We ordered fried dumpling, wonton soup, egg drop wonton mix soup, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Vegetable Chow Mein, Beef and Broccoli, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. It wasn't quite ready upon pickup but we did order a lot. Everything was in the bag except they forgot the chow mein noodles, so it was just the brothy vegetables for that meal. The restaurant is very much what I remember in the 90's. The menu with pictures on the wall have lost their color, there are a few tables and chairs inside, and almost zero decor. It's nostalgic; all they need are almond cookies (where are the almond cookies around here?!) The food was delicious and gave us exactly what we were looking for...comfort. The fried dumplings were phenomenal and I'd honestly stop by just for those. China One is Americanized Chinese food, of course, but it's very good! The fried rice is subpar and needs seasoning, something all of the Chinese restaurants we've been to here in TN so far, have in common. If we don't find our go-to Chinese place, we are more than satisfied with China One being it!

I tried to call them today, just to let them know (I'm not mad, just wanted to keep others from getting sick) and she hung up on me the first time and then just kept saying No! no! no! NO! when I called the second time. Tried to tell her we weren't mad, just didn't want others sick and that they need to check on whatever chicken they use for their teriyaki chicken and again she just kept saying no and then hung up on me again. So, consumer beware, they clearly don't care about the customers well being.

I enjoyed all of what I had except for the butter mushrooms and the honey chicken (it was overcooked). The champagne chicken was amazing and definitely one of my favorite dishes served. We have AI, self-driving cars, phones that can translate languages in real time, and refrigerators that can tell us when we're out of milk. But Town Square Social apparently has a computer system that says: 10:29: "Would you like breakfast?" 10:30: "Absolutely not." 10:31: "Can I order lunch?" 10:31: "Don't get crazy." 11:00: "Okay, now you may eat." Again, I LOVE this place. The food is fantastic. This isn't a knock on the staff or the restaurant itself. But somebody needs to fix this stupid system. If I sit down at 10:22 and decide at 10:42 that I want lunch, I feel like we should have evolved enough as a society to make that happen. Service was good throughout our visit -- attentive without being overbearing -- and all of the food came out fresh and hot. We started with the fried mozzarella sticks, which were very good. The appetizer includes four cheese sticks deep fried and sprinkled with fresh herbs and Parmesan cheese, served with a flavorful marinara sauce. A solid start to the meal. For our entrées, we ordered the chicken fajitas and the Cowboy Ribeye. The ribeye certainly makes an impression -- it comes out literally flaming on a fajita-style iron plate over a bed of onions and peppers. The 14oz steak is well flavored and tasty. However, at $48, it's the most expensive item on the menu. While it's good, we're not completely convinced it justifies that price point. The chicken fajitas, on the other hand, are much more affordable at $13 and come with black beans, butter rice, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. The chicken itself was tender and cooked well, but it could have used more seasoning. The real stars of the plate were the sides -- the beans, rice, pico, and guacamole were so good you could easily consider ordering a vegetarian plate made up just of those. Overall, the meal was good, though not necessarily something you'd rave about or insist all your friends rush out to try immediately. That said, we genuinely want to see this restaurant succeed. The good service alone will likely bring us back to try a few other dishes and explore more of the menu.

I read the other reviews. I'm just wondering what happened to this place? The lady who is described as not being able to understand is no longer there. I assure you she never got my order wrong, and it was always ready when I arrived. She never asked my name or my phone number which I always thought odd, but the food was better then. I have eaten there three times since the change. Three disappointing times. I'm done. read more

Juliet, TN, looks much the same on the outside as many other take away places, but we couldn't be more wrong! This restaurant has, hands down, the BEST Asian cuisine we've had in the metro Nashville area. From portion size, to the thoughtful service, to the freshest dishes undoubtedly made with love- one is left feeling less like a customer and more like family. One thing that my wife and I couldn't wrap our heads around was why in the world all of Nashville isn't packing this place daily? All we could gather is that it is so unassuming that people don't even know what they have in their own backyard. Do yourself a favor; GO! Our server Lucy was very thoughtful and helpful to us. Food was spectacular. My other half and I are vegan and got hot and sour soup to start. We have searched the Nashville area endless for vegan hot and sour soup. We then got Spring rolls and tofu with vegetables for our entree. It was all delicious. I should also mention this place serves hot Jasmine tea, which not many Chinese places offer. Everything you could want from a traditional Chinese restaurant is offered here.
