I bought a stairlift several years ago from a company that has since gone out of business. The "trigger" mechanism on the front of the right arm that you use to raise and lower the chair needed to be replaced. Since 101 Mobility sells that brand of stairlift I called them for help. They refused. It's a simple enough repair; all it takes is replacing the trigger, which is in an easily accessible location. But they would not do it because I hadn't purchased the stairlift from them. At first they said it was for "liability" reasons. When pressed, they admitted that they had had so many instances of botched repairs, even including damage to the stairlift causing it have to be replaced, that they stopped doing it except in the cases when they had to - for their own customers. Let's translate that. Their own estimation of the competence of their maintenance staff is so low that they don't want to even take a chance on letting them touch a machine that they don't have to by contract. Even for a simple, low-risk repair such as I needed. Well, I take them at their word. If they don't believe in their own competence, neither do I. Buyer beware. read more

I had three ramps installed by 101 Mobility, a 12 foot wheelchair ramp, an additional 5 foot ramp from the house into the garage and also a five foot ramp from the family room outside into the backyard. The owner, Ed and his crew were great. High quality products, installed and reasonably price. A really great experience with quality ramps installed perfectly. Promised us scooters within a "few hours" and every time we called to follow up on delivery time, they gave us an excuse for a broken truck and then a sudden lack of drivers which wasn't mentioned during any of the previous 5 calls. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who absolutely needs any scooter services. My disabled guests had to wait in the room for 6 hours before we finally cancelled the service. They didn't bother calling us to tell us they were lacking drivers. Use any other scooter service as other providers were able to get back to us and promise us delivery in 30 minutes. Not a credible or reliable business or service. Worst customer service experience with rude employees who are short tempered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME read more

Great service. Ed understood the time constraint and went above and beyond to make sure the stair lift gets installed before our parents arrive from out of country. He went to pick up the product from the carriers dock himself and installed it same day while working late. He treated our concern as his concern. The husband and wife team works really well. They deserve recognition. It's hard to find people who take there business this seriously. We were sold after first meeting with Ed. I needed some advice on a electric scooter lift that I had bought. I called another Mobility service and left my phone number. They never called me back. I called Ed at 101 Mobility. Which at the time was busy installing a stair lift. He did call me back and asked me to come see him. He was very helpful and it was a pleasure to meet him. I had to go see him again and he ordered a part for me. I was short on cash and said I would have to wait until next payday to pick it up. Ed said anytime I was ready to come by and he would have. I have a chair that takes me from my first floor to my second. I didn't purchase it from him but he comes to my home and fix it when it doesn't work. He is VERY professional and smart about his products. I called one afternoon and he came the first thing the next day. As usual he fixed my chair so I don't have to struggle going up and down the stairs. I am disabled and he does whatever to help me out. I recently purchased a chairlift, mostly for elderly relatives who could not walk up my stairs, for visits. But also knew it would be an investment for me as well, since I'm getting up in age and have arthritis myself. There seemed to be a confusion in time for appointment and length of time it took to install. However, once all done it was well worth the wait!! I had an aunt from out of state visit who couldn't do stairs, but absolutely loved the smooth, quiet gliding chair up my 17 stairs, and feel of the leather chair itself. Another family member who lives locally and can't use stairs, also loved it! And for myself, it comes in handy in more than one way. If I'm having a bad day walking, I use it. And with 2 convenient remote controls, it helps to transport my groceries up stairs!! I just love it! And Ed made it possible that I could afford it.
