Had them come to remove an item and was quoted one price after providing a very detailed description of the scope of the job. When they got there, they told me the price was more than double.....I about fell over in shock at the price. It was a fairly straightforward removal, no elevators, etc. they even would be using our flatbeds. I told him I could not do that and they made a phone call and dropped it a little bit... offering to not charge for one of the employees. I had to send them on their way because both prices were well above what I was quoted.... Then they called back and said they would do the job for the original quote.... It truly felt like I was being taken advantage of once they looked at the beautiful building. Not happening..... very disappointed, but I have found another solution. I would recommend sending pictures, measurements, etc. when obtaining the quote. It seems like they like to upcharge based on other reviews. read more

Called them and they were there in a matter of hours.They were very professional by keeping us informed of the arrival time and costs associated with the removal. We recently replaced a large wood media center and needed to get it out of the house. It was about 6" tall and a few hundred pounds. None of our friends or acquaintances were interested in it. After an unsuccessful attempt to move it out the front entrance I enthusiastically told my wife that we needed a professional. My wife suggested a company she had seen in TV and immediately called "Got Junk." They were courteous, professional and very responsive. The payment was carefully calculated over the phone and they showed up right on time the following morning. The 2 guys were exceptional workers and quickly handled the listed item. These young men were very polite and were very careful about moving the item out through our front door. Thank You!!!!! We have our house back. read more

UPDATE This company reached out after the below bad experience and attempted to make it right. While the timing remained an issue and I had already done all the work I originally requested, I did appreciate their responsiveness and willingness to make amends. I ended up with 30 bags of garbage that, it turns out, Cleveland thinks should simply magically disappear since their sanitation workers are, apparently, physically unable to remove bagged garbage anymore without the bags being in a pre-approved can-- even on bulk day! Now I know why people just throw trash out on the side of the highway as the method suggested by cleveland waste management would have resulted in the process of getting rid of the bags a years-long endeavor. ANYWAY, this prompted me to reach out to Chase, the manager who I originally spoke with and who was sympathetic after actually viewing photos from his workers and seeing it was... just simple trash removal and he gave me a fair-ish price for the new job of getting rid of the bags. I appreciate that they cared enough to make a bad situation better and, therefore, I have amended this rating/review accordingly. Original review: The amount of hoops you have to jump through before their slow and, apparently, fragile "workers" are allowed to actually remove anything is ridiculous. They sent workers out who arrived completely unprepared and charged $350 for about an hour of work and 4 contractor bags. Then they left well before the job was even close to done because they said they would need HAZMAT SUITS because there were two TINY rolls of insulation (seriously, two small rolls of 1 inch thick insulation was enough to stop work. I removed them myself in 4 seconds along with the rest of the work they left unfinished.) They assured they would return the next day (already really too late) to finish. Then, out of nowhere and moments prior to their agreed upon arrival, they called and said that, because there MIGHT be mice, they suddenly canceled. Frankly, the "workers" they sent clearly did not seem to want to work and spent more time talking than working. In comparison, I spent a similar amount of time ACTUALLY working and removed 16 contractor bags BY MYSELF after they left me high and dry. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. There workers are lazy, they are dishonest, difficult (read "shady") to nail down on price and won't actually touch any actual trash needing removed. Hiring this company has caused a tremendous amount of stress as they were unable to assist when they were needed after ensuring they would. I have now been left with zero time to complete the job they ensured they would be able to handle and am in a serious bind due to their inability/unwillingness to do the job they had previously agreed to do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY and, above all, do not expect them to help you in ANY WAY. read more

King size mattress removal was given an estimate of $98 on the call. When the servicemen arrived they quoted $190 + taxes. Was lucky enough to have another quote from Ohio Junk Force to which they price matched! Never recommend their service, though they were professional and did it clean, because of the price changes! Mike contacted me after I posted my review. He apologized profusely that I had not been reimbursed for the door repair. After speaking with him, I believe it just got misplaced on his desk and I was reimbursed promptly. The guys who came to take the junk were super nice and professional. We had two different teams on two days and both were great. The only complaint I had was with the door and that's been rectified. I would use them again. read more

