No move is going to go perfectly. But friendly, polite movers can definitely make the day less irritating for everyone. The day kicked off a half hour late; fine. No biggie. When the two arrived, it was determined that there was absolutely no way they could possibly finish before 5 pm (it was 830 am), so they decided to call for another guy. Again, fine. The packing began. And not exactly at an urgent pace. I found myself peering outside to see where people had disappeared to. There seemed to be a lot of discussion on the phone when I had hoped there would be a lot of organized moving of stuff into boxes. That was the other thing: the actual packing itself was carefully but like, totally scatterbrained. I literally saw two five-pound hand weights (matching colors no less) get packed into totally separate boxes because "that's where there was room"...I dunno, when I moved out to Cleveland I had my previous place packed, and it was incredibly organized and tidy and painless, so I guess I was set up for high expectations going into this? Anyway, the third person didn't arrive for SEVERAL hours later, after lots of complaining about how the quote had been done, and lots of "we don't do that"s, and it all just seemed sort of ...unnecessary. I didn't come up with the quote, and I can't change it, so why are you complaining to me about it? And shouldn't you be more concerned with the fact that this helper you so desperately needed isn't showing up? In the end, the final cost was more than the quote. I gave two stars because yes, things did get packed in the POD in the end, but I've paid less for much kinder, friendly, organized service. I'd keep your eyes peeled for a better service before hiring this group. You just never know who you're going to get. And yes, I did express this directly to the company in an email. I got absolutely no reply. Certainly no offer of monetary compensation but not even a teeny little ....sorry? Cripes. read more

They called a week before delivery letting me know what day to expect, again a few days later with a time window, and the day of with a half hour notice. My husband and I planned our move over a month in advanced - had the movers scheduled to come on a Friday from 8-10am. Got a call at 8am that one of their workers had a personal issue come up and had to move us back a few hours.. ok. In the meantime my husband and I busted our butts getting as much moved in that time. 3pm rolls around, no call, no show. We call AGAIN, where are you guys? "they are packing up and on their way to you" after being told multiple times they were "on their way" 5:30pm rolls around and we get a call that they will not be moving us that day because they guys came back and clocked out. So Now MY 9 MONTH OLD SON HAD NO WHERE TO SLEEP!!!!! These people are incredibly unprofessional and unreliable.. excuse after excuse instead of being honest with us from the beginning and wasting our ENTIRE DAY.. AND THEN they refused to even refund us half of the move... So incredibly disrespectful!!!! Now I will say the crew that DID show up the next day did a great job and were tipped well since we fully expected this move to be discounted and wanted to make sure we took care of the men helping us... but after this experience we will NEVER recommend them to any family or friends! read more

Andrew's moving is a very unprofessional company. They make excuses and then never show up! After scheduling my move date over a month in advance, I get a call saying they are going to be late due to a foreman's personal issue(ok, I understand that) but once you tell me they will be there between a certain time and then once again they no show. Then I was told another excuse of how they are packing up and heading my way very soon. Finally, 8 hours after they were supposed to be at my house I get a call from their operation manager saying they weren't coming. Normally, this would have not been an issue but more of an irritation and I could manage except I have a 9month old and half his stuff was in one house and half in the other. They tell me it will be the next day, they finally show up at 10am. The guys who actually showed up did a great job! After all this; being an entire day late, and all the other hassles I had to deal with they felt it was right to charge me full price, which was actually more than my quoted price because there was more to move than originally said to be. I will never suggest Andrew's moving to anyone! Horrible company to work with. read more

We purchased a mattress set from US Mattress and Andrews was their delivery company. We were given a window for them to arrive from 10am to noon. They showed up just after 9:30am. No one was home yet. I returned home at 9:50am. They called just after that stating I would need to reschedule delivery, no phone number was given for me to do this. This was also just prior to 10am and they never tried to return to deliver our mattress set. When we did figure out how to contact them.. they wanted to come over 3 weeks later, they said this was the earliest they had. We promptly cancelled our order and went elsewhere and are now very happy. Don't trust these guys. read more

After checking out 3 other moving companies, we decided to use Andrews in November 2018 for a local move in the Cleveland area. I have moved from New York to Chicago and from Chicago to Cleveland and have never had a better experience with something that can be a life altering experience. Everyone from the sales person (Jackie) who gave us practical advice on whether to use Andrew's service to pack us or to pack ourselves, to the crew (led by the amazingly talented Ed) that moved us both out of our home and into our new, was above amazing! The crew was so respectful of both of our homes and treated us with a courtesy that is not found too often in today's "me first" world. We have furniture that is of good quality, is heavy and has been in our family for nearly 40 years. The movers took such painstaking time to not only wrap our furniture, but to also place in every spot of our new home, not matter how inconvenient. This is not a moving company that you want to work with. If you are not watching the movers, they will damage items. My husband hired two movers to help him move and they set a fabric couch in the dirty snow. They did wrap it before putting it into the truck, so it sat soiled like that on the truck ride. When I made a claim for this, they told me that they would not pay for repair since it was our responsibility to watch them move and wrap everything. They also misjudged the size of truck we would need, even though we gave a detailed inventory, so everything had to be repacked in another truck at our expense. They will not cover anything that is damaged during transport either. Moving is such a hassle, no one needs a further hassle from the company that they work with. read more

