Peking has quite the positive reviews overall so we decided to try them out by doing pick-up. It's so refreshing living in a town that everything is opened past 8pm. Our go-to Chinese restaurant back in NC closed at 7pm, so this was a nice treat. My husband went inside to get our order, which was made very quickly. The building definitely looks on the older side and parking is only one way, which was confusing at first. I ordered the pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and wonton soup for myself and my husband ordered chow mein, lo mein, and we shared beef with broccoli, something else I've been craving. The food in general was okay, some outstanding more than others. His lo mein was delicious and my egg drop soup was honestly the BEST egg drop soup I have ever had. It was more broth-y than the standard Chinese restaurant's version and it had a few carrot strips and green onions in it. The pork fried rice was probably the biggest let down. There were no veggies in it and have very little flavor. The wonton soup's broth was nice but the wontons themselves were borderline flavorless. It was very hit or miss with everything we ordered. My husband and I have both been having stomach cramps the past two days since ordering here, both day of and from leftovers. It's unfortunate but we will have to continue to look for our next go-to Chinese restaurant.

The restaurant is large but the buffet itself is very small. However, the food here is DELICIOUS. I honestly had low expectations due to the poor reviews but Xiao's proved me wrong. All of the food was hot and cooked perfectly, the sushi was cold and surprisingly good for a buffet. When we first arrived, the food was slim pickin's but by our second go-around, the buffet was filled to the brim and fresh. I enjoyed all of what I had except for the butter mushrooms and the honey chicken (it was overcooked). The champagne chicken was amazing and definitely one of my favorite dishes served. I also favored their chicken on a stick, too. The egg drop and wonton soup were nice. The service here is wonderful. Our waitress filled the cups three times before they were ever empty. Our used plates were promptly picked up, too. Our waitress was friendly and hard working. My husband and I came in expecting a low-star experience but we were truly blown away. China Moon is tucked in a corner of a small shopping plaza and is easily missed because it is hidden. There's plenty of parking. Our order was ready within 15 minutes and sure enough, was waiting for us when we arrived. The employee was nice and offered any sauces to go with it. Our food was hot and the order was correct. The food was really good! It's been awhile since we had decent Chinese food. The only two things I wasn't crazy about were the soups (nearly flavorless even with soy sauce) and the fried rice (also flavorless). Otherwise, the actual meals were very good and everything was cooked properly. I especially favored the chicken with mushrooms. If we can't find something closer to us, China Moon is going to be our new place. The 15 minute drive is worth it for affordable and comforting food.
