I would not use 1-800 got junk again. They loaded my things in a truck before telling me what it would cost---$700. for a small amount. They said they would try to donate the items to charity and not throw them away but they threw the things in the truck and either broke them or tore them. My biggest complaint is they did not tell me ahead of time what the service would cost. read more

Pricey, but worth it. This is not the sort of service where you call up some Billy-Bob in a broken-down leaky old pickup, and he shows up (if you're lucky) with a hangover, a dirty T-shirt, chaw in his lip, trampling your petunias, and leaving a trail of muck in his wake as he hauls your stuff away for $50. This is a class act. The haulers (Mike and Jarek) showed up on time in a clean, well-maintained truck. They were polite, neatly attired and friendly. We had not called ahead for an estimate, so the near $500 price tag for the haul-away we were given upon their initial assessment of the load size staggered us- we were hoping to pay $200 or less. But I found a deal through yelp to pay $50 for $100 on the service, and that took a little sting out of it. And there was the service itself; the fellows were quick, efficient workers, respectful of our time and property, and our neighbors' as well. We literally only needed to point, and they would take it away. Like a magic wand for clutter and debris! (Disclaimer: Magic Wand doesn't work on hazardous waste like old batteries, paint cans, poisons, or landlords.) Instead of a precious weekend day-off spent lifting and sweating in the dirt and sun, screwing around with rental trucks and stinky runs to the recycling center, I get two strong, well-mannered young men that turn a full-day of filthy hard labor into a quiet, relaxing Sunday springtime afternoon. That, my friends, is worth a few C-notes. Recommended! read more

Don't use these people. False starting bid then when they show up the price goes way up. The truck was already half full when they arrived. I was charged 400 bucks for a third load. Save your money and go to the transfer stations. Will never use again. read more

Avoid. These scammers will try to give you less than the agreed upon space and their emloyees don't feel bad at all jacking the price up on the spot as much as possible, while trying to act like they own the business and that dispatchers don't know what they are talking about. They will then leave some of the agreed upon materials to be dumped behind and keep you financially hostage. read more

I would give them 4 stars except that one of the people who showed up this morning wasn't wearing a mask, the other one was. They don't promise that they will wear one, and we stayed away from each other and were outside. Still, it seemed weird that 2 of us were wearing masks and one wasn't. They ride in the cab of the truck together, so they're going to pass the virus to each other eventually. This service is expensive. I got rid of about 3 cubic yards of metal junk, one piece probably weighed 300 lbs which is why I used their service. $250. Watching them get that thing into their truck was really scary. They didn't have the right equipment to do it safely. For that kind of money, I would hope they had better training and equipment. Luckily no one got hurt. read more

We had 3 couches that needed to be thrown out. Two were in a room with a tricky doorway. The crew arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They were super good about masks and gloves. Jackson and Phil were FANTASTIC! Jackson called the day before to introduce himself and to confirm my appointment and then again this morning to reconfirm his arrival time. These young men were prompt, friendly, and very courteous. Jackson reviewed the pricing with me so no surprises there. We had a large sectional and ottoman to remove from the living room, and several pieces of furniture in the garage. And of course a nice assortment of clothes, broken toys, and miscellaneous junk-- a truckload. All items were quickly removed from several different locations. When they were finished, Jackson even swept my garage and the outside--which was totally unexpected. Of course it would be nice to find someone to haul everything away for free-- but Good Luck with that! I thought that the service exceeded my expectations, and was worth the cost! read more

Scheduled an appointment and had them text me that they were late and wouldn't be coming until later. An hour after their newly scheduled time they text to reschedule for the next day. No show, no call for THAT appointment. Called their hotline and even corporate couldn't get ahold of the Seattle location. Just got an email saying they cancelled my appointment. Terrible experience and will tell everyone to use a local company instead. Something I should have done in the first place. read more

In addition to being an hour late (precious time especially during the holidays) this is a crazy expensive service in my opinion. I had one entertainment center to be removed. I was charged $350. It took them 5 minutes to load it. (By comparison, I received an estimate to ship a car from Seattle to LA. That two day (or more) white glove shipment, including pick up and drop off, was $700.) Furthermore, Got Junk said they would donate the piece and I don't even get the benefit of the tax deduction. read more

I decided to go with Got Junk for a pickup for work and what a huge mistake that was. After assuring my boss that GJ would be the company to go with for our disposables (unsure on what gave me that idea!) after our yearly cleaning, GJ failed to communicate clearly on how they would charge for their services. After getting hit with a huge balance (over $600 for a barely nothing), unfortunately, they got one of our employees to sign the invoice. When I called GJ to ask about their protocol, I was told that they first would get a "thumbs up" before loading their truck. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. It's actually even recorded on our surveillance camera. I was also told that someone from the management staff will return my call, but of course, no call two weeks later. Can't help but feeling scammed, prob should contact the BBB. read more

I nearly got T-boned at a three way stop by their employee that wasn't paying attention and went right after the car in front of him went. This occurred on 4/20 about 2:45pm at 15th Ave W and W Emerson St. Please hire safe drivers. read more

