Do not use this company in the Denver Metro area. They were two hours late and showed up with a full truck which resulted in another 90 minute delay. So a 3:30 -5:30 window for a simple job took until 9:00 in the evening. The guys worked hard but the franchisee's performance in terms of scheduling is inexcusable. They also called a number of times to say they were on the way and didn't show up within the delayed window either. Just a terrible experience and terrible service. I would not recommend this company. I called the customer service line,spoke to a nice representative. I explained that I had a king headboard..all wood.. 5 pieces he said it would be 75 dollars.. I said are you sure he placed me on hold and said I'm so sorry my rates are out of date and it will be 100 dollars if you can get it outside for pickup.I once again said are you sure 5 pieces that doesn't make a difference.. No.. all wood its the same price.. yes.. I said ok let me talk to my husband and I'll call back.He said we are booking quickly and let me just book your appt now so you don't miss the window.. ok He booked me doe 1130-130 Saturdat 8/7.. The truck driver called me about 1100 and said we have 3 jobs before you so it will be closer the the 130 time. No problem I said.. heard nothing until 230 by text saying he will give me an update in about an hour for a time frame. I responded I'm sorry we made the appt early due to a reservation that we have. He contacted the office and had then send me a cc authorization form. I thought that was nice of them. I took a picture of my items as requested. They arrived at 430ish and called me to say the quote was wrong and it will be 230.. I called customer service and requested a manager. Which he called me quickly he explained that there is no way they could honor that quote. I said your recording says all calls are recorded pull the recording and verify the quote and that I explained exactly what. I had to be picked up and the rep responded with the quote. The manager said he will escalate this to higher management.. And still today no response.. no follow-up. I let him know I imderstood being busy and them arriving late. I would not recommend using 1-800-got-junk. I was given an initial estimate of $175 for the items I have. I was told that it could be less when they arrived for pick up. A 2 hour time frame was agreed upon (1PM - 3PM). I then received 2 phone calls the day of pick up. The first call I was told that they would be here within the time frame. The second call came at 2:54PM and I was informed that they would not be here until 3:30PM. I was also asked how big the items were because of limited room available on the truck. I asked if I needed to disassemble the items. I was told that it would help because price is depending on how much room the items take up. So I disassembled one of the items. Upon arrival I was told there is a minimum charge of $175. Then I was told about an additional charge for a tire on a rim. Now mind you all items were explained when I set up the appointment and there was no mention of additional charges. The individuals doing the work were very professional. Very polite and professional fellas who kept me informed of their anticipated arrival time and removed the mattress and box spring from my home. However, the costs are not revealed online or by phone up front and turn out to be OUTRAGEOUS once they arrive and you just want it gone. I guessed it might be around $50, but turned out to be $175 for 4 minutes of their time. Nonetheless, I feel a little better knowing some of the money I paid, but didn't have to spend, went to their incomes and the mattress and boxspring MIGHT be disassembled for recycling the materials. Set-up a time window 12 noon to 2:30 pm. At noon recieved a call they would be by around 1:30 to 2:30. At 3:30 no one had showed up or called so I called customer service (some guy in India who spoke broken English). Was told I was scheulded for 3:30 to 4:30! Rhonda be in charge for a full truckload because of the way they just threw things in there. Probably could've been only a 3/4 load if they stacked it properly. First let me say that, for the most part, they did exactly as they promised and dug up a big pile of dirt and hauled it off for me for $350 - and saving my back alone after PUTTING the dirt there in the first place was worth it to me. SUPER easy to deal with these folks and the guys that came by were both very nice. You call a number, they come by, give you a quote on the spot and leave if you don't want to pay or haul your junk off if you do. Pretty sound deal to me. The only negative thing I would say about them is their web site really promises "leave no trace of your pickup" (I'm paraphrasing here) but they didn't really do that. While I didn't expect them to pressure wash the street when they were done they left a decent mess behind that I had to clean up myself. I don't have a problem cleaning up the mess in the least, just that if a company says they are going to do something and charges you a premium for their service I hold them to that. For that reason alone I give them an "A-OK" rather than any higher rating. Since 1-800-GOT-JUNK is a franchise I think this lands squarely on the Denver franchise for not upholding the company promises. Again, not a huge deal, but enough for me to knock a star or two off. read more

