After being told NO to picking up our donations from both Salvation Army AND The Goodwill (weird? right?!), I resulted to my last option which was 1800GotJunk. I called the corporate office a few days ago and spoke to Rachel, who helped me schedule their visit to our spot today. GotJunk concept is as follows, they charge ($) depending on the amount of space your junk takes up in huge truck. Rachel was misleading when she told me it was going to cost $129 for the pick up. It's free for they to come to your house and provide an estimate and IF you agree with the price they quote, you can either move forward with the pick up or not- no pressure. $129, that's not what we paid today... I do like how they pick up guys called early this morning to give me a better window to when I would be expected them. They arrived well within the time provided when they called this morning. So when they arrived, after seeing all of our "junk" they then provided the REAL cost to haul it away... Our stuff filled 1/6 of their truck which came out to be around $278. For convenience of how much stuff we had, then yes the cost is what it is. They load and lift and haul away... 75% of the items they pick up, they are able to donate- so that's nice. Customer Service - the assigned team - Jason & Juan contacted me before 8 am, and let me know that they would be at my property by 9 am. 4. Punctuality & Quickness - Juan and Jason were there on time, quickly analyzed the junk and showed me an estimate of the amount of the truck would fill up. They were very quick and efficient with the clean up. They took the time to clean up the area and left it very clean. 5. Price - they are definitely more than your average haul away service. I scheduled my job from 10am - 12 and offered to send a pic of what I needed removed. I was told that was not necessary. On the day of my scheduled job, I was told the job could be 30 minutes late. I never received a 20 minute phone call so I texted the manager. He said it could be 12:15. At 12:05 received that they were swapping out their truck. At 12:34 received a text saying they just left a big job and would be there in an hour or so! Talked to the manager at 12:54 and was told he could bet someone there in 20 minutes. Waited 30 minutes - no show. Had they required pictures they would have a better idea of how big a job would be. You don't get a quote until they show up. So much mangled scheduling with no idea what the cost would be! At one point was told I would get a large (nonspecific) discount. Looking for a more professional junk removal company.