They completely missed their first appointment and were late for their rescheduled appointment. Quoted me $1000 for what they said was a full truck. When I questioned such a high price their response was that they were a high end junk removal company. I didn't know that a rich persons junk was more expensive to remove than middle class persons junk. Anyway I declined and hired someone else for half the price. read more

The worst experience. This company sold me on the idea that they carefully segregated the items into those that could be donated, recycled, and trashed. But this was a complete lie. Instead they took all of our carefully labeled items and dumped them together into the truck. Or perhaps I should say threw - because there was nothing gentle in their disposal. Everything was tossed off the front porch like it was trash. I heard glass break on perfectly good lamps. Toys in perfect condition were ruined. It was unreal. But the absolute worst part was when they tossed into the truck the two boxes that I specifically told the crew leader NOT to take and had pushed to the side. Of course they tossed them with the same lack of care as they did everything else. And one of the boxes contained sentimental mementos from my late father that I will never get back, including his WWII bronze star. This company is the absolute worst. Sadly, this is the last time I will use this service. I had used 1-800-GOT-JUNK on three or four previous occasions to clear out junk, and the company did a great job for the agreed upon price. However, this time, even though I was quite careful in describing the item we needed removed over the phone, I got an estimate of around $99, but when the drivers arrived they asked for $400. Quite a discrepancy! After I told them no, the price suddenly went down to $180. Very disappointed that this has become such a rip off. I'll definitely call someone else next time. read more

So I did a purge, and needed to get rid of tons of stuff including large leather sofa that was worn, 1 bedroom equivalent full of boxes and other random stuff. I was working while packing so did not get around to boxing everything up. They called ahead of coming 15 minutes. Showed up, they were friendly, looked at everything, and gave me a quote that a lot less that I expected. I had crap everywhere but I pointed at what wanted gone and they took it. Then I kept finding stuff to get rid of. They were so patient and nice about it. Took less than 45 min for everything. Plus am assure that they will recycle and donate what they can. I live alone so hiring a truck to donate myself would have been impossible. Definitely eased my stress. If I do another purge will definitely use again read more

After showing the gentleman what I was hoping to have hauled away, he said he figured it'd be "probably a full truck", which would cost $498. He kept taking cell phone calls throughout and a job that probably should have taken 90 minutes took twice that. He put something from my basement in the cab of the truck for himself (which, okay, I was throwing it away anyway, but it made me a little nervous because he did it without telling me, I just happened to be looking out the window). He was clearly running late for his next job, so tried to tell me he couldn't take away the patio furniture because "the truck is almost full". I told him that furniture was the biggest part of why I hired a junk service, as I had no means to carry something that big to the dump. He begrudgingly loaded it. When it came time to settle up, he tried to bill me $100 more than he quoted. I reminded him that he said it'd take no more than $500 for a full truck (I know now to get quotes in writing). He said he mistakenly told me the price of a full truck from five years ago. He offered to unload some of the items on the truck in order to bring the amount back down to closer to $500 (!?!). Ultimately, he charged me $500 for the load but was generally defensive and unpleasant when he realized I wasn't going to just roll over and take his poor service and bad quote. He had to hand write my credit card number down because "the satellite was down" (?) so now I anxiously watch my bank account to make sure that the correct amount comes out. Scheduled for 3-5PM on a Sunday. On Sunday they call at 8:30AM asking if they can come now. We say "no we aren't available until the afternoon". They call again at 9:30 asking to come now. Again we say no. They don't like that answer and try to persuade us that we should (it won't take long, etc). Still we say no. I don't get many chances to sleep in, so being woken up twice on a Sunday is annoying, especially after we said no the first time. I can't comment on the service because we cancelled due to the second call. We already said we can't move the appointment, so don't call again to convince us we can. read more

I needed to get a bunch of packing materials cleared out of my garage and I've seen 1-800-GOT-JUNK around. I checked online and they had an easy-to-use scheduling system. I figured "why not?" Mistake #1: I didn't check Yelp first. Mistake #2: I didn't get a price quote in advance. Mistake #3: I didn't say "no thanks" when they showed up and told me it'd cost about $400. They were prompt-ish (arrived at the outside of the promised time frame) and they were fast (took them about ten minutes). However, for the price I wish I had taken a couple loads to the transfer station myself. read more

I recommend looking elsewhere. I unfortunately ended up paying too much and spending too much time dealing with this company. I had some old construction material I needed to get rid of. On the phone I was told they charge by the truckload and was given some pricing levels. We discussed how heavy items are sometimes charged at a higher rate but typically I would just get bumped up by about $50. Onsite I learned that the minimum charge for heavy items was actually about $250 . The phone rep clearly needs to be more upfront about these charges. At least tell me what the minimum charge is for heavy items. I felt deceived by the phone rep, who only seemed interested in getting my appointment booked and even pressured me to book it the same day when I wasn't ready to do that. I had to get this junk removed asap by the time they were onsite and I didn't have any option but to pay them. In addition the phone rep promised that the truck would bring a ladder to get some items in high places. I asked if I should call back to confirm this, he said no he'd take care of it. Sure enough the truck showed up without a ladder. This caused us to have to schedule another time for the truck to come by. I would try another company for junk removal. 1800 Got Junk was a waste of my time and money. read more

