Solid dry noodles spot. Taste very authentic. They were lowkey rude, but the food was good! The food is also prepared very quickly! I got the dry noodles with pork in spicy garlic sauce. It was very savory. The pork with the garlic chili oil sauce was delicious. It made the noodles flavorful and delicious. Few seating spots are available. I tried their stew beef noodle soup and it is EVERYTHING. It's super hearty, comforting, and honestly just hits the spot. The broth is rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and they load it up with tender stew beef, fresh bok choy, scallions, and noodles. It tastes like the kind of meal that warms you up from the inside out. Definitely comfort food. I also tried their vegetable dumplings, which were pretty good. The only downside was that I didn't get any sauce with them. Since it was my first time ordering, I assumed the sauce was already in the bag (they had it tied up so I didn't check), but there wasn't any inside. Normally dumplings come with at least a small container of sauce, so that was a little disappointing. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. Food & Price: 1. spicy chicken, beef noodle soup. 2. Dry noodle pork and garlic sauce. 3. 6 Gyozas - 锅贴 Price total: $29.23 The portions were good and the quality was fantastic. The noodles were actually spicy when I asked him to be spicy. I also asked for extra hot sauce on the side and they provide provided. No questions asked. For the authenticity as well as the quality of the food - the price is - was Fantastic!! Service: As a native manner on speaker, that doesn't help here. Know your order and don't expect explanations. On the plus side they have a QR code for the electronic menu. Pictures are posted across all the walls in addition to the countertop where you take your order with plenty of menus around. TLDR: I've seen Service much worse than other Chinese restaurants. At least here they provide you the materials for you to educate yourself. I'm knocked into the deduct points because they were not rude - because of my expectations were set. Remember, there's only four tables here so don't expect to sit down restaurant style of service. A friend surprised me with a delivery order from here and it was such a filling and comforting meal. They also have some BOGO deals, so got two Crispy Pork Rougamo ($6.50) and two Pork & Cabbage Dumpling in Spicy Sour Soup ($9.95). Both are great deals, but I especially loved how plump and juicy the dumplings are. The soup also have great tangy flavor that gave it the extra umami. I also got an order of the Stewed Beef Noodle Soup ($12.95) which had tender chunks of beef, fresh bok choy, and bouncy noodles in simmered soup. Solid spot to stop by if in downtown Brooklyn and craving dumplings. This was exactly the predicament I found myself in one Sunday afternoon. The store itself is small with a few tables to sit at. No fancy ambiance and it seems more like a take out spot than a place to eat in. I ordered 6 piece pan fried dumpling and the cold spicy chicken (which the cashier made sure to confirm I understood was cold haha). Took it to-go and ate it about 30 minutes later-- the dishes held up pretty well. Dumplings aren't amazing but hit the spot craving wise and for the price is pretty reasonable! Note: Reading is for the local area. Would probably give them 4 if this was outside of Downtown Brooklyn. I went to this place several months ago and as per the name of the restaurant, they serve food from Xi'an which is in northern China. Outside of this location, there's also a few others around the city. The place was very crowded and I was lucky to get a seat with a ton of people getting takeout with a lot of people getting dumplings or noodle soups. As it was a bit of a walk and because I was planning on having leftovers regardless, I decided to order two different noodles (Diao Diao Noodles and Liang Pi) along with one of their pork rougamo. To drink, I had a JDB Herbal Tea which is an alternative branding of Wong Lo Kat (there's a whole debate with this.) It's a herbal tea and for those who haven't had it, it is quite sweet with the closest flavor being rock sugar and osmanthus. The Diao Diao Noodles/西府调调面 is essentially a mix of three different home-style Chinese noodles dishes and would be a very good choice if you haven't been here before as it's a good way of sampling a variety of the dishes here. There was chewable noodle topped with stewed beef (or a dry version of their popular stewed beef noodles,) stir-fried tomato and egg/番茄炒鸡蛋, and meat sauce noodles/zhajiangmian/炸酱面 along with baby bok choy and scallion. The stew beef noodles were tasty with soft tender meat with some of it having a bit of a chew which is my preference and I can see why their soup version of this seems very popular. The tomato and egg was a comforting tasty dish and was the simplest in terms of flavoring which actually worked well as the other two were on the saltier side. The zhajiangmian was slightly salty but not too much so and it had a good rich flavor as with the beef noodles though in this case from the thick black porky stew. The bok choy worked as a veggie side and the noodles had a pleasant chew as well. Overall very tasty and very much worth it for the price. I ordered the Liang Pi/Cold Skin Noodles/凉皮 as well having most of it the day afterwards. As expected, it had good spice as well as a lot of vinegar and it tasted healthier compared to the other dish. It was a pretty solid version though I would have preferred more pieces of gluten which would have soaked up the tasty sauce. As they're designed to go together, I also got a Rougamo (or Roujiamo)/肉夹馍 with pork which is essentially a circular flatbread. The pork inside was very tender with some good fat which was good but it lacked the crispy texture on the outside. Overall the liang pi were good and the rougamo was pretty solid especially for the price. There aren't that many good Northern Chinese spots outside of Flushing and I found the food here just better than at Xian Famous Foods and cheaper. Just a really good deal and I can see why they're popular. Will go back to try the dumplings as they seemed very popular and more. read more

