Unfortunately, we struggled for years with Thyssenkrupp (TK Elevator). It often took weeks for them to respond to service calls, leaving our elderly residents stressed, frustrated, and in some cases unable to get where they needed to go. We received constant complaints from families and staff, and it created a real sense of urgency and helplessness in our building. Thankfully, we found Northern Elevator Company -- and the difference has been night and day. They came in and fully modernized our elevator with a brand-new control system, and since then, everything has been running smoothly. No more calls about a stuck elevator. No more worried residents or families. Just peace of mind knowing we can rely on our elevator when we need it most. Northern Elevator has been responsive, professional, and a true partner in keeping our community safe and mobile. We're so grateful to have made the switch and highly recommend them to any facility where elevator reliability isn't optional -- it's essential. --Ivy Park at Cathedral Hill

And even then, they weren't confident that the issue would be solved. I found Northern Elevator after searching online and reaching out. They came out, quickly diagnosed the real issue, and discovered it was simply a $20 relay. They fixed the elevator the same day and got everything back up and running. I worked with Kevin and Robert. Their honesty, professionalism, and expertise saved us thousands of dollars and a huge headache. We couldn't be happier with the service and highly recommend Northern Elevator.

This was…read morepart of my large building expansion and gut remodel project, which involved a significant number of contractors and subcontractors. During this project, I got a broad look into the different kinds of personalities, levels of experience and knowledge, and styles of project management that exist in the construction industry. Richard's team, and in particular, his foreman/project manager Casey, ended up at the top of our satisfaction list. They were highly trustworthy, knowledgeable, experienced, and dependable. They were clear about the specific requirements of shaft preparation from the beginning, and when our (rather negligent) general contractor didn't deliver properly, they patiently went through the requirements again multiple times until the results were right. While our general contractor was delayed on the critical path to starting the elevator installation, Casey's team made themselves ready to hit the ground within a week of notice and finished everything in 4 days, passing city inspection upon their first and only attempt. During their installation, they found something off about the dimensions, and unlike other contractors who could have tried to pawn the costs of the error on the homeowner, they decided to just special order the necessary replacement and eat the cost. This helped us gain time on an already delayed project, and I was infinitely grateful to them for keeping their eye on expediency. I highly valued how efficient my conversations with Casey and Richard were, how easily my questions were answered, and how consistent and reliable these guys were to their word, and how professional their crew was when they were here working. This is how construction should be, and I only hope that more contractors in the city could be as accountable as REICA. They are certainly my go-to on elevator work now. Furthermore, if I could hire them to be general contractors I totally would.

I received a power wheelchair for this place previously. I was hit by a truck in my wheelchair…read moreseveral weeks ago. My chair was totaled. I have multipe serious injuries and these people have made trying to get a replacement wheelchair a NIGHTMARE. Every single "case manager" and the director of the DME company has said something different. I was told at first that I was outside the warranty of one year for my chair and they tried to hang up on me. I kept saying that I was hit by a truck. There should be some way to get a replacement chair. This went on over several phone calls. John the director said I just needed to submit the police report with the new script to Medicare. That was after many different responses from the "case managers." My doctor's office faxed over the new script and I called to let them know the police report was being held up. Then they said that they never received the fax. So I had to spend hours on the phone trying to ensure the fax was sent to the right place. Then I called to find out if the new fax had been received. A man answered who said that they got the script from a week ago, who talked over me, telling me the process to get a new wheelchair was not what John had said, that they needed the doctor to sign off and it would be sent to Medicare and Medicare would request the police report. How would they do that without know which police station responded? That is not what John had told me. Then he said I had an "attitude" and "temperamental" even though I'm LYING IN BED WITH BROKEN BONES AND HAVE NO WHEELCHAIR. The back and forth with this place for two weeks has been like the three stooges. There is no compassion with these people. They're dismissive and inept. Not a single person has said the same thing. Every single person has a different response. To my standing up for myself and trying to speak (the man talked over me for the entirety of the conversation) he became aggressive and insulted me. I'm so upset now, I'll finish this later. They should be selling watches, NOT MEDICAL EQUIPTMENT FOR DISABLED INDIVIDUALS.
