Wish there was less than one star. The price on the website was $600 for a full truck - when the drivers arrive they presented us with their "new pricing list" where a full truck was $1600. All of our stuff was out on the driveway. In the end it was $1800 and then they expected a gratuity (we offered the smallest amount) and they did not even sweep up. I regret using Got Junk and can only recommend you avoid them and find an alternative service. Sure, the guys did a fine job lugging stuff from my house to their truck. But the pricing is ridiculous and the driver was a shady scammer. Customer service was helpful and gave me a refund to make up for the driver's fraud, but their pricing makes no sense. They initially charged me $787 for 5/8 of a truckload. Customer service said that the truck was actually 3/8 full and refunded me $150 for the overcharge. So a quarter load is $150 and 3/8 of a truckload is $637? I'd report them to the BBS, but they're not even registered. That alone says a lot. read more

Total rip-off. The items that were supposed to be removed were not and items worth something were taken, including an antique rocking chair worth $1,600. My mistake for going to get coffee with my RE agent while they were working. Took totes that were already packed for my move and were not junk. When we complained, then came back with one of them but said they "couldn't find" the other. Now today, I'm packing up my bedroom and it is full of junk just thrown in it that was supposed to be removed. Find someone else--anyone else--to remove your junk. For this I paid $1,250. After 3 1/2 years of unsuccessfully trying to get rid of a huge china hutch and a dresser, I finally broke down and scheduled an appointment with 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I'm not going to lie; $584.15 is really high ( a lot higher than I anticipated) but honestly, after all I've been though in trying to get rid of the stuff, this was a bargain. These guys were lifesavers. They were scheduled between 2-5 and they arrived exactly at 2pm. It only took them roughly an hour because they had to carry that hutch (in separate pieces) from my second floor condo, into the elevator down the stairs that lead from the lobby of my condo to their truck in the back parking lot. The dresser they had to carry into the elevator and through the garage. It was just two guys so they did a lot of work. They were really nice and friendly. Both were uniformed and they were really respectful of my place. I also had them take two clocks that were sitting in the middle of my storage unit kind of taking up space. They don't take hazardous materials, so they weren't able to take two cans of four year old paint that were in my storage unit, but I was just happy with the clocks being gone. The name 1-800-GOT-JUNK is kind of misleading because they told me that they partner with Habitat for Humanity and the stuff that I gave them definitely isn't junk. I had tried and tried to get rid of the stuff on my own and calling this company was a last resort. I hear their commercials on the radio all the time so I know they're a good company. Even though it was more expensive than I anticipated, I'm happy with my free spaces! I've been trying to downsize since moving into my condo and those items were really getting in the way, I'd definitely recommend and use them again, if the need arises. I do not recommend using 1-800-GOT-JUNK, they use deceptive pricing practices. They quoted me $107 for the minimum load over text chat and I gave them many reference photos of the load size. At pickup, they charged me $287 for 1/8 load + tips for the workers. 1-800-GOT-JUNK gets around deceptive pricing and estimates by using phrasing like "for example" whenever discussing pricing. After a long back and forth with their customer service representative where I was able to give them photos of my entire text chat, they acknowledged that the price was misquoted from the outset, and offered to refund me 10%. When I replied that it was not acceptable and would not settle the dispute for me, they dropped off the email thread permanently. Their pricing is structured one way and presented another. "minimum load" is not anything less than 1/8 a truckload, as you might infer. For your reference, I am pasting their pricing structure below, but I highly recommend you do not use them and that you instead use someone local who openly and transparently publishes their pricing. Adding photos you can see how large a load cost this much. "we actually have thirteen price points for our removals starting with our minimum charge of $197 for anything take up less than 1/8 in the truck. We have used them many times over the years and have been pleased with their services. Prices have steadily increased over the years but you have to weigh it with the costs of doing it all your self and hauling multiple trips to the dump. Then doing multiple good will trips. It is very convenient to have someone come to your home. Just make clear instructions what you want gone, separate out your junk and make sure anything you don't want to go is any where near it. Most of the complaints seem to be about pricing and it's understandable for price quotes to be inaccurate. As they don't know until they get there and load it into the truck. Communication. For the most part communication is decent. However, I hate it when companies go strait to voice mail for their first call. Even though I had my phone quick to access. I called back but did not get an answer. No, my phone was not in dnd mode and was active to receive any incoming call. When you book a time slot it's a suggested time frame for arrival. Does not mean that they might get there in that time frame. They happily took our old furniture away as it is difficult to get rid of. Most donation places don't even want furniture these days. They were too big to break apart for the trash can. Glad to see it gone. Thank you. It really cleaned out the area. read more