Called to get pricing on a bad water heater that I had already moved to the front of the yard.. evidently they don't *do* pricing over the phone, but were pretty adamant that they send over one of their trucks to give me an estimate and if I didn't like it I could say no. So they came, told me that it would be $140 dollars to move the water heater 5 feet from my yard to the truck. I told them no. They evidently went back and forth with a supervisor, came back and said the Sup approved $60 since they were already there. I said no this time on principal because they couldn't do it for that price in the first place (Still pretty pricey IMHO). Both of the employees were friendly and helpful and removed both eyesores out of my condo without any hassle. Two thumbs down. One for this particular franchise and the other for the 1-800 dispatch "support". I was given a 2 hour window from 2-4. I waited until 4 and no call came and no truck showed up. Calling the 1-800 number at 4 didn't help. They said the franchise operator would call me immediately. 15 minutes passed and still no call. Called the 1-800 number again and they told me that the franchise operator had been trying to call me for 15 minutes. ...but no calls or voicemails on my phone. We confirmed the phone number was correct and the 1-800 person said the truck was running late. If they're running late, shouldn't they call as soon as they know they'll be late? ...instead of after they already missed the window. When I asked the dispatch number to call it into a different franchise, they said there was nothing they could do. These guys have a ton of competition - I was able to schedule another pickup service for the following morning in about 10 minutes. This franchise and 1-800-waste-your-time are both fired. Picking up garbage isn't a rare skill - I can throw a rock and hit someone else that can get it done. read more

Terrible customer service and they over charge. I had an appointment window between 9 and 11 but they didn't show up until 12:30. I was told I would get a 10% discount for the inconvenience. Once they finally showed up they quoted $400 for a small amount of items and also stated they were not giving us the 10% discount. I told them no and sent them on their way. I love these guys! I've used 1-800-Got-Junk all over the country and they never let me down. This Colorado team was excellent. Also, the website works great (I hate making phone calls). I selected my ideal date/time (it was the very next day) and briefly described my "junk" (did a poor job of it, actually, because later I found a lot more stuff to get rid of), and once I submitted my request, I immediately got a confirmation. The next day, I got a call (as expected) before my pickup time and the guys were able to come by a little bit earlier which was AWESOME! They explained the process and pricing clearly, took all my junk (including a hard-to-get-rid-of TV and computer monitor), and were very nice and friendly. I'm ecstatic that all my junk is GONE! Consumers can certainly call around for other removal options, but the ones you mentioned don't have that response time and are not always responsible with your items. We charge based on the space used in our truck. We do all the work for you and we continue working for you after we leave your property making sure all your items go to the right places. All our clients have the option to say "No Thank You" before we load anything. They were trying to charge me $360, and I had to have them leave a couple small things to get the price of $288....They litterally left a couple small items I had to deal with. I was hosed because I had to have it out that day and they took advantage of that. In my old home I found a guy on craigslist that was professional, came on time, and took 3 -4 times the amount I had yesterday for only $100. There is no justification for they way they quote rates, and it's unfair to the customer. Again, if that's the way you rate your hauls by portions of the truck, then have dividers so you can actually see how much can be shoved in that space. I guarantee I could of got all of my goods in the minimum space, no problem. But, I got charged for more. Then they ask for a tip on top of that....WOW. NEVER AGAIN! I called these guys to remove 2 sofas. When the appointment was scheduled, I talked to customer service about price matching. I was told the company does price match. 3 guys showed up and weren't going to honor the price match. Before they took the sofa's, the price was to be $175, after they took the sofas, it was $348! I spoke to customer support regarding why I was told one price then charged another. Customer support referred me to the operations manager, Jason Rawson, who sent me a rude email, and was ruder during our phone call. I'll say the same thing I told the operations manager. They give quote over the phone but are quite coy about it. When the truck gets here the price is double what the highest quote over the phone was. Phone quote was $150 to $260. When the truck got here they said it would cost $430. The two guys on the truck were not surprised to be sent away - they said it happen all the time - for the same reason. read more

I wish I'd gotten rid of my junk sooner because this company made it EASY. I got a coupon, then called the 1-800-Got-Junk number. The customer service rep gave me a ball-park price idea based on my description of my mammoth-sized TV, etc. (The price was actually quite good.) That phone-idea helped give me the nudge to schedule a free estimate. They charge based on how much space your junk will take up in their truck. Three guys, Evan, Holden and Connor arrived on-time. They were personable and professional. Evan gave the estimate, I agreed, they loaded the junk from the basement into their truck, and I wrote the check. We had a pick up today before we begin remodeling our office. We had the pleasure of working with Derek and Rocky! These guys were so police and respectful. They worked so hard and cleaned out an entire storage room in a couple of hours!! WOW! They were very informative and we were elated to know that they help organizations like Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity and they try to recycle as much as possible to ensure as much JUNK as possible stays out of our landfills. Scheduled a pick-up to remove junk from our office space in downtown Denver on 