condo to do the work. He said it would be the same price to replace the whole door as to trim the door. I then waited and waited. Nothing happened. After two weeks I followed up with Avi. He stated that I needed to pay for the work in advance. I paid him $300 immediately ($50 for some minor repairs done on the first visit). Still nothing happened. Avi is now demanding an additional $300. No work done. Run do not use this handyman. He doesn't keep his promises and doesn't do the work that has already been paid for. I have asked for my money back and he continues to lie to me about what was done at my condo! read more

Don't use this company. All the paint is peeling off my doors and walls. I spent a lot of money to have the inside of my house painted. in August 2012. The quality of work they did was horrible. I would NOT recommend using this company. I called a real professional painter and he fixed the big mess Avi left us with, so I had to pay twice for something that should have been done right the first time. This is the first time I used 007 Handyman. I was able to get thru to Avi immediately on the phone. He showed up on time the following day. My wooden fence door was difficult to open, He repaired it less than an hour and the door is operating perfectly. I also had him replace some wood trim & stucco moulding due to dry rut.
