My family is new to this salon and I have to say we were excited to have a salon that offered multiple services that we enjoy. This isn't my first time having my hair done by Sherry as we have followed her as she has jumped around between several salons over the last few years, but it will be the last for me, my mother and my daughter, husband and any others I would have mentioned this salon to. Please see attached image of the result from my visit this week. Absolutely nothing close to what I've wanted or ever had done. Pretty frustrating as we all know how it feels to have something go wrong with our hair as it is such a big part of our looks. But I also know that accidents and mistakes happen. But let me also include the fact that mid appointment I was told my price had increased by 30% since the last time. Not at the time of booking. Not before the first snip of scissors. Half way through the appointment so I was trapped into paying the higher price which I had not prepared for. 30% is a huge increase to drop on someone. After this visit, and once I got home and was able to truly see my hair, I reached out to have my hair fixed as it seems fair that given the $140 charge, we could work something out as I was truly disappointed with my hair. I was able to go in the following day, even thought Sherry was not happy with me. Upon arriving, it was very clear I was there just to have a simple and quick fix by applying a simple gloss over the tops of my blonde streaks, in which it will still fade into an uneven color which I will then have to be spending more money to fix again sooner than I should have to. After leaving and assuming that we are both adults, and what I thought was a good client and friend, we could just let this be and move forward with no hard feelings (all of which should have been on my end anyway), 2 days pass and I get a text that I am being dropped as a client. That I am no longer going to be able to have my haircut by the lady who has worked on my family for years and that I followed and supported from salon to salon. I can say with confidence that this was the last visit by me or any of my family as I won't support a salon that stands behind this kind of treatment towards their paying clients. As a business owner myself, clients always come first as they pay me for a service and have expectations of fair business and communication. I feel like not only did I not come first and communication was non existent, I was also treated as I did something wrong by wanting my color fixed. There are a lot of hard working people and business's out there these days that appreciate and are grateful for work, and especially dedicated clientele. Unfortunately for this salon it won't be with anyone working there moving forward. There is simply no room for overpriced, subpar services and attitudes these days. read more

Jada is a rockstar. She's cut my hair short, she's trimmed it etc and she's always been spot on. The last time she cut my hair, and the last time I've had my hair cut for that matter was 4 months ago. My hair has grown out but the cut is still amazing. I booked a color correction. I explained in great detail my hair history and what I wanted. I showed pictures and I told the stylist that I understood if I had to compromise because sometimes you can't do everything you want in one session. I wanted to take my already bleached hair and make it lighter. I wanted to take the blonde to the root if possible but okay if I had some root but I wanted to match my natural root as much as possible. She told me she couldn't take the blonde to the root but would cover it and had to go one level darker than my natural root. Which was fine. She said she would add a toner to the bleach hair. The goal was to cover the red that I previously had in my hair. She added color to my roots and added toner to the ends and blended the two. She washed me out and the roots were black. My roots are a natural sandy blonde and she brought my roots almost down to my ears. The blonde ends weren't blonde at all. I lost that light blonde color I previously had. It was dark and dull and even worse than before. I told her my concerns and she did another toner all over saying it would lighten everything including the black roots. She also gave me a bleach wash saying it would lighten the roots. She rinses me again and gives me a deep conditioning treatment. She starts to dry my hair and the blonde has an under tone of green and the roots are still black. I mention this to her and she says oh its the lighting, it's the angle. And tries to convince me that's its not green. Im trying not to bawl my eyes out. I ask her to stop styling my hair and I ask if I can pay and leave. She said she would grab her manager. The manager comes over and suggests I come in next week to fix it, another hair stylist says to add highlights to the root. These options don't work for me so I asked if I can pay cause I want to leave. They told me no charge. I insisted to pay for her services and time and she insisted that I dont so I left. read more

Worst experience of my life. Didn't even really look at the reference pictures I brought for the hair style I wanted, tones the top portion of my hair silver leaving my roots yellow, not blonde, yellow. Took 10 min just lathering shampoo in my hair. When I said that my hair was good at the length she was cutting she continues to cut my hair even further. Splashed water all over my back and face when washing the toner out of my hair. Not to mention the haircut is terrible uneven....Overall a nightmare. read more

