Sara is fantastic! She is wonderful at cut and color! Knows just what to do with my curly hair

I called in advanced to see if anyone in the salon knew how to cut 3c curly hair and they said yes. I wanted to add some volume to my hair as well as some long bangs. I showed some pictures of what I wanted and the hairdresser Sara said that she could do that. During the wash, they put conditioner all over my scalp but didn't rinse it out properly. When my hair dried, it felt greasy, and I ended up with dandruff, which I didn't have before. When it came to the bangs, I said I wanted them to reach my eyebrows. Instead of cutting them curly, she stretched the curls and cut at that length, which made them shrink way too short. Now they don't look like bangs at all. The haircut overall feels uneven, and I've had to braid or pin my hair just to feel okay going out. What's frustrating is that my friend also got a haircut here (with a different stylist), and hers came out amazing, which is why I came in the first place. I have attached a picture of what I wanted and what I ended up getting so you can see the comparison. I paid $80 dollars for this haircut and thinking back I shouldn't have paid anything. read more

Super clean and professional salon. I've been to several salons over the years but didn't love them enough to keep going back on the regular. All the stylists know what they're doing, they take detailed time with your highlights and color (3 hours!!). One of my friends has a job where she's on camera every day so she's discriminating about where to go for nails, lashes, skin, and hair and referred me to check out One Salon. I have Kylie do my cut and color, really love how natural and pretty she makes my hair color look. My hair is naturally dark brown, and like how she was able to make it lighter brown with dimension. Obsessed. Everything about this salon makes it the place that you want to trust in Salt Lake City. The staff is extremely communicative and customer-oriented. The salon building itself is chic and glam. Not to mention, their services are professional and top-quality. I've been a client of Steven's for awhile, minus a hiatus while I was living out of state. Now that I am living in Utah again, one of the first things I did was get myself an appointment for cut and color. It was so fun to step into his salon and see what they have created. It's a beautiful, open, bright space. The girl at the front desk was super kind and organized. Even during crazy Coronavirus times, the salon was comfortable and cool. Everyone was very respectful about wearing masks and keeping things clean and healthy. What I've always loved about Steven is that he doesn't rush and he is really thoughtful about what I want and what he thinks will look best. I am sure that all the other stylists there are just as skilled and talented. I couldn't recommend him or his salon more highly. read more

I had this salon recommended to me by a woman with super hair!! I dug into the biographies of the stylists on their website and decided to book with Kat. I liked her style and biography and just sort of thought it clicked with me. I also looked at her Instagram and thought that was great too. I only needed highlights (not a cut) and was pretty nervous since I'd been seeing the same person for years before relocating to Utah during the pandemic. Well I couldn't have been happier with both the vibe of the Salon and Kat's highlights on my dark blond hair. I just really liked how they turned out and she was super nice and friendly to work with. Everyone here was super nice and friendly, in fact. More than the friendliness aspect though, I'm just so happy with my how my hair turned out and feel lucky I found her. So glad I found Eliana at 1 Salon! Both her and Steven were so helpful after I had tried to dye my hair a green/blue color and decided it wasn't for me. At the first appointment they were unable to get the color completely out (I was a little disappointed), I called back the next day to see if I could come in again for a second appointment, Eliana called me back personally and scheduled a second appointment for me. I am from out of town and came in for a red carpet event where I needed a beautiful blow out and style. I did my research via yelp and found 1 Salon. Very friendly and they booked me quickly in with Denise. I brought two of my girlfriends to hang with me and we were all THOROUGHLY impressed with the hair knowledge, confidence and kindness everyone had. Not to mention they keep up with the newest styles, products and their salon has an incredibly cool vibe to it. Not pretentious at all but expect to pay a bit more than normal and rightfully so with these professionals. Denise knew right away what would look good with my hair type and face and we went for a modern L.A. Confidential glam look. Love love loved it!! I had so many compliments and she put a deep conditioner in my hair to make it silky smooth after some damage to it from coloring. I would definitely make this my Salon of choice if I moved to Utah and have Denise do my hair:). My girlfriend who came with me wanted to make an appointment with them right away too. I had an appointment scheduled with one of the hair stylists at this business. I had to reschedule twice because I had other obligations that took priority over a hair appointment. I gave the standard amount of time to reschedule an appointment (at least 24-48 hours notice). I received a phone call from a front desk employee at the salon who requested to take down my credit card information to hold my next appointment. I was busy and could not reasonably give her a credit card number at the time of the call so I requested to give her a call back because I was in the middle of something. As many adults do, I had other things come up that evening and forgot to call back the salon. Unfortunately, this was not taken well by the business co-owner, Steven Robertson. Steven seemed to take this as some kind of personal affront because he sent me a nasty text message two days later in which he falsely accused me of "brushing off" one of his employees during the aforementioned phone call and telling her that I "didn't have time for this". Steven claimed that I was not respectful of the salons time and told me to take my hair appointments elsewhere. He also accused me of dodging his phone calls and sending him to voicemail intentionally. Like many, I do not answer phone numbers I don't recognize. Never have I ever been so disrespected over a phone call that I simply forgot to return. Steven behaved extremely unprofessionally in his correspondence with me over something so miniscule. In addition, he proudly boasted of this correspondence on his Instagram story as if it was something to brag about. It is clear to me that this is not a salon I would have like to patronize anyways. I've attached the screenshots of his Instagram story, where he uses a sticker with the phrase "Bye Felicia!". I never meant to be rude or disrespectful to any member of this salon. However, it appears that if you do not return phone calls within Steven's timeframe, you've offended him in some way. What a shame. read more