We got the diao diao noodles which were noodles in sauce with egg and pork! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the tomato-based sauce was perfectly sweet and tangy. I tried the "#1 beef noodle soup in the U.S." at Xifu Foods. It was pretty good! This place is pretty cheap at around $8 per bowl of noodles. They've got lots of traditional Chinese options like egg and tomato, jajiangmian, and liang pi mian, a cold Chinese noodle dish made for the summer. I love liang pi mian and was trying to find a good bowl in New York, but I'd probably pass on ordering it here. I'd definitely recommend the beef noodle soup - it's one of the best I've tried, and the egg and tomato was good as well, although I wouldn't order it again. Bites of Xian is hands down my favorite Chinese spot in the Downtown Brooklyn area. The quality and prices are nearly what you'd find in Chinatown. We ordered the stewed beef noodle soup ($8.95), the XF diao diao noodles ($8.95), and a XF crispy braised pork belly rougamo ($4.95). We absolutely loved the noodles, which were appropriately "Q" as we like to say in Taiwan to describe a chewy al dente texture. All three dishes' flavors were wonderful, especially in the diao diao noodles. I would definitely order the latter noodles again. The rougamo was also crispy and definitely filling as a snack or side. My only complaint is that some of the beef in the noodle soup and the pork belly in the rougamo were a bit fatty, although that was probably to be expected especially in the rougamo. After a long day of working i was craving dumplings. It's been quite some time since I've found any good dumplings within this area. I stumbled upon Bites of Xi'an and decided to look them up. The reviews looked promising so I decided to drive over. Upon arrival I was shocked by how I saw the employees handling the food! Bare in mind this restaurant is located near an active construction site and a busy street. Therefore, debris, car & truck fumes, dust, spit, and bugs are all over. Although in thin plastic bags, The food was placed on the floor. Raw meat was on the floor for about 20 minutes in 90 degree weather while they sorted frozen dumplings and vegetables by hand without gloves outside. I'll pass on eating here. Feeling a little meh and since noodles solve all of life's problems, stopped by one evening. The sign over the restaurant said "Xifu" but there are signs in the window that say "Bites of Xi'an" so don't be worried- you're at the right spot! They have paper menus at the front, but also have a QR code menu on the wall too, which I thought was helpful. If you're going to eat there, I suggest grabbing a table because there's not that much seating and it fills up fast. Food is made to order so you may wait a little, but it was well worth the wait! We got the stewed beef noodle soup, diao diao noodles, and pork pan fried dumplings- husband says the soup was a bit one note, but the beef was tender. My diao diao noodles (topped stewed beef, tomato/egg, and meat sauce) was insanely flavorful and hearty. While the noodles are good, I wish they had more of a "chew"- if they could've only pulled them from the boiling water a minute earlier! The dumplings were also fantastic- they were stuffed with meat and the skin (maybe made with the same dough as the noodles) were perfect. This is the kind of noodle place every neighborhood needs! CHANGE YOUR COOKJNG OIL. Nothing can be said with any relevance about this restaurant except that they need to change their oil at least when we went to was at least 3 days old and it made anything Friday to turn a dark yellowish green and I still have that dark taste in my mouth. Things that weren't fried were kind of tasty but in general food was lacking seasoning since we did not order things that were specifically spicy or in garlic. I almost walked right past this place because the outside says "xifu." The beef in the beef noodle soup was super tender and melt in your mouth. The broth smelled so refreshing and it had a lot of beef flavor. It was very clear and light. The noodles were firm. The chicken dumplings are really affordable, I just wish there was something other than chicken in them like some vegetables. The staff is super nice as well. The dumplings were excellent - the noodles left a lot to be desired. I tried this place out as it was just down the street from my hotel. It was only about a ten minute wait to get my food. Pork dumplings were worth the rave (definitely grab some sauce if you're taking to go). I had ordered spicy pork noodles but there must have been a mix up on mine because I got the tomato and egg instead. For my husband I ordered the noodles with braised pork belly. I can't believe this place isn't popular yet! Ive been coming here for years - often racing to get here before they close so I can have a proper dinner. Inexpensive AND good Chinese food! My complain with Brooklyn is that it does not have an authentic chinese restaurant. When I chanced upon Xifu food, I knew I found my authentic Chinese restaurant. They have a growing menu, they added chicken rice (I used to order beef or pork in the absence of chicken) and they have a few noodle options to choose from. They are also now accepting credit cards (they only used to accept cash) and accept online orders! They even have a website! I'm so impressed and happy that they are surviving these tough times.
