Don't judge this book by its cover. China Moon is a great option for dinner on the go and it's easy on the wallet. The day after New Years, I was over cooking and cleaning a million pots and pans, so Chinese take-out to the rescue! We ordered a ton of food with the sesame chicken and the beef/veggie platter being the standouts. Each meal comes with a side of rice, so be-careful when ordering extra rice, because you might end up with 4 extra sides of rice like we did. Beyond plain white rice they offer chow mein, Lo mein and of course fried rice. The chicken chow mein was our choice and it was amazing! The portions here are huge and four plates of food could easily feed five-six adults. We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef, veggies and chow mein. With tip all of it was just over $50 and we had leftovers for a few days!

From the outside you wouldn't think to go here but they do have some great lunch specials and decent food. For a quick lunch nearby this place is pretty good. I probably wouldn't come for dinner but the lunches are a great value and a lot of food. Our favorites were the lo mein and chicken with mixed veggies. They are very fast when you call in a pick up order. Since Covid you can't eat inside, it is pick up only.

This is as fast as it gets! I like that you can see straight into the kitchen and they have great big menus for you to circle your order on if needed. (Yes, have a Swedish person ordering from a Chinese lady both struggling with how to pronounce stuff that might be needed) A lot of guests order ahead for pick up too. The place itself is not really nice, it actually looks like a real, real Chinese restaurant. Spartan, torn seats and simple chairs, so I just bring my stuff home. Service is extremely fast, chop, chop and it's all ready to go! I always have been given good food, always get everything I order and the portions are big too. I always ask for extra spicy, that still doesn't make it Nashville hot, but at least lift it a little.

I've posted about Chinese food places before, and while I still think Chinese food in Nashville has a long way to go, China Moon is the best of what we've got in Mt. Juliet. It is certainly not worth traveling to come, as it is mostly take out and not worth an extra trip, but for local take out it is passable! The fried rice is delicious. And the spare ribs are tasty. My husband gets the chicken dishes and they are good. We once picked up a very large order for my extended family, and they threw in some sodas for free. The party trays are not on the menu, but I posted a photo of the options and prices below. This is my go to take out cocínese spot, and I do go back often!

I love their moo guy pan a little spicy and a combo meal. It's really delicious and it lasts me for two meals.

China Moon is OUR go-to for Chinese takeout. The question in our house is, "Want Mai Fun tonight?"

A-maz-ing food. Every. Time. Consistently the best Chinese food we have ever had. The leftovers are literally fought over at our home.

The food is always good and you get plenty of it for the price. I get 2 meals out of one order and I eat a lot.

Description and mail menu says delivery. Called to make the order and no one delivers. Not even a single explanation.

The potatoes were noticeably undercooked, the corn was stale, and the egg had a strange rubbery texture. I didn't bother trying the sausage. The shrimp was tough, and the crab seemed old and lacked flavor despite the seasoning. Overall, the flavor felt more oil/butter-based than seasoned throughout the seafood, especially compared with similar seafood spots. Since everything comes pre-seasoned, there's also very little customization. My mom can't have salt or pepper and normally gets plain seafood with butter, but that wasn't an option here. The restaurant itself is clean and nice, but the food was not worth nearly $100 for two platters. I had considered trying this place before and noticed it was always empty. I should have trusted that first impression. The flavor is not bad for the seasoning but the food itself left a lot to be desired. I especially love it when simplicity and genuine passion is served, not just presentation. Anyway, to start off - this market, and it's a market, not quite a restaurant. When my friend and I stopped in, there was one table, four chairs. Since we were there late, we were able to sit and dine in. Sitting and eating there allowed us to chat with Kojo - the owner. Learning not just about the market but his history and his passion for what he does. Switching gears again - the market is in a huge shopping plaza. Lots of parking. And free. As for the food - see the pics. Dinner pics is mixed in with what was left in the market. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed the flavors of the dishes he made on the spot for us. As we were there late in the day, most of the popular dishes were sold out however, he made a few suggestions, even two that were off the menu and made it to order. When we were there, it was a one man operation. So he was also our host and server. If you couldn't tell - service was excellent. Chatting about food. About seafood. About the beginning of Gulf Port. And about life in general. This is one of those places, that if I lived there - I'd frequent the place just because of him. It's just too bad that me going there requires a plane ticket and a five or so hour flight. But, also know this - next time I fly into Nashville, I'll make my way to Hermitage and have more delicious, fresh seafood.

**April 2025: Saturday Evening Visit**…read more My friend and I wanted to eat somewhere in the Hermitage area since that's where we were staying and Gulf Port Seafood had really high ratings, which were 100% well deserved. I should preface this by saying that Gulf Port is a seafood market first and that they have one table (4 chairs) so you can dine-in - but space is limited. Kojo, the restaurant owner, has both raw and hot options for patrons to enjoy. We came pretty late on a Saturday so many of his popular items (gumbo and lobster roll) were sold out, but we decide to try his other offerings which were delicious. We ordered the 2 orders of Cajun Crawfish Roll (methinks $15?), Seafood Mac & Cheese (methinks $20?) and Shrimp and Grits ($20? maybe) and all were made to order and brought to our table in a timely manner. The Cajun Crawfish Rolls came out first (I guess one order is given two rolls) and we demolished it. The toasted bun had a nice char, but was fluffy on the inside and the cajun sauce gave the crawfish nice flavor. We devoured this and were really impressed with the item. Next the Seafood Mac and Cheese came our as well as the shrimp and grits. The Mac and Cheese had such a great blend of cheeses and the noodles were cooked al dente. The grits on the shrimp and grits were scrumptious - not mushy at all and the shrimp was cooked through. Everything tasted very comforting and the prices are very reasonable! Overall, this was definitely a highlight meal of my Southern States travels and the next time I'm back in Nashville I hope to try the gumbo and lobster roll!
