I am extremely disappointed with my recent patio door purchase & installation from Hanson's. The door I received was supposed to be brand new, yet it arrived looking used, with multiple scuffs and visible damage on the frame. Hanson's solution was to cover the damage with touch-up paint, which is completely unacceptable for a product sold as new. Very poor quality control and an even worse response to the issue. Shameful. Our experience with Hanson's has been extremely disappointing and remains unresolved. During the reroofing of our home, Hanson's subcontractors removed the roof down to the rafters. During this process, rain entered the home while tarps with holes were being used for protection. Approximately three inches of rain came into the structure, causing extensive water damage throughout our home and personal property. Following the incident, Hanson's representatives left the property and advised us to contact our homeowner's insurance. As homeowners, we expected the situation to be addressed directly and professionally given the extent of the damage that occurred during the roofing project. Since that time, we have spent the past nine months attempting to communicate and seek resolution. We have reached out multiple times, including attempts to communicate with management, yet the matter remains unresolved. The damage caused significant disruption to our lives and home. Beyond the physical loss, the process has involved ongoing stress, delays, and repeated attempts to obtain meaningful communication and accountability. Hanson's has publicly asked us to contact them, however contact has already been made numerous times without resolution. At this point, public requests to "reach out" are frustrating when emails and prior communications have not been adequately addressed. We continue to deal with major damage and $74,762.46 in uncovered losses. We are sharing this review so others understand our experience and in the hope that Hanson's will respond to the emails already sent and work toward a direct and meaningful resolution. read more

Hansons service department sucks. I bought $12,000 in replacement windows 9 years ago. One of the window's began fogging up a couple years ago. It is under lifetime warranty. I called Hansons several times over the past two weeks with no response. I filled out the online service request twice with pictures of the window and never got a phone call. I only got a call this morning after I left a message that my next move was to contact the better business bureau. They "promised" I would get a call from their service department Monday. I had the number of the original salesman who sold me the windows in 2017, so I called him and he told me that he had left Hansons after Brian Elias sold the company. He said since the company was sold, Hansons has been more interested in sales than service. He was not surprised with my complaint. I have lost all faith in a once great company. Hanson is terrible, run by a terrible man. In truth so bad that work done, and the work not done still rankles me 30 years later. The first experience was my husband contracting them and had done terrible work. That next year we were married, he says honey get a company to get a window fixed..without knowing about his previous Hanson experience. I had shower install last summer. the salesman messed the order up. it took 3 visits for the installer to complete the job because during the first visit they destroyed my ceiling. now less than 1 year one of the doors does not close all the way. Very small siding project and my water spigot was adjusted, and now leaks, my outdoor electric outlet is jacked up, cheap framing, and covers were put around them, there are terrible cuts in the siding where they went around things instead of behind them. need to now call a plumber and electrician to get my existing water and electrical functional again. Don't fall for the 60% off installation because there is no 60% off. Their prices are no different than those w/out discounts on installation. Worst company ever. Don't hire them for any work on your house unless you like crappy results and broken porch railings not to mention thieving contactors they hire. Hired them to replace my roof, facia boards and metal covering. Install crew had no idea of the complete job to be done. Roof was done without the facia boards being done first then without the job being completed I was getting several calls demanding payment.they were supposed to return to do the facia boards and covering which they didn't until I personally went into the holt office complaining, job got scheduled then they never showed up. 3 days of messages saying they were coming to finish the facia boards and covering and never showed up till the last day. I returned home to find the job done but done poorly leaving exposed wood crappy patches and damage to railings and eve troffs. Then I investigate further to find out the faciaboards weren't even replaced, they installed new facia covering but left the old rotted facia boards and tried to cover it up and stole the facia boards I had sitting in my driveway. Contacted the manager Scott Lamacchia about the poor work done and facia boards not being replaced at the holt Michigan location, he said he would come out and look and take pictures. A week now and no show or calls from him. I called corporate to talk with a manager and the operator said she was in a meeting and would call me back. Well surprise surprise no call back from her either and it's been a week. Bottom line is they hire sub contractors that employee crack heads that aren't competent to do the job correctly and damage things and steal from you but demand payment for a job done crappy and not complete. I'm currently getting other estimates to fix the issues that couldn't be done right from Hanson's but in my opinion and talking with other reputable companies for the job to be done right the roof needs to be tore off to do the the facia boards and metal covering correctly before the shingles ECT are installed.. to anyone out there looking for work to be done on your house stay far away from this incompetent thieving company. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches for anyone reading this from Hanson's anyone from your company or crack head stealing contractors come onto my property without myself being here you are trespassing and will get the police called on you from my neighbors and dealt with. I just had my window installed by Hanson 800 when the installers came they were somewhat abrupt, rude obnoxious. The job they did left me extremely disappointed. They left my inside wall undone unfinished, and I'll have to hire somebody to come back in and smooth out the wall around the installation of the window. The vinyl has open scenes where moisture can get in. I do not I do not recommend using Hanson's 800 for any of their services. read more

As others have said, I could leave a 0 rating I would! This 30 year exlcusive warranty on parts and labor and material isn't worth the paper it's written on! Yes we're 20 years in on the installation but this high pressure christian saleman (becuase we had a cross on the wall) said we were covered for everything for a full 30 years! well guess what?? NOPE! if you can see the discoloration in the picture then you can imagine how bad the house looks! they said we have to pay $99.00 for someone to just come out and look at it and discoloration probably isn't covered. If a Nova representative shows up to sell you siding, tell them to leave! They will tie up four hours of your day. They will tell you the complete opposite of what to expect. This was a very expensive purchase. I thought going with a big-name company would be the best bet! Wow, was I wrong. I have many unhappy neighbors. They ripped the siding off, letting nails fly, and the large magnet roller was not on-site. They covered my dryer vent. They worked without a dumpster for only three hours the first day and put all the old siding on my neighbors' property! They left ladders lying in the grass in my small backyard, and my dog would not go on the grass. I spent 45 minutes cleaning up every time they left. There was no good communication! I am very disappointed and know I should have shopped around! From start to finish, it was an absolute nightmare! The salesman left multiple things off our work order that my husband had discussed with him. My husband caught all but one piece of wood that he had mentioned quite a few times to him. When it came time to replace the roof my husband asked about the piece of wood and the foreman said that the gutter installers would replace it when they came out. The gutter installers said the roofers should have done it. My husband called the office and spoke to a woman there who told him it wasn't on the contract and he repeated to her (calmly and respectfully) a few times that he had told their estimator a number of times that that was a major concern. The business owner (Brian Elias) came through the office and grabbed the phone out of her hand and started yelling at my husband. My husband told him "my wife was right there, you can ask her". Brian Elias then called both of us liars, insisted on putting his foreman on the phone, and then screaming at him told him to go to Home Depot and get that F**king piece of wood and get it on there. Mind you this was a small piece of wood that wedged between the two different levels of roof that my husband estimated would probably only cost about $13! This business owner had the audacity to call us both liars, screamed so loud at his foreman we could easily overhear his orders, all over a small piece of wood that HIS estimator failed to add to the contract. I would NEVER give this man ANY business again. I wouldnt let him re-roof my doghouse! Cant believe how rude he was to us and unappreciative of a cash paying customer. So we thought everything was fine with our shower install, we waited the 24hrs as directed. Turned the water on and the drain and pipes are pouring water into our basement. Something is not right.. they were in a hurry to complete the job by 5.. which they didn't finish until almost 7.. caulking is mediocre. Get approved for loan through their financing. Waiting call to set up service. On Tuesday get call from regional manager telling me they cancelled my roof replacement due to "mathematical error in pricing and measurement". I never post negative reviews, and hate getting in the headspace to do so.  However, I post this as a cautionary warning to anybody considering using Hansons for gutters.  And I also post this with the faintest glimmer of hope that Hansons reads this stuff and will take action. I purchased gutters from Hansons for a previous home.  The service and results more than met my expectations, and I didn't hesitate to reach out to them to install gutters on my new home.  Short version of events: -Gutters were installed in late August 2021.  One of the installers was half-naked and reeked of marijuana. -Within days of install, the gutters were leaking tremendously.  A downspout was installed directly over the basement window well, and when the downspout failed spectacularly, the basement flooded through the window well. -I made my concerns abundantly clear to Hansons, time and time again.  