I've used 1-800-Got Junk twice and both times have been more than satisfied with their service. I think it's cost prohibitive if you only have a small load of crap to get rid of - but if you have a bunch of things, like mattresses, old furniture, construction waste, carpet - it's well worth it. Quick service, they asked to and came 3 hours early. Much appreciated. Price was ok. They wanted to charge an extra $100 to haul away a 2ft x 3 ft x 1 inch slab of concrete and the same volume of crushed concrete. I get it, but for a company that claims they charge on volume not weight it would've accounted for $300 to haul away just over a pick-up tricks worth of crap. I think this was more company policy than the on-site team. Although their tip would've definitely been beefier if they had been more accommodating now I have to find another way of finishing the job I needed them for. Ultimately they were friendly, punctual, and efficient. I would use them again, but not for smaller loads. I would only recommend if you need a small dump truck. read more

Called 1-800 Got Junk last minute to see if they could haul away a three seat couch and overstuffed love seat. As a matter of fact I needed these two pieces of furniture gone the very next day. Luckily I was able to get an appointment on my desired day! I was told they would arrive between 11:30 and 1:00. At 10:30 they called and said they would arrive at 11:30. Then at around 11 I received a text saying they would be late (traffic) and arrive at noon. I appreciated the status updates and met them right at noon. The two guys who hauled my furniture were very friendly and professional. I paid $153, a bit less than what I was quoted over the phone. Perhaps a bit pricey, but they were a lifesaver because I needed that furniture removed ASAP. There was also no way I wanted to haul that giant couch down the millions of stairs in my very urban and compact Lake Union apartment. I just hope my furniture ended up being donated! It was sad to see the pieces go, but I had no use for them in my new place. So thanks 1-800 Got Junk! read more

I was quoted a higher price on the phone, which was still reasonable to us, since we didn't want to have to lug our heavy junk and donation items ourselves and worry about our backs or the weight of getting it to the junkyard. I found an online coupon for $25 off, but they offered $10 off on the phone, When they came in person, they took $35 off our total. We hurried to get everything in one place in the garage to make it easier for them to take away. Well they called half an hour before arrival, as promised and they came at the early end of the timeframe mentioned to us, so we didn't have to wait around at all. And we just kept working on our pile in the meantime. Great motivation to donate and clean out junk. When I booked the appointment I didn't even have our pile ready. The best thing you can do if you are a procrastinator like I am, is book the appt, estimate how much stuff you think you will have and then work on your pile in the garage, have everyone dump what they don't want anymore. It ended up being pretty fun and I now park both cars in our garage and am not walking in the rain anymore. It's wonderful. The guys were kind and showed up with friendly personalities and were kind to talk to. I would call them again in a heartbeat once we have another handful of things to get rid of. I scheduled it all online and called to confirm as they cannot give you a final price without seeing what you have, but they have a satisfaction guarantee, if you don't like the price when they show up you can send them away. 5 stars for the 2 guys who came in the truck to haul the stuff away. They called before they got here, were cheerful about doing their work, even though some of the stuff had been outside and was dirty and covered in slime. They were fast, helpful, and friendly. The price was exactly what I was quoted on the phone, because they let me know when I got close to the cut off point. Why only 4 stars? They're pretty expensive for what they do. It was worth it this one time because I'm in a hurry to get my house cleaned out so I can put it on the market, but in the future, time permitting, I'd shop around for a better price. I will say though, you get what you pay for. And I got great service. read more

Pretty good service. However, today they were 30 minutes late. I sort of wish I could have gotten a discount for that alone. They did give me $30 discount bucks in the future. It ended up being like $600 for an hour job, which I thought was very pricey, but they worked very fast. They did a great job moving some of our old furniture when we moved. They were QUICK! It would have taken a Uhaul (and time to get and return said Uhaul), plus 3 men to move everything out of our place. And of course, if friends helped move everything I would have bought pizza and beer. All said and done, Got Junk was cheaper than renting a truck and buying pizza and beer for friends. I was also impressed with how quick and easy it was to schedule. I just called 1800GOTJUNK (imagine that?), and got an appointment next day. I had a 2 hour delivery window and they called 30 minutes prior to the window to tell me exactly when they'd be there, and they were exactly on time. I suppose my ONLY reason for the lack of star is that they hadn't noted anywhere that I had a Yelp deal. They used it willingly but it took a second to write it all down. I feel this could have been done over the phone when I scheduled. But it all worked out! read more

The customer service we received was awesome! The movers (Alex and Justin) were very communicative about their timeline to come pick things up. They were very respectful of social distancing and asked us if we were comfortable before approaching us/having us hold the phone to pay, and wore appropriate PPE. 10/10 would recommend! read more