I hired them to remove a hot tub from my back yard. They were supposed to inspect the job before they gave me a price. They did not. I texted them pics and they quoted me $450. A date for the removal was set. On the day that they were supposed to remove the tub, they changed the arrival time window from 10-12 to 11-1 without informing me. At 2PM I called them asking where was their crew and was told they would arrive in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I get a call to tell me they are 30 minutes out. Now it is 2:30PM. A truck too small for the tub shows up with only two guys. They try to move a 500 pound hot tub with a two-wheel dolly that has flat tires! Since they couldn't move it in one piece, they wanted to cut the tub up into pieces with a saws-all! I said "No" and told them I would reschedule a time when they could bring more help. I wasted five hours waiting for them. They rescheduled a pick-up for the next day. I called later and cancelled the appointment. The next day I hired a company that specialized in moving hot tubs. They arrived on time with a four man crew, the proper equipment and was done in 10 minutes for only $50 more. read more

I called to have my hot tub removed which they assured me they do. Luke was awesome at calling me every 90 minutes to tell me they were going to be late. At the end of the day he agreed we needed to reschedule and he would send me a quote after I sent him some photos. I was then ghosted. No further communication. So, they are awesome at telling you they're late, not great at actually showing up and doing the work. After a few days, I hired someone else. This company provided me with such amazing service, I was super impressed. I was moving out of my house needed a large bulk pick up because there were a lot of things that I just did not care to take with me and I was over the whole moving process. I called and The customer service representative was very friendly and detailed was giving me information. It really put me at ease. The guys that moved the junk were very courteous, described everything thoroughly and were very quick. I was super impressed with this company. Not as advertised they get to your house block your driveway and quote you the highest possible price from there website. If you do not accept they want to negotiate a lower price thru several different managers and owners . I felt like I was at bad used car dealership and was being strong armed into a sale. In the end we came to a agreement on a price and junk was remove in about 10 minutes I spent more time on the phone then the job actually took. Tough company to do business with be prepared to be aggravated. It is probably cheaper to rent a truck and if you have a place available to dump it yourself. read more

This company is very unreliable and unorganized. If I could give 0 stars I would. Understandably, they could not give an accurate quote over the phone without seeing what junk needed to be removed, however did do a free consultation, and came over very promptly to look at items to be moved, so they could give a more accurate quote. I was given the quote, satisfied, and had them schedule the removal 2 days later. They came today, and gave me a COMPLETELY different and higher quote. When I explained what the other movers told me, and exactly what they said they could do (stack furniture to take up less room in truck for cheaper price), they gave me the opposite response and wanted to charge a minimum of 100$ more than my previous estimate. On top of that, when I called the main number and spoke with a supervisor he said the best he could do to help was start an investigation and have it looked into, but offered no solution for this mistake. On top of that, he had no record of anyone even coming on Wednesday, and asked if I was sure it was the same company. 1800GOTJUNK is pretty straight forward lol, not to mention the guys who did the estimate are the ones who scheduled the move today. 2 different groups of guys. They were very unorganized and not helpful, and I wasted 3 days I could have had someone else do it. FYI, I suggest calling other local companies, in your area, as I just found out 1800GOTJUNK is VERY over priced along with zero organization and unhelpful customer service. I'm relocating out of state and have some stuff that I couldn't donate or didn't want to leave on the side walk for trash day. I googled and found 1-800-Got-Junk. The webpage appeared a little out of the box cheesy, but you could schedule online in great detail, picking days and hours - I chose to have my stuff picked up the next day. Simply put - they do what they say they will. The pickup was to be between 1 and 3pm. The guys actually called early and did their stuff. Nice folks too. The guys who came for pickup were great. Quick and clean. Swept up the location. We filled 7/8 of a truck from a 6ft tall crawl space. 1 hour to remove everything, load the truck, sweep the floor and it was painless. I had them come out to move a sofa and the guys thought later to open my storm door wider so it wouldn't be in the way. So they broke the glass in the storm door and I'm still waiting for them to fix it. I much rather they would have let me fix it instead of waiting weeks for it. They took some money off, the cost of removing the sofa but they left with the storm window after they told me to fix it, with the money that was taken off the bill. I was on my porch looking for it and I called to find out what was going on and the person they told me to call, about the repair didn't know what was going on either. read more

I am currently going through a huge move cross country and was absolutely desperate for help. I herd about 1-800 got junk and decided to call for an estimate. Though the pricing gave me a heart attack, they kindly offered the choice of them coming to my home and reviewing everything. The two gentlemen I believe by the name of Will and Chad (I'm terrible with names!) were absolutely amazing! They gave me the estimate price and I was so taken back by there respect and friendliness that I decided to move forward. They took more then I planned on and all I can say is THANK YOU! I never leave reviews but I'm literally writing a review five minutes after they left because these guys are amazing! I will definitely call them again and recommend them to anyone!