Multiple phone calls, videos and photos of water gushing all over the place.  This continued for MONTHS.  Hansons exhibited ZERO sense of urgency, and my project manager simply stopped responding to my calls/texts/emails.  The installers (including the half-naked marijuana guy, who reeked every single time) showed up half a dozen times to "fix" the problems, but didn't actually do anything while onsite. -In late Fall 2021, a 35-year Hansons employee came to diagnose the situation.  He conceded that that the gutters were installed incorrectly, and concluded that everything needed to be completely reinstalled. It's now May 2022, nearly 9 months since I first reported an issue with the gutters.  The reinstallation has been scheduled, cancelled, rescheduled and cancelled again HALF A DOZEN TIMES.  I simply receive text messages stating that the appointment was cancelled (and it has not once been because of "weather conditions"), and never receive any follow-up about next steps, etc.  In fact, it's now been a week since the most recent cancellation (a text stating "crew will not be onsite tomorrow, still on prior job"), and I have yet to hear a peep from Hansons.  After 9 months, shouldn't I be a priority? A rainy spring is upon us, and both my house and property are taking a hit from the awful "solution" that Hansons provided. My house has a massive amount of roof, requiring a massive amount of gutters.  This job cost A LOT of money, and the results aren't worth a penny.  I'll gladly update this review if/when Hansons does the right thing, but I'm not holding my breath. read more

I come home from work to a group on my roof doing their thing, but one person had a tether on his ankle and another with barely any teeth. Immediatly had me concerned about the quality of service i would be getting. The next day, we notice a big dip in our roof near the front entrance of our house. We called to complain multiple times. I'm in my house now for 20 years so will be looking for windows soon, but after my daughter's experience I know I will not be using Hansons. She was told her windows would come in 4-6 weeks, they came in 8. Finally the install....BUT....the main window was cracked, a hole in one screen, white window frames when they ordered tan, half painted wood trim framing on the largest front window, but was told it's their responsibility to finish painting them. Since two independent contractors installed...(not even a Hanson tee shirt like in their pictures) they said they could not do anything about it. Her calls to customer service do not coincide with what the salesperson promised. Today, four weeks later, they installed the replacement for the cracked window.....it is scratched....calls to customer service have gone unanswered so far. They came in with 4 inches of frame and barely any glass and replaced 3 windows. They came in and installed whatever they wanted and basically said because we signed that it's in the contract. This company should be absolutely ashamed of the services they provide. They are AWFUL and cause HARM to people that hire them. I hired them to replace my roof which was done improperly. This lead to flooding in my mud room. Not only did it take them years to come and fix the roof they improperly installed, but there was tons of back and forth for two years before they finally came to repair the roof and then it took them forever to actually repair it correctly. THEN, after all of this terrible suffering and inconvenience, the damage they caused to my mudroom has still not been repaired despite many conversations, Hanson's has still not provided any solutions for the damage they've caused. They want me to do an insurance claim which is CRIMINAL because they caused the damage and should be entirely responsible for fixing it. Making an insurance claim would cause my insurance to immediately increase and still be potentially declined. This is criminal for them to expect me to fix damage that was caused by their negligence. Do not hire this company for anything EVER. If Hanson's doesn't fix my mud room, I will unfortunately have to report them to the consumer financial protection bureau. I had been waiting for weeks for my roofing estimate after downloading their app taking pictures of my house for accurate measurements and sending this all back to them. One of my windows got damaged and I called last April to have it serviced. A gentleman came out and told me it would take a bit longer due to the pandemic. I have been waiting for a year now. The experience has been awful. The proposed monthly payment to fix up my garage roof is nearly twice what the salesman put in writing. I can't go over my budget, which I talked about during the appointment. I was careful to review materials, labor, financing, everything. I was told it wasn't a problem. Then, they sent me sub contractors to complete the installation, which has not been done correctly. for example, many metal screws were added to the let to windows that are not part of the design and look ugly, the team did damage my bathroom door, screen door bent and damaged, sub contractors are like Craiglist handyman with no badge or sign on the truck........ I gently called 1800Hanson and asked for a quality inspection. it looks like all they care about is the payment and not the quality of their product. Hanson's had a very good siding contractor come and install my siding. Where they fell down was their sales people and office people are dishonest and just get the job sold. They DO NOT come out to make sure the job is starting off the way it should. They DO NOT make sure everyone knows what what sold and what was agreed upon. They just take the money and run without making sure the customer is getting what they paid for. They sent a list of parts for our review like were construction people and should know what their job is. I suppose we were supposed to be the checkers for their erred business process. We bought gutters along with our siding job. We looked at gutter samples at our dining room table with the sales guy. We discussed where the down spouts were currently and how I wanted to eliminate and move a couple locations. I said I wanted gutter guards on everything as I am getting older and climbing up on a two story roof 5 or 6 times a year was not going to safe in the future. We discussed how I had 5" gutters and I wanted to go with 6" gutters. He walked around the house looking at the current gutters. As he was finalizing the sale he deleted the gutters from the contract ands never told us. We signed the contract while never leaving the table in front of him and he screwed us right in front of our faces. They Demo'd our old functional gutters. On each occasion when the roofer came we asked about the gutters. They said they would come at the end because the roofers didn't do gutters. When the Siders came we were asked if they wanted the gutters removed because it would make their job easier. We said sure we are getting new gutters from Hanson's and they they should probably take them down if they are in their way. So they took them down and threw them out. "Down spouts and all." Then when the siders were done, we got a call from Hanson's telling since we said take the gutters down, It wasn't their fault and we could go pound sand. It was their mistake but they made it sound like it was our mistake because no one at Hanson's bothered to make sure what they sold us at our dining room table was what they were delivering. Once a guy came by in a van and asked how it was going. I said the siders were top notch doing a great job. I mentioned the gutters at the end and he said nothing. Probably just a stop along some other sales route for him so he really didn't know what was going on either. Now I have a house with no gutters or down spouts. The rain is eroding the grade next to my house. I have to worry about water damage to my basement and Hanson's is laughing all the way to the bank. I feel abused. read more

Beware, buyers. I wanted to share my thoughts on this company, as I have wasted 3 months with full of stress and disappointments, and finally it ended FAILED minutes ago. Not professional, but pushy sales makes promises that they in no way can keep. and after the long waiting, they ordered materials that I never ordered, and they said the materials I ordered is not available. Canceled the project. In April, I first contacted Hansons to upgrade my house with sidings and trims w/ gutter replacement. I signed after 3 hour long presentation and price negotiation. After 2 weeks from the contract signing, I was told the color selection on the contract is not available. I had to change the colors, but after another 2 weeks, the 2nd color selection was not available again. I had to CANCEL the PROJECT (for the 1st time). In a week, I am getting another call from the company, saying they have another selection of colors. This new sales person visits me again with the canceled contract on hand to modify. I again put my trust in Hanson, and sign for another contract with the colors. 10 days after the signing, I get another call from the sales person, saying the colors are not available with the siding type that I signed (Seriously!!). SO I had to change the siding type again. and after that, just long waiting. no one to contact to ask the status. After 12 weeks (promised lead time was 8~10 weeks), I suddenly got a call from the Hansons scheduling team, saying they are going to start installation on the following day. One day notice after more that 3 months of waiting was surprise, but I wanted to complete the job. I found the materials were already delivered and located on my driveway. But here comes another problem. The siding type was not the one that I originally ordered, one that I had to change, one that on the contract. So I had to cancel the installation right away, and tried to reach out to the manager, LEO. The manager told me, "im sorry, but the siding type you selected is not available." (Seriously 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Is that why they ordered any available sidings to install? Is this what ended up after 3 months of waiting? so the 2nd cancellation of the project just happened. Over 4 months, the experience I had with this company was a continuous nightmare. Communicating with the rude staffs, promises that they cannot keep, unprofessionally handled contract updates (which caused this failure eventually),,,,,,, just wasted my summer season and chance to upgrade my house this year. Wallside is better than Hanson's but still overpriced. I ended up going with Crown windows, their showroom is in Davison. Quality product for the best price. I have 61 windows. About $410 per window. Stay far away from Hansons. We had them come out and give a quote for a new roof. (16 Squares) $20,060 to start but after an hour and a half of trying to hard sell us it was down to $12,300. I told him even if I had a stack on money sitting on the table I would not make a derision the same day. "60% of our customers do" Since we did not take the offer that night, he left us a paper that said the deal for $15k was good for 2 weeks. While we liked the product, it was not worth double the price at $12,000. Sales guy had to go to his car a number of times, call the boss to get us a better deal. Offered to use this gift card on us that he can only use 4 times a year.
