My party of 5 came to the bar, we order our drinks. This bar did not provide the drinks that we wanted because all they do was shots margaritas & beer. So I ordered a shot my sister a margarita and a friend rum & coke. As we were finished with our drinks ready to walkout the tall white bartender made a remarkstating that next time to tip or stay. One I didn't tip because they didn't have the drinks we asked and the margarita was water down and the service want too great. $32 dollars for two drinks and a shot. What a cute neighborhood bar! We decided to grab a few drinks here after a day of vintage shopping. We sat outdoors since it was gorgeous out.... who else is happy about Spring!! Outdoor seating has a few 4 top tables so make sure if you see an empty grab a seat! This is a popular neighborhood spot and very much a sanctuary. My type of dive bar! We waited a few minutes for seating and the bartender was kind enough to move chairs around for us which was super accommodating. We decided on trying the hot toddy's from the menu, which were tasty and well made. He made them in big Apple cups which was just so cute to me lol (it's the small things) It felt great to sit outdoors, if you get chilly they have heating lamps above each table and the area is decorated with bamboo and sheer roof paneling which lets natural light pass through. We had reservations for dinner so we didn't have a chance to sample the menu but everyone seemed to be grabbing the "hot dawg" so I'll add that to my list on my next visit. After a year and a half, this neighborhood mainstay has stood the test of time! Bring your ID, a crumpled $20 bill you found in an old pair of pants and some good vibrations. Great for birthdays, bar/bat-mitzvahs, break ups, hook ups, forgetting or remembering. Been going to this bar the last few years and never had issues . sadly a man named Alex made a racist slur to me a latina and my bf a Asian American. After confronting this person he was let back by the Caucasian bartender and told me and my boyfriend we were not allowed in after confronted the person for his racist remarks towards us. The bartender then pretended to make up scenarios where we had caused "issues" at the bar previously. When never has that happened. When asked what accounts those were he stared at me blankly and said nothing in response. Sadly as a neighborhood bar I've gone to, I will never return. this is a racist bar and I will not be going back and encourage others to do the same. as a girl came out and attacked me for standing up for my Asian boyfriend. And the doormen had to pull her off me because she was mad we reported her friend for him being racist. But we were not let it? And she was after. as was the man who made racist slurs to us. This place really deserve no stars because its racist asf...as a person of color who is a veteran of Brooklyn and has been at this bar more than once and has heard stories from other people who looked like me or a person who is not white it's alarming...the first weird experience I had there was when one of their workers demanded a tip from my friends and I for paying for 5 shots...the way he demanded the tip for the shots was uncalled for and super aggressive..we did worry about it much bc were having a good time already drinking...the 2nd time was when we were there on halloween night in 2021 and there was a light skinned black man sitting at the bar waiting for a drink and one of the bartenders literally looked at him and ignored him...he eventually got mad and waited for his girlfriend so they can leave and as he was waiting he was explaining to my friend and I his frustrations with this bar and that this bar is extremely racist towards people of color and we need to be careful of the bartenders and the owner. The 3rd time was when we attended 101 Wilson on March 19, 2022 at around 12. We was already drinking having a good time so we weren't planning on purchasing drinks...in then spot they allowed vape smoking and fire burning smoking before. So my friend decided to spark the joint in the spot...as soon as my friend started to smoke the owner grabbed my friend by the shirt, took the joint from his mouth and inappropriately tossed it to the floor, and aggressively tried to toss him out the bar...but as a grown black man my friend stood his ground and waited to security to come and talk to my friend. My friend is a returning customer and occasionally bring people to MAKE the party, the security guard spoke to my friend and EVEN the security who was doing his job but knew the owner was wrong and DID TOO MUCH. I'll NEVER RETURN TO 101 WILSON EVER AGAIN. They use black people as a pawn to make their bar look "Lit" when really they don't like us and as a black person feel incredibly disrespected and not welcomed. read more

My friends and I, a group of 5, came here on a Wednesday night. A friend of mine flew in from out of town for her birthday and was staying 2 blocks down so we decided to come here for a midnight shot/celebration. We all sat down at around 11:40, waiting for a few minutes to order shots and drinks before midnight, and literally without having been there for a full 10 minutes, the bartender came over to tell us "if you're gonna sit here, you have to at least purchase something." Not to mention, it was basically *empty* there, and again we hadn't even been there for 10 minutes yet. It's clear that in the age of gentrification, bars that just came into the neighborhood within the last few years are still uncomfortable with a group of Black people coming in. You'd think a bartender could simply ask "can I get you all something?" as opposed to assuming we were there just to loiter and hangout. Anyway, if you're a POC, there's several other bars in the area that are probably more welcoming. We attempted to come here at around 2am on a Friday night as a group of three girls. We were not belligerently drunk, in fact we were barely drunk at all. As we walked up to the door there was a large group in front of us that was denied at the door, and as they walked away and we walked up to the bouncer, we were also denied. The bouncer didn't even look at our IDs, and just informed us that we were denied entry. When we asked why we were denied he just told us to walk away and informed us that we were denied. We are all well over 21, and he would have known that if he even took a glance at our IDs, but he didn't. There weren't even that many people inside the bar, and he let the people after us in like in the bar. Not sure what was going on, but the bouncer was incredibly rude and gave no explanation other than to walk away. Incredibly disappointed considering we are Bushwick locals and have been to this location many times. They need to find a new bouncer or risk loosing more business.
