And they only allow you to swim within a very narrow area in front of their stands- nowhere else, not even wading between stands! I was bodyboarding in the same area for about 45 minutes staying within the boundaries and next thing I know an aggressive lifeguard come over to tell me to move over closer to their stand and if I had done that I could have easily run into any number of small children wading in the shallow area where the waves were depositing me. This makes me not want to even go into the water, nor would I ever recommend this place to swim. I even had a whistle blown at me for wading up to my waist! A total buzz kill! Nope , we won't be returning here next summer! Not worth the aggravation

Contrary to its name, Poverty Beach offers a sumptuous banquet of riches. From the free street parking on the day I came (Tuesday in July) to the clean bathrooms steps from its entrance to its friendly tag seller. I paid $8 for a day tag; it's $15 for three consecutive days and less daily for longer if you plan to beach it. Being a cape, it's very windy so I put my umbrella away. The waves are strong but there are lifeguards until five daily during the season, like now.

Wildwood Crest Beach hosts many families and everyone I encountered was friendly and gave you enough space for social distancing! The beach is well maintained for the traffic they receive during peak summer months! Many lifeguards on duty and at night the police patrol the beaches to make sure those walking around feel secure! Constant police activity helps manage nuisance behavior, and during our walk we saw a few interactions between officers and people on the boardwalk. There are a handful of shops that are genuinely helpful when you're staying in one of the local casinos, with prices that are noticeably cheaper than what you'll find inside the resorts. At the same time, there are a lot of closed‑up storefronts and repetitive shops selling the same tourist items over and over, which can make some stretches feel a bit rundown. Even with those downsides, the ocean views, breeze, and easy access between casinos still make the Boardwalk a unique place to wander for a bit, as long as you go in knowing what to expect.

After our family enjoyed our lunch we decided to shop at this old downtown shopping area. The parking meters were still active even during December. Most of the shops were open in mid December. A parking meter person tried to ticket my vehicle in a parking spot just before my family visibly appeared. I was able to depart just in time. Cape May does use the Park 915 app for paid parking although I had a problem activating my Park 915 app on my iPhone.

I've always seen it as the final part of NJ and it is with Delaware being right across the water, 17 miles by ferry. Cape May sure has beaches, but it has lot's more - with places to stay such as the unique Congress Hall with all it's amenities and so much architectural history with the Cape May Lighthouse, Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May's own historical museum and much more. There is the Promenade which is dog friendly, wineries and breweries. Shopping, Food, movies on the beach in the summer and lots of Christmas lights on the many unique and historical houses during the winter season. If you aren't into all the water activities that are all available, there are nature preserve spots perfect for nice leisure walks and photo ops of plants and animals, again dependent on the season. I'mlad to have been able to come check out the Cape, right here in good ol' NJ. I'd love to come back. If you or someone ever asks what makes NJ special? This surfing beach is definitely on the quieter side, but still close enough to the boardwalk that you do not feel isolated at all. Parking is easy with pay‑by‑the‑hour options and plenty of safe street spots along Atlantic Avenue, which takes a lot of stress out of a beach day. The beach itself is clean and well maintained, with trash cans right at the entrances helping keep things tidy throughout the day. Depending on where you set up your chairs and umbrellas, you are still within walking distance of the boardwalk and some great food spots. Two of the closest options are Brown's Restaurant and Sand House Kitchen, which make it easy to grab breakfast or lunch before or after some time in the ocean. Overall, this end of Ocean City's surfing beach gives you the best of both worlds: a quieter, more relaxed stretch of sand, but still close to all the classic boardwalk energy when you want it.

Kimbles Beach shares its access road with a Cape May National Wildlife Refuge location. So you have…read morea major wildlife habitat adjacent to the beach. The road is fully paved to the beach because there are homes at the beach end of it. At one time the road appears to have gone even further but an older gentleman on the beach when I was there said the sea has washed away that extra piece of road, during storm surges. He mentioned that this beach is his favorite for fishing, although I saw people fishing at every bay beach except Cooks Beach. People fish the bay all year. The views of the coast are great at this location, and there is a nice chunk of beach to spend some quality hours hanging out. Kimbles and Cooks Beach are my top Middle Township bay beaches to visit! Definitely worth a trip! Like all of the small Middle Township bay beaches, this feels very remote and private. As with its neighbor beaches, you need to drive out through a stretch of marsh to get to it. There are homes on solid ground at the mouth of the road (by 47), and also as you get out at the beach, but the stretch in between is marshland. Marsh makes for great wildlife but also many bugs, so prep for that in warm months.
