We took a day trip here in August. Loved the area, it was quiet. Nice place to relax and watch people fishing or boating. I do recommend bug spray, green head flies can be an issue. read more

Corson's Inlet State Park is one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen in North America. This totally natural stretch of Atlantic coast line straddles three islands on the Jersey Cape There are paths through the extensive sand dunes and of course one can always walk on both the ocean and the bay cove beaches. The views across the inlet to charming Strathmere are super. Did you know the only poem in the definitive Norton Anthology of Poetry in the English language featuring a beach is the poem 'Corson's Inlet' by A.R. Ammons? If this beautiful shore spot is good enough for the poets, it is good enough for me. read more

Nice park with lots of room to fish and hit the trails. We saw a good sized turtle and plenty of fish.

Unfortunately, I did not have a great time at this park. My wife and I were actually planning on walking the trail(s), but one of the workers warned us that there were huge trees of poison ivy and that his arms were covered in it from the wind blowing the sap onto him. There were also closures (due to hatchings, I believe), which is fine but made us even less inclined to walk the trails, so we decided to journey onto the beach. Granted, the beach was pretty deserted, but the view was unromantic - a bridge with graffiti in the distance, and the water did not look enticing. We walked for about half a mile before turning back. I feel like we missed something major because other reviewers are describing the beach as beautiful and I would strongly disagree with that assessment from our visit. But maybe we went in the wrong entrance or didn't walk far enough? Anyway, I'm just one opinion in the mix :) read more

Not going to lie. Hitting the Jersey shore in the midst of the Pandemic isn't a great idea. Too many people, too close. Terrifying. But we bit the bullet and got Ocean City beach badges - but after a few visits, it was just too nerve-wracking. On a never-ending search to find the best option, we stumbled upon Corson's Inlet. The parking lot is tiny, and there are 2 port a potties at the main entrance. Be prepared to walk about 8-10 minutes each way (depending on how much junk you're carrying to the beach) to get to the beach. Not going to lie - depending on the time of the year, the mosquitoes and flies can be vicious. And in the afternoon, the sandy trail can be blistering hot on your feet. Painful. But it's a beautiful spot. read more

One of the best ideas in the OC aera was to preserve one of the last remaining large tracts of oceanfront land that no doubt would have been used to build yet more condos & rentals by creating this park in 1969. Hiking, fishing, the boat launch and I suppose using the beach are the major activities. With that said, in terms of hiking there are technically four trails listed on the park's map but one of them is a micro short offshoot of another trail that leads to the inlet and you can see the end of the trail as soon as you start at the beginning. The other three put together barely equal more than a mile but I suppose the main trail would be the yellow trail or the Ocean Trail. It's about three-tenths of a mile and leads along a sandy path to the ocean (duh). I visited twice last week on weekdays and both times things were more or less deserted. There was a state DEP worker sitting in his truck waiting for someone to come use the boat launch so that he could collect the appropriate fees ($12 per launch or $60 for an annual pass if you're a NJ resident or else the fee goes up to $60 and $80 respectively from Memorial Day to Labor Day). But past another car or two no one was on the trails and the only people we encountered on the beach were people who had walked down from their rentals back in town. The beach yielded tons of shells and tons of biting bugs. I suppose you could catch some rays here but it would have to be inside of a tent or by having a tanker truck of bug spray right next to you. Overall things were very quiet with the only noise being the occasional jet ski or two but past that Corson's Inlet is the perfect quiet place for a nice long walk to just think, relax or explore. read more

A very quiet (and free!) beach. we had a picnic here and it was a nice time. only issue we had was we got bitten by so many sand fleas, make sure you bring bug spray. read more

Great place to take my nieces and nephews for some cannolis and galamad with our brodas from brick church, cousin tony even brought marciello a gold loko lol. Great views and the water was anything but the Hudson back near Kearny haha. My only deduction would have to be the foot that was found a couple hours must of been Mario's boy swimming with the fishes lol. Would recommend! read more

I went there yesterday at the suggestion of a worker at Island Beach Gear, as I was not up to going to the board walk. It was late afternoon when I arrived and all of the spaces on the right side of the parking lot were taken, there were plenty of spaces on the left side but were marked with signage "parking for cars with trailers", after a few minutes I was able to snag a spot just for cars. There were lots of families fishing on the beach area with children. I decided to take a hike on the Yellow trail, it was an easy walk on soft sand on a well marked trail. As you walked the trail you could hear the sound of the ocean, but could not see it, made for an interesting sensory experience. After a few minutes of taking in the ocean and swatting the sand flies I deiced to head back. This time I wanted to take the Red trail back, unfortunately it was not well marked at some point I lost the trail. When I back tracked and did not see any makers I deiced to go back to the Yellow that got me there. The flies were becoming unbearable and probably looked like a crazy person wailing my arms about. This nice stroll in the park did not end so nicely. As I was driving home, I scratched my head and a tick fell onto my shirt. While he was not attached or engorged, I went home and stripped down as soon as I came in the door, I had another tick inside my shirt, and found another by my navel. I wasn't even thinking of the possibility of ticks in this place. So take precautions, wear the appropriate clothing and repellents, Check yourself thoroughly after as well. Park was lovely but think I will visit in the winter next time. read more

We have been vacationing in Ocean City NJ for many years now. But for the past 5 years or more we have found a diamond in the ruff. Corson's Inlet is a jewel of an Inlet surrounded by the bay and ocean where King Birds swirl above you almost at hands reach. The fishing is excellant providing you have the right rod and bait. Each time that we have visited we find new exploring adventures. I highly recommend visiting while your down the shore and plaese pack a lunch and enjoy the day. read more