One problem with this company is that it really depends on what crew you get. The first year I used them everything went okay, the movers went super fast and moved several boxes at a time. The second year, I only hired movers to get my bed upstairs, in which they assured me would not be a problem. They tried one time to get my bed upstairs and said nope not going to happen and left it in my living room for me to deal with. This completely nullified my reason for hiring them. The crew moved one box at a time and even jokes about they never meet the time quoted. They went well over their quoted time and I ended up paying 33% more than my quote. Make sure you budget for them going over. They marked on my charge that they didn't take any breaks but I sure count numerous smoke breaks as time not spent moving. Additionally, they came unprepared and se t me to the store to buy tools, because obviously all mine were packed. That would have been fine except I returned sooner than expected to them not working at all. We even started moving our own boxes in because of how long it was starting to take. I sent a letter of complaint to my moving coordinator only to be completely ignored. Best of luck to you if you choose Andrew ' s Moving because I won't be using them for my next move. read more

I used Andrews Moving (& United Van Lines) for a long distance move from Ohio to Colorado. Everything about my move was smooth. Someone came by my apartment for a walk through to quote the move. He was very courteous and explained the moving process in detail. The driver and movers were efficient and protected my belongings. Best of all, the quoted price was the price I paid. Even though I was provided with a "binding" quote, I was highly skeptical that this was the price they would end up charing me. Having read numerous moving horror stories, online, I figured I would be hit with some extra charges from out of the blue at my destination. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case with this professional outfit. Go with Andrews Moving. You may pay a bit of a premium but it will save you a ton of headaches. read more

I used Andrews Moving & Storage Company to do an interstate move. My move coordinator was excellent. She was responsive and kept me informed about all the necessary details. The packing crew arrived on time and efficiently packed my belongings. They did such a good job nothing was broken or scratched upon arrival. The move coordinator handled everything with the local United Van Lines agent. When the local agent (not Andrews) broke some of my belongings upon delivery, the Andrews move coordinator helped me with my claim. United Van Lines then promptly reimbursed me for the damage without question. The quoted price was exactly how much it cost. I paid a premium to have a guaranteed delivery date, which was definitely worth it. read more

Hired this company to move a retail store, They broke glass in 6 showcases (costing several hundred dollars to replace). broke a file cabinet so that the doors jammed and had to use a pry bar to retrieve files (rendering them permanently broken). The move that was supposed to begin at 7 pm and end at 2 am with men who had not already worked all day was actually done by men who were exhausted because they had already put in a 12 hour day. The movers stole our dollies replacing and instead left their lower quality dollies in their place, which were later picked up by their salesperson, while ours were never returned. Sadly this moving company made an already stressful situation much more difficult than it should have been. read more

We are in the process of moving from Akron Ohio to Hot Springs Village Arkansas. We chose Andrews Moving and Storage because they assured us that they would have some idea of when our shipment would arrive on the day that the packers came. Well, they lied to us. The packers came and went and when Anita, the expediter, called, she said that she would have no idea when our shipment would arrive until July 9th. Our contract says that our shipment will arrive between July 9th and July 14th or they have to pay penalties, but now they are telling us that they have no clue when it will arrive until the time that it is supposed to arrive! The packers were not very professional. One of the 20 year old packers admitted to me that he had started with the company 3 months ago and had not even completed the packing class that he was supposed to before going out on jobs. Instead, he was learning on the job! We paid a LOT of money for this move and did not expect to be guinea pigs to be used to train their employees. They tried to pack up the wet towels that were hanging in our master bathroom but did not pack up any of the contents of the bathroom drawers. The grabbed a sweater that was hanging on the back of the chair that I was sitting in and packed that but did not bother packing the welcome mats. They tried to pack up all the toilet paper hanging in the bathrooms next to the toilet before my husband caught them. I would definitely find a different moving company if I had it to do over again. read more

Don't, just don't if you have a choice. We didn't, Nordic track contracted them to deliver our new elliptical. Here are my reasons. First: They called and left message to arrange delivery. My wife called back at 4:15 pm, was placed on hold and she finally hung up at 5:35 after I called from a separate line to discover they closed at 5 pm. They just forgot my wife on hold. Secondly: I talked to a female scheduler who promised an afternoon delivery, which was perfect because this is a third shift house hold. The next day I get a call from a male scheduler moving it to a morning delivery and to get the more convenient afternoon delivery would require I wait an extra week to get the delivery. They promised a call 30 minutes prior to delivery. Thirdly: Day of delivery, no call 30 mins prior, delivery guys knock on door like police and get dogs going crazy waking up everyone that works 3rd shift. So if you want great customer service and easy, reliable scheduling THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU. If you're looking to irritated the person receiving the delivery, by all means this is the place you want. read more

We had several expensive items damaged. Twelve to be exact. We paid for special crating for two items which were damaged beyond repair. That $700 charge was money lost. We received a call informing us that two of our lamps were destroyed because they were dropped in the warehouse. They arrived in multiple pieces and were put in the trash by the movers. It took a year to receive a settlement. We had to file three insurance claims. One to the original mover that picked up the furniture, one with the warehouse that stored the furniture and one with the cross country carrier that transported and delivered the furniture. After we received the settlements it became our responsibility to ask the individual companies for their deductibles. We still believe we did not get all of our belongings, but the missing boxes were not on the warehouse inventory when it was picked up. Frustrating experience. read more
