The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

Instead of replacing all the windows around the house like all the window selling people are telling us, Rob offered to fix the windows for a much better pricing. We are so happy with the result we asked them to remodel our three bathrooms. Again, their quote was better than the other 8 companies we compared with. Their timing and flexibility was better as well! Throughout the process of bathroom remodeling, they were extremely helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. From picking tiles and helping us with the pickup (usually pretty expensive), to going out of their ways to seal cracks for us on the wall and hanging paintings for my mom. They even offered to walk my dog when they were working with us. They are excellent at what they do. See images for the before and after of the bathrooms. We love our 3 bathrooms now. They were able to accommodate everything we asked them too. Including changing old electric outlets, adding a shower in the guest bathroom, and switching the vent to a heated vent. They even helped to fix my kitchen sink that a plumber failed after trying for 3 days! They are also honest people. I did notice a cracked window and Rob immediately ordered a new one and covered the cost. So they do honor their warranty on their work. Overall, would highly recommend them for their excellent work, very fair pricing, and being such good nature people!

A major beam in our sun room was screwed in incorrectly by Roberts people. The beam fell from the ceiling hitting another contractor. Thank god the contractor wasn't injured.

It took about 2 months between signing the contract and paying our deposit (one-third) before they started the project. Once they started it took 11 days to finish. Brian and the rest of the installation crew did a good job. They worked through the rain and cleaned up every day before they left. Every house project involves collateral damage and in this case it was minimal. They did several extra things that cheaper companies don't do. We were pleased with the job and have received several compliments from neighbors and friends.

We looked to Hanson again for a siding quote, since having a great experience purchasing all new…read morewindows, 10 years ago after we bought our fixer-upper of a house. This time was for siding, gutters with guards, trim, and shutters. The windows are still perfect, no need to change those. We signed for the work in April. Our ability to be flexible with timing saved us a bunch on the bottom line and the work started July 23rd. The siding was supposed to take up to two weeks, however, they were done in a week. My husband was super happy and impressed with the family-crew contracted to do the job. Really nice guys, he said. I never saw them, as we didn't need to be home for them to do the work. It was great! They did all the tear out in one day, worked with us to get a new window in before they started siding that end of the house, and cleaned up after themselves (except for a few cigarette butts). They left their tools and supplies there, of course, and didn't work on the weekends, which I didn't mind, as we enjoyed a peaceful weekend. We have a large house and they were done in half the time - major props. After installation, we discovered the lighting plates were ill-sized to the base of our new exterior lights we purchased for the front, back and garage doors. It is $140 for the replacement sizes and for them to come back out and reinstall, but worth it for those little details that set off the look of our house. I can't believe the before and after pics. My neighbors are complimenting us when they walk by and see us outside. We have the corner lot at the head of the street, so having nice siding and curb appeal does wonders for the market value in the neighborhood. The next day 2/22/19 he said he emailed it, but said he was having issues with his computer/internet so not sure if I got it. I said I didn't. Later that day he said he'll send it, but I said, its the weekend and I wanted him to just relax since its the weekend and I said send it Monday 2/25/19 . Late Monday I texted and I said still no email. He said it shows sent on his end, but he'll be in the office at 8pm and we'll straighten it out. NO response since that monday. I texted on tuesday the next day and said still no quote. It's now Wednesday 2/27/19 and still NO quote and NO communication since Monday. Why email it when you can just write up on the spot like other contractors? Wasted my time waiting!!