I needed one sleeper sofa removed from the house. Though it was a small, two-seater, it was too heavy to move down two flights of stairs ourselves. I called another company and spoke to a pushy guy over the phone, who quoted me over $400. I called 1800GOTJUNK next and got a much nicer guy who quoted me $147. (And actually listened to me.) Sounded too good to be true! I booked for the following week. The day before my scheduled time, Alex called to confirm my appointment but also let me know that time slots had opened up if I wanted to reschedule for earlier. Even better! Alex was really nice and helpful over the phone. One hour later, Jamal called me to let me know the truck was on the way. The haulers were right on time, as promised. My quote for $147 didn't change and the couch was out the door within 20 mins. No fuss, no damage. Thankful for the great service. read more

They were willing to work with me on the quote by working with them on the pick up time. Service rep. was friendly and knowledgeble. Called to have them come out and remove items from my garage and basement last week. When the crew arrived I was quoted $1000 for a truckload which I agreed to. I was told that there was probably another load and a half which I did not blink at. Each time a crew would arrive I would be informed I had "one more trip". The crews were polite and efficient enough however today ( now 4 trips in) the crew says this again and I just lost it. I can understand misestimating by 1 load but by 3-4?! That is another story. I called the 1800 number to speak with a supervisor and was told they called 3 numbers and nobody was answering them but someone would call me back. Later that day, after the crew had left for the day a supervisor calls me and is apologetic for misunderstandings but it seems he considers everything normal/valid since they never gave me a written estimate. Mind you nobody ever offered me a written estimate! I later received a text from the supervisor saying he got my message from earlier and wanting to know what I needed, thinking it was about scheduling. I was honest and said I have no plans to do business with the company again. I feel it was a shady process to be lead on in this manner, thinking I was almost done. He again was apologetic and said that he would ensure his team was trained properly in the future. Meanwhile it seems like the burden of the fact they weren't to begin with should not fall on my shoulders. I made the mistake of simply trusting this company. I am out 4k and the job is still not done! The supervisor on the phone today said he was told probably another 1.5 more trips needed!!! I would steer others away from using this company. read more

Missed Opportunity - I've selected three stars because when we called in with our concern, the representative was professional, courteous, and the situation was dealt with (for the most part) within a couple of hours. So, the stars are for the representative on the phone not the two young men driving the truck and placing signs. KUDOS to the representative for her follow-through. Please note: If it were based on our interaction with her alone or if what happened after she did her part had been better, I'd given the local GOT-JUNK organization five stars. Placing signs is a well-worn and successful way to drum up business. Usually, you would ask for permission before placing a sign in front of a property. Even if it is on the parking strip. In Seattle property owners are responsible to maintain the parking strip, which means they spend time and money doing so. Anyway, the issue wasn't the planting of a sign it was that a 1-800-GOT-JUNK sign was placed in front of a couch that had been abandoned on the parking strip just an hour or so before. It was the poor judgement to take advantage of someone illegally dumping to make a potential profit. That couch was left in front of a non-profit organization that is working towards community betterment. When the two young men came back, what did they do? They moved the sign about 30 feet from the couch and placed another one across the street. We get it. Create visibility and create business. The better option would have been to place your signs and then take away the couch. Sure, it might have cost you something at the dump or recycling center, but the sense of goodwill you could have created by doing this service would have benefited you in ways you won't get with a 1-800-GOT-JUNK sign. read more

They didn't show up. After calling to say they were running late and would arrive 1 hour to 1.5 hours after the original appointment, I rearranged my schedule to accommodate their unexpected delay. But then, 1.5 hours passed and they still didn't show up. I called them again to see if they were coming, no answer. I set aside 3.5 hours for these guys, an entire morning on a work day, and they just didn't show up and couldn't be contacted. Finally, with the morning gone and all of my favors called-in to accommodate these guys, I ran out of time. I texted them to say to cancel the appointment. Then, 5 hours after the start of our original appointment, I finally get an acknowledgment back. Just no respect for other people's time! Angel's Junk Removal is never like this. I called them at 11, and they were able to schedule a free estimate and possible pickup that day at 3. They called 30 minutes before to confirm and arrived on time. Chris and Anthony were professional and fast. They gave me an estimate and answered my questions without pressure. Bottom line, they loaded up an entire truck load of what we asked at a decent price and were in and out with a truck load (in 90 degree heat) in 15 minutes. Awesome! They called a few hours before to let me know that they were ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend being at home an hour before your scheduled time in case this happens. How did they do? Frankly: abysmally. I was told on the phone and I wrote it down as I was told that max cost was $552. Anywhere from $162-$552. I was shocked when your workers pulled out the charge sheet that showed we would be having to pay over $800. Since we needed to get access to a water source that was buried under debris right away, we had them take away one truck full but we've hired another company to remove the rest.
