House Fried Rice -- excellent. The pup is salivating.

Quick walk up. House fried rice is excellent, I'm used to it being a bit darker so I tossed it in my wok at home and added some soy, cayenne for spice.

Slightly tucked away (near Trader Joe's) in Dekalb Market, this place has delicious authentic Chinese food. The char siu is very tender and flavorful, and the portion is enough to keep me full and satisfied. I also got the wonton soup which had a lot of wontons and some greens. The wonton skin was thin and slightly chewy in a good way. They have lots of other platter options that I'll definitely come back for!

Was looking for something new in Dekalb Market and stumbled on Mr. Lin. Its really tucked away near the trader joes. I ordered their 3 meats bowl. I dont eat pork so my only options with the soy chicken and roast duck. I got 2 portions of duck and one of chicken. I will say the 3 meats bowl isnt actually a bigger portion of meat than the single meat bowls its just you get variety. It comes with rice a boiled egg and some veggies (bok choy and broccoli). It was simple and delicious both meats were flavorful and tender the roast duck especially. I sort of wish the boiled egg was seasoned or something but besides that I was pretty happy.

Mid range quality Chinese food in the food court of Albee Square Mall. Located in the basement near to the exit of trader Joe's. Noodles with peanut sauce 7/10 Wonton soup 7/10 Xiao Long Bao 6/10 (no soup inside) It's more worth it if you go through the seated app and do pickup. https://seated.app.link/LpBEkFrNT3

The wonton soup here is amazing! It isn't like other Chinese restaurants with the yellow broth and super thick wonton noodles. The wonton wrappers are perfectly thin and the broth is delicious. The wonton soup also comes with a few pieces bok choy and broccoli. There is a generous amount of wontons included (about ten).

Wonton soup was phenomenal. Made fresh with fresh broccoli. I had to wait for it as they cooked it but we'll worth it for a fresh soup that wasn't overly salty.

Wandered around the market hall and found this place in the back. Thought it was decent and fast Chinese takeout food. I got the Char Siu over rice bowl and the Curry Fishballs. Rice bowl was good -- they actually had the bright red char siu that I'm used to getting from my local Chinatown butcher shops. It also comes with a steamed roll, vegetables, and an egg. Really solid meal combo and filling. The curry fishballs were also good for an additional snack to share with another person. Overall I enjoyed it, and they were efficient and didn't have too much of a line when we went. Definitely go check them out!

If you are looking for healthy and not oily Chinese cuisine check out this spot. The food is made fresh and it taste good. It is not heavily seasoned and not overly salty. I ordered the curry chicken with rice and the curry was creamy and delicious. Not greasy and they added some freshly steamed broccoli. Service was fast and friendly.

100% Mr Lin serves authentic Chinese food, more Cantonese and FuZhou style than Szechuan (i.e. Han Dynasty) which fills a needed gap in the DeKalb Market space. For $7, you can get a pretty solid wonton noodle soup. They also serve barbecued meats over rice and fish balls. Overall, the menu is short, but very affordable compared to the rest of DeKalb Market. Today I got a wonton noodle soup. The soup base is clear chicken broth, flavored with scallions and ginger. This is a much cleaner noodle soup than at Han or at Hana. The noodles and wontons are cooked well, springy, so it is important to eat them ASAP. The wontons, while it says mini on the menu, really are mini and a bit disappointing just due to size. But the flavor is on point and the price is fantastic. I would 100% love an option to add extra veggies or a soy sauce egg on top. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Love love this place. I wanted to try this for a while. What steal, great noodle soup for 9 dollars?!?! Mmm so delicious and a huge portion. I got the wonton noodle soup which had 8 pork wontons and a ton of noodles in it. Plus broccoli and bockchoy. The noodles were so fresh tasting and the wontons had a great texture and taste too. The broth was like a warm hug. Could have easily split this with another person. I would definitely come back again. And on a cold rainy fall/winter day when you just want some good soup to warm your soul come here! Super yummy.

Highly disappointed with my Huo Rou. The description is crispy pork belly, but what I got was soggy, wet, rubbery skin.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

There was nothing that I ordered that needed ketchup. Nothing. There wasn't even soy sauce in the bag. Then had the unmitigated gall to charge $22 for the salt baked shrimp and told me I had to pay $5 extra to substitute the lo mein for white rice. Who is eating white rice with shrimp? Girl bye. I'm not paying almost $30 for one meal from a hood Chinese spot. If there's no heat in your establishment, your prices need to be in lowercase. If it looks like you might catch staph in your establishment, your prices need not to be so loud. I also believe they overcharged me. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. This is what I get for cheating on my spot and being lazy when they both were far af.
