Tucked between the Broadway Honky-tonks, Nashville Gifts may not be honky-tonking the greatest price, however, their selection is impressive. For example, their t-shirts were over $20 and Nashville caps cost around $30. But to be honest, I saw that the only Downtown Walgreens charged similar prices for Nashville caps. As far as selection, I am a fan. They provide a grand array of gifts from t-shirts to place mats. As for me, I am a magnet collector, and purchased a Nashville magnet to add to my refrigerator collection. In hindsight I would've purchased a Nashville book mark. Just like a popular honky-tonk, Nashville Gifts was extraordinarily busy in similar style to Legends Gifts across the street. I am not a fan of crowds. On our last full day in Nashville when my Dad and Brother returned to pick up more souvenirs, I waited outside on Broadway taking in the horse drawn carriages with the AT&T Tower towering above the historic streetscape. Due to solid management, the long lines moved fast with good customer service that included the clerk wrapping up my magnet. That magnet with my pictures and yelps are my reminders of visiting Music City USA.

There's a huge variety souvenir items like magnets, stickers, cups, mugs, frames, bags, cowboy hats, caps, shot glasses, books, bags and so much more. The prices of the items are reasonable. We compared the prices to other stores, it was similar and in some cases cheaper. The aisles are slim, so it's shoulder to shoulder walking when crowded. The staff members mostly stay around register to help customers with checkout. We stopped by this store multiple times, bought stuff like a book, magnet and picture frame from here. We went during weekend peak hours, so had to wait about 10 minutes to checkout.

The Shoppes on Fatherland are a eclectic assortment of small retail spots with a few food/drink…read morespots along with service oriented shops mixed in. The blocks occupied feel like its own little community in the middle of the bigger city. It definitely has it's own vibe and is uniquely East Nashville. When we are in East, we normally make it point to stop in a shop or two. International Coffee, Galena Garlic and Adobe Mercantile are usually spots we frequent when wandering around, and Gift Horse is a cool place for a quirky or local gift for folks. Food wise, Maru and East Creamery are always on point and hit the spot! Hours of each shop differ, so make sure you look specifically at the hours of the places you want to visit. There is no real consistency amongst the shops from an overall hours perspective, which can be a tad frustrating. Parking is a bit wonky as well, nothing really dedicated at all times. There are a few pay lots nearby and street parking is plentiful in the area. Overall, Shoppes on Fatherland is a cool East community and is a good spot to spend a little time when you have nothing going on. It's always an after or before dinner/drink place for us.

T-shirts and hats were 2 for $20 and magnets and keychains were buy 3 get 1 free. The prices were similar to other souvenir shops I visited but most places don't offer these deals. I also liked the books they had for sale. I will add these books to my reading list.

I was then guided by this incredible person to a 3-way mirror to "experience the magic" that they were seeing. WOW!! It was like it was made for me. I felt like a bride because we were both just so amazed how perfect it was. This is the kind of magic you see someone with the star power of like Brandi Carlile wearing at the Grammy's. Super high quality but completely affordable and with a tailored fit. So affordable I also got my husband a really nice western shirt. Everyone in the shop was just so friendly and helpful. They also gave me this really cool flashlight so I could remember the shop's name. (Like I'd ever forget.) Wore it walking around the hotel and people stopped me to admire it. To my credit, people are very poor at explaining it. To use another idiom, it's more or less the same thing as "Beggars can't be choosers". If you get 'ish for free, you have no right to bitch and moan about its quality. Anyway, the items in this shop are not free, but they are very much gift-worthy. If you want to seem funny or thoughtful or clever or witty towards someone you love (or perhaps someone you want to love you), this is the place to go. It was a really cool store to visit but the only problem was that everything inside was extremely overpriced. From cowboy boots to clothing to toiletries for traveling to a giant wooden handcrafted horse, the Five and Tenn Gift Shop was neat to check out, but just to check out and not buy anything. Staff was not really helpful either. After visiting, I don't think I will return.