12/07/16. The crew showed up within the time window, assessed the job and provided a fair quote. After we agreed to the quote, the crew loaded the junk and began to head for the door at which time the crew supervisor approached and began to re-trade the quoted price. Apparently, the price had now increased from $159 to $255, based on their new "assessment of weight". The website specifically states volume is basis for charge and no reference to weight. I called the 800 number, spoke with a representative which called and spoke with the local office manager. The manger did not waiver from his decision to charge the extra price above the agreed to quote. I ended up not paying the "ransom" price and had the crew unload the junk. I was able to hire a better, local, honest, junk hauling crew the same day and pay $50 less than than 1-800-GOT-JUNK's original price. The company representative stated they would have a costumer care person call within 2 days. Surprise...no call back. Worth a little extra research to ensure you get an honest company who will appreciate your business. read more

When I called for the appointment I was told the upfront pricing based on the amount of room that my stuff (treadmill that folds up & an eliptical) filled in the truck ($136). When the crew came out, they said it would be $276 for the same amount of space. The reason for the increase in price was that we didn't live in Denver (Henderson). This seems foolish since I provided my address when I set up the appointment. The crew was very kind and took care of removing our things. The driver spoke to his manager and got $25 off. But still, $136 to $251. Double! Then I called customer service, the lady was pretty short with me. That the franchise was aware, sorry it isn't update on our end. I recently scheduled a pickup of an entertainment center with 1800GotJunk. In scheduling the pickup, I was never given any pricing information. Instead, all of the information stated that I would receive a quote at the time of pickup. That was it. When the service arrived to remove my one item, I was informed there would be a $136 minimum charge. Removing my item took less than five minutes, so I think $136 is crazy expensive. TERRIBLE!! I was having new furniture delivered so I needed my old stuff hauled off. I called up, set up a pick up time for between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. arranged to take off work, went home, got the house ready and waited.....and waited...and waited. The first crew called about 3:00 saying they were running late and it would be "closer to the end of my scheduled time before they would be at my house". Okay, no problem. Half hour later....they call again. This time they are going to be a little late. A bit frustrated but okay, things happen. Now it's 4:30 and they aren't here. Phone rings, it's now a different crew saying they are stuck at some lady's house because of an elliptical that they had to break down and they should be here in about 1/2 hour. Hmmmm....okay....well 5:30 now rolls around. Guess what? ANOTHER PHONE CALL!!! Some other excuse they are going to be here in 30 minutes. Whatever. Eventually they do show up at 6:30 (2 1/2 hours past the latest time in my "time window"). Load up my armoire, couch, love seat, and ottoman, then ask for $411.00. Yup. I took a half day off work when it wasn't even necessary and I get this generic response to my complaint: Hello Meagan, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. Allow me to apologize on behalf of the local team for not being able to make the arrival window between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on August 15th. We understand that our customer's time is valuable. Very poor service, they were rude and disrespectful. They came to my house and gave me a price, I argued with them because they insisted that the truck was filled to 1/4 but my stuff only took a small corner but yet charged me $270 for a few items. They pressured me into giving them a good review and asked what else they can take and do so I told them with the what there charging me for them to take my recycling bin but then they just looked at me and said no.. I was appalled that this is the kind of company that treats there customers with dishonest prices.... I gave them a bad review and got a call from there head office, I told him my experience and he apologized but was unable to refund any over charges as I had signed off on it. Paid $636.00 for a 3/4 load. This was on 8/5/16. They told me they would come back Monday 8/8/16 to finish the job. No show. Finally made it on 8/9/16. Guys arrived with truck. All of a sudden they want another $228 on top of the $626 I had already paid. Got the wife to work it out with their dispatch. Unfortunately, they decided to drive off instead. Now I had to drag this green bag of trash back into my unit again. What a mess. Flew in from Phoenix to clean this 10x30 out. Now I'll have to fly back to Denver again to take care of it. Frontier wants more than what I paid for original flight to extend my return to Phoenix. Again, what a mess. Got junk, you suck! Don't use them, ever. I was sofa shopping on a Sunday and calling around places to get some help finding a place to remove my current sofa. Not a single charity that was open was willing to pick up. I had a very heavy sofa with a large wood frame. The people from this company had a lot of trouble lifting it, and it was a group of strong men, so as a single woman with no upper body strength, I wasn't going to be able to take care of it myself. They called when my time frame started, arrived 15 minutes later, and the sofa was out of my house within two minutes. They cost about the same as other places, sometimes cheaper when they do special deals and promotions. I will definitely go to them first when shopping around for this service if I ever need it again. read more
