Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. Thanks Doc for driving again today and the afternoon caffeine.

I live in the Dallas area, and she didn't have friends or family nearby who could bring her clothes, so I was trying to find something I could have a courier pick up and deliver. I talked to Rob, who wasn't actually in Nashville that day, but did a mental review of the store and said that he didn't really think he had what I was looking for. He was really nice and said when he was back in town he'd be happy to help if I still needed it. I thought that was a lovely gesture, but moved on to a quicker solution and dismissed it. So naturally, I was surprised to get a call from Rob a few days later, asking how my friend was doing and offering to go to another store, get something comfy and take it to her at the hospital. Now how nice is that? Amazing! You really have to patronize this store just because he's such a nice person! Naturally, when I arrived in Nashville a week or so later, I made a point of going by to thank Rob personally for his concern. And it was then I fell in love with his store! It's fun and full of the almost theatrical vintage I love, with a distinct country western flair. Lots of fringe, sequins, boots, belts and bolo ties, some from decades you may not remember! The day I was there, Rob had a Nudie suit that had been owned by Merle Haggard. If I lived in the Nashville area I would be a regular - and apparently a lot of local musicians and artists are too. If you want something unique, kitschy or dramatic (that you definitely won't find at TJ Maxx!), this is the place to come. And as a bonus, you get to buy it from a genuinely nice guy!

Although I don't own anything by YETI, I do appreciate how rugged its drinkware is. I have one friend who goes camping often in the summer and she swears by her YETI drinkware. YETI products are indeed durable. They are heavier than your average tumbler. It does keep hot beverages hot and cold drinks cold. I also liked its line of lunch bags. This store offers men's, women's, and children's clothing. There were Southern Marsh graphic t-shirts that felt so soft to the touch. I liked looking at all the Jeep t-shirts. I've never seen any clothing from Jeep before. There was a Forrest Gump t-shirt that made me smile. You can find Crocs and plushies at the back of the store. Vineyard Vines seems to be popular. It features a whale as its logo, which was cute. There were a number of clothing sales happening. If you want 4th of July discounts on clothing, you need to shop here. Everything was 50% off. If you are a visitor to Tennessee like me, you can find souvenir t-shirts and shirts here. You can also get college gear, such as Vanderbilt University sweatshirts. I tried them on and felt like a stallion strutting through the store. He needs a raise based off this selection alone. I was sold on them. Thank you, Sebastian! But the humility exhibited by this brilliant national treasure, is unbelievable. Manuel designs, sews and embroiders in his shop, and his talented apprentices do it all by hand. I suggested a theme for a face mask- "something with roses." and staff member Welty and Manuel Cuevas himself made my mask and they knocked it out of the park. Manuel never makes the same design twice. So whether you're getting fitted in person for a full Manuel Couture suit, or you're ordering your own bit of bling- a Manuel face mask, or scarf etc etc over the phone (I'm in NYC and so, if you can't get there, you can still get 'a Manuel) as well as affordable shop-made ready-to-purchase masks, hats etc. - it is YOUR Manuel, no two like it in the world. And the class, kindness, humility and real concern of Manuel, who sets the tone for his outstanding staff is unbelievable. Don't forget to say hello if you can, to his incredible daughter Morelia, the Rhinestone Heiress, daughter of Manuel and granddaughter to Nudie ("Nudie suit" -many tailored by Manuel when he was starting out there) and the utterly charming lifelong ambassador for Manuel brand. I wasn't just 'happy with my purchase'- like a store. I was over the moon about the design Manuel made for me. But it was also a true honor, to be able to have my own "Manuel" bling- my own piece of hand-made art, from wonderful, living legend. If you never thought of ordering a design from Manuel, I could not urge you more strongly to just look at what they have (or make an appointment and stop by), let your imagination run, and hand your thoughts over to The man who made Johnny Cash- The Man in Black. Of all the clothes you own? Shockingly affordable if you want a piece of true American couture, your Manuel will not be 'clothes'. His work is like a treasured family gem. (The shop has moved, but is still very much open! I found them on fb!)

This store is super close to the hotel where I'm staying. It takes less than five minutes by car. I came here to get some beverages. I ended up getting a twelve-pack of Diet Dr. Pepper. This store has everything you need. Fake nails? Yep. Shampoo? Sure. Advil? Yes. Sugar-free candy? Definitely. I was in the hair care section. There were two women getting hair dye. One was on the phone and abruptly left. Her offspring had swallowed something toxic, so she told the person on the other line to call 911. The other woman followed suit. I hope that everyone is fine. It was so unexpected to hear. This drugstore had a lot of plushies. It had Disney pride plushies. There were along a bunch of Squishmallows. Everything made me happy. I went to the checkout to pay for my items. I had a man help me. He was friendly. I entered my phone number to take advantage of discounts. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. My second visit was at around 10:40 pm on my birthday. I wanted to grab a bite to eat. Nothing major. I wanted a snack of some sort. The local Taco Bell was closed. I came to this Walgreens, and it was closed, too. The reason why I was disappointed was that this drugstore is supposed to be open 24 hours a day, according to the sign outside. It shuttered at 10 pm and was scheduled to reopen at 8 am, according to another sign. Bummer. It's a good drugstore. If you do get the munchies late at night, you are better off finding a different place in case it decides to shutter early. (225)