Came in for a quick haircut. Got an appointment about an hour beforehand and I had Julie. She did a great job and was very friendly. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the place is a little outdated, which makes it look unkempt. There are many salons nearby with similar prices but that are more modern inside. I had a full color by Jill Green and she was AMAZING! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a great experience. I was very nervous to color my hair but Jill was so easy to talk to and walked me through steps to take care of the color so it last longer. When I first got there my stylist Violet still had to get the station ready so I had to wait a few minutes. Then she took me to wash my hair which felt great because of the scalp massage. She cut my hair with a razor which was interesting. She said that most stylists don't use razors because it takes too long but it adds a great texture to hair that makes it super soft. She was very careful and measured out every layer before cutting it. She took a lot of time making sure everything was even, which I was very happy to see. After she finished cutting my hair she partially blow dryed it and then tried to curl it. Strangely she seemed to not really know how to curl my hair. She only curled the ends of my hair and only the top layer. She also curled it in weird directions. So when she was done it was straight on top and at the bottom had some wild curly pieces mixed in with still straight pieces. I love the hair cut but I had to go home and fix the styling that she did because it looked pretty weird. Overall it was a good experience and I think I'll go back next time I need a cut. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review. I called the salon and let it ring over twenty times and no one answered. I was visiting the area and was staying walking distance to the salon. So, I walked over. Sign on the door says "walk-ins welcome". A loud bell rings as I walk in. A manicurist looks up at me then looks back down. There are at least 3 others working visible to me. I waited 4 minutes. No one ever acknowledged I was there so, I pushed the door to make the bell ring again. Once again a couple minutes go by. I'm a patient person. However, to walk in a business and be completely ignored was ridiculous. I'm a retired manicurist myself. I tip well. I left very upset but, with my voice being heard. I said loudly "thanks anyway for ALL your help!" Don't call, don't go. No one there seems to be in charge and doesn't care!!!!! After posting this I felt I should call them and tell them personally. Phone rang a lot, this time went to voicemail. However, ha ha ha, voicemail was full so I couldn't leave a message. Poor way to run a salon. js read more

Do not go here AT ALL , the person I saw here did a horrible job. (Jamie) I went in to get extensions yeah talk about them looking horrible and falling off, also I went in to get my hair dyed darker brown with blond (look at the pictures ) yes RED this was the second time I went in to get it fixed from her first horrible job. I texted her and showed her pictures to tell her for the second time my hair is red not what I asked . After spending about $400 on less than 30 hair tips for the hair extension witch she ripped me off because she got the hair from sally and they sell it for cheaper than she charged me . Thanks for doing that so classy . Them leaving my hair to match carrot tops hair yeah not worth it please be careful I never have done this I am a fair person and will allowed for second , third heck even ten as long as I have hair left over and it looks NOT RED . I texted her and she told me she would text me back yeah two weeks latter here I am out of almost $400 and had to dye my hair my self ( $12 at sally at least I got it brown) a gold hair stylist makes mistakes but tries to make it right not for the customer only but for reputation but when you make mistakes take someone's money and ignore them when they reach out that is being a bad hair stylist . I hadn't gotten my hair professionally done in a good year or so because I couldn't afford it but when I moved here I was determined to do something that made me feel good. I found Gemini Salon and nervously booked an appointment (I had a traumatizing stylist experience once that resulted in a mullet so needless to say new stylists frighten me). I wanted to go from my Sally Beauty Supply California fried bleach blonde to silver with some rootage so the new growth wouldn't be so gross and obvious. I got McKel. Let's talk about McKel. Lucky for me she only works on weekends (which are typically my days off so that's awfully convenient). Now not only did she seem genuinely excited about doing my hair (she had googled some images and showed me stuff to make sure we were on the same page), she asked me a boatload of questions to make sure she did what I want, and she explained to me WHY she was doing everything she was doing. She also didn't ask me for my life's story. I know we are spending hours together so sometimes stylists feel obligated to try to get to know you in a day, but she didn't get uncomfortable with silence which was awesome. She did an Olaplex treatment (SO WORTH IT-highly recommend), did some dark in my hair, and lots of grey/silver. She even texted me later to make sure I was still happy. She went above and beyond and it truly shows that she is passionate about what she does. I am absolutely sold. She made me feel better about myself than I had felt in a long time and that's something that I will never forget. You can't teach someone how to be genuine-they are or they aren't, and McKel is. Additionally, the attitude in the salon is very positive. Everyone seems professional and kind. The price also wasn't bad for a cut, color and conditioning treatment. I have paid way more before and never got anywhere near the service or satisfaction that I got here. I will definitely be going back. read more